“I had dinner at this restaurant while visiting Wiscasset over the weekend on a recommendation from family who lives locally, we actually went twice!! So safe to say we were fans! The decor and surroundings themselves were so homey and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, I am dreaming about the Haddock sandwich still! Truly the only complaint was the size of the salads which a few members of our party ordered was slightly disappointing. But they said that the flavor was fantastic and the shrimp they added was big and delicious! We also had the crème brûlée for dessert which I am also still dreaming of and probably will be for a while!! The service was fantastic, we absolutely loved our waitress! The whole atmosphere was wonderful; and I am sure we will be back next time we are in town visiting!!“
“Super cute restaurant right on the bay. You go up and order and they bring it to you. I recommend going early if you are having breakfast as many of these smaller places get busy fast. Food was excellent. Our party of 4 had mostly omelets and one had Maine blueberry pancakes. Everyone ate everything on their plate. Nothing better than a small business where you can see the cook and know they are passionate about what they do. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they were extremely accommodating. Highly recommend!“
“More breweries need campgrounds! This is a new favorite spot of ours. The food and beer is excellent, the staff and owners are so friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the campground is clean and well maintained, AND dog friendly! Great location doesn’t hurt either. Thank you for an awesome stay, we’ll be back!“

“Waves is my go to breakfast spot in town!! Great food at great prices.. can be hard to get in to at peak times and the booths are tight but it's worth the squeeze and take note if your a phone nerd like me make darn sure you set up front by the windows if you want to get phone signal..lol service is always great!!“
“Chefs seeking to create within the context of #Maine Coastal Cuisine must respect entrenched expectations while at the same time seeking opportunities to introduce elements of surprise, and occasional open rebellion. Such is definitely the case at Blue, where the playfully inventive talent of Chef Esau Crosby brings unexpected twists to familiar Maine staples such as grilled swordfish and mignonette sauce. On a recent evening, the marinated & grilled swordfish was served with an inspired housemade ketchup based in retrieving the condiments’ pre-Heinz history, while the punchy & peppery mignonette offered fresh counterpoint, rather than drab camouflage, for a half dozen perfectly shucked and presented Robinhood Cove oysters. The music mix in the dining room offered a subtle clue to what was going on in the kitchen, offering an unusual (for Maine restaurants!) mix of jazz ballads from John Coltrane to Billie Holiday turning familiar tunes inside out, thereby making them new again. There was something both slightly sad and slyly humorous about seeing the same ole “Garden Salad" (yawn) listed as a daily "special", while from the regular seasonal menu we thoroughly enjoyed playful riffs on beet salad, here served as a colorful composition with pea shoots, cashews and shaved fennel; and in a second salad, baby greens were brought into perfect harmony with roasted local apples. The wine list was equally as playful. Yes, there were the inevitable California Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Cab Savs (double yawn), yet we were pleasantly surprised by the presence of an excellent Loess Grüner Veltliner and a delightful Argiolas Armentino from Sardinia. With regret, we must report the one sour note for our otherwise memorable evening at Blue, and that is the clumsy performance of the two Grey Havens (triple yawn) Innkeepers, who would be better advised to let the excellent front-of-house staff do their thing unencumbered by their bossy & boorish attempts at conducting, sort of like like beginner tuba players barging into a jam session among seasoned pros. In sum, we will happily return to Blue for as long as Chef Crosby performs at the heart of the mix. As for the Inn, well, the front porch does offer a lovely view of coves and offshore islands. For us, that will be "Inn" enough!“

