We were in Bar Harbor for 3 nights: we ate dinner here twice and one lunch. We tried the whole fried clams: fantastic! Lobster, fried haddock, lobster, lobster stew and local beers. Super value and super fresh. All the employees were smiling and helpful. I highly recommend this place!!!!
We just stopped here for lunch on our first day in Bar Harbor. Hands down a great stop for lunch and the staff was great with our boys (8, 6, 4yo) including turning the Lego channel on at the bar.
This place is the best. If you are planning a trip to Acadia National park you need to plan to stop on the way and get Fresh Boiled Lobster with butter and on the way out get a Lobster Roll. Great friendly service. Not a chain store, just hard working people making a living, sharing what their land has to offer!!
Downeast Lobster Pound is a restaurant known for its delicious and fresh lobster dishes. The restaurant