“If you're an ice cream lover, then Downeast Ice Cream Factory in Boothbay Harbor is a must-visit! Nestled in this charming town, this gem of a shop offers a delightful adventure with its array of over 50 ice cream flavors, each more tantalizing than the last.During my recent visit, I indulged in three exquisite flavors: peanut butter, chocolate, and pistachio. Each scoop was a masterpiece of creamy texture and rich, authentic taste. The peanut butter was perfectly balanced, not too overpowering; the chocolate was luxuriously smooth and decadently dark; and the pistachio was wonderfully nutty and refreshingly natural, without the artificial tinge that often mars this flavor elsewhere. The staff at Downeast Ice Cream Factory are as sweet as the treats they serve. Their passion for ice cream is evident in every detail, from the carefully crafted flavors to the cheerful service. This place not only serves ice cream—it serves joy.I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their flavors. If you find yourself in Boothbay Harbor, do not miss the chance to experience this splendid ice cream paradise. Highly recommend for anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth with quality and creativity!“
“Celebrated our anniversary here and it was a nice cozy way to round out another year together! It was right across the street from our bnb and was one of the few places in the area open in early April (harder to find than you think!) so was all in all very convenient. We tried the grilled Caesar, crab cakes, lazy lobster and baked haddock with crab stuffing, and the blueberry pie. Grilled Caesar: yum, all good things, no complaints Crab cakes: pretty good, but would have preferred a few more lumps to change up the texture a bit Lazy lobster: my partner really enjoyed this, especially the fettuccine Baked haddock: a bit bland overall and the crab stuffing was the same as the crab cake, so same thoughts there Blueberry pie: filling was delicious but crust was a bit salty for our taste. Servers were very kind and attentive, always filling our waters and checking in on us which was appreciated!“
“Great resort. The plentiful watercraft/sailboats are in good shape, no waiting around to get access and there are knowledgeable and friendly staff (and they are waiting to help you, no searching for someone to help). Kids activities were more abundant than I realized, with a full game room with foosball, ping pong, table shuffleboard and board games with tables to play them. You can view the bay right from inside the pool. Trivia night was a blast by the wood fire place. Overall an excellent time that surpassed our expectations.Walkability: Nice amount of grounds, but easily traversable.“
“Fun place with good food right on the water. Live music on the weekends during the summer. Chowder was delicious with good amout of lobster, shrimp and crab. Crabcakes are appetizer size. Chicken picatta was delicious.Vegetarian options: Good options for vegitarians/ pescatarians.“

“Stopped in Booth Bay specifically for a soft shell lobster dinner. I was not disappointed! The lobster was a full pound and a half and full of meat! Mo tools were required to separate the shell from the meat. My wife ordered the scallop dinner and she was not disappointed. We will be back!“
“The international staff used by Spruce Point Inn make a HUGELY POSITIVE difference. they are refined and DELIGHTED to work. They are not loud mouths blasting stupid "So what are we thinking tonight?" in your face. What a great experience!“

“Yes, it is not on the 'main strip' in Boothbay... however worth the short walk. We met the chef the night before at Pier 1 Pizza so, yeah - we had to go! Great atmosphere... service was excellent.. we had fish and chips. probably the largest piece of fish I have ever seen and it was delicious! I wish I had taken a picture to share.“

“Service was very good and so was the food. My husband had the fish fry and I had the crab cake. I tasted the fish fry and thought the fish was a little dry but my husband ate it all. The garlic fries were excellent. My crab cake was delicious, moist and fresh! We loved the view of the bay. We will be visiting again on the way out of town this weekend.“

“We had breakfast and 3 dinners during our 3-night stay at the Spruce Point Inn. The food was and service were so good that we didn't have to look elsewhere for our meals. For our dinners we had the vegetarian bolognese, pork chops, littleneck clams (super yummy broth!), calamari, salmon, salad, crab cake, and for breakfast, the lobster eggs benedict was so good. Very enjoyable atmosphere, beautiful view of the spectacular sunsets from the dining room there. Couldn't ask for more, and it was just across the grand deck from our cottage, so convenient.“

“I really like this place. The restaurant is paneled all in honey colored wood and is cozy. Our server came quickly and was very pleasant and nice. We tried the cream of mushroom soup, which was tasty, though more like a mushroom stew than soup. He had the lobster sliders and sad they were fantastic. The bolognese was delicious and a huge portion. He said the fried fish was very fresh. The blueberry pie was great too.“

“The most beautiful place to relax and unwind. A truly stressless visit. I enjoyed eating on the charming back deck overlooking the water. The hotel and wait staff make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to waiving you goodbye. I'm lucky to have found this piece of heaven.“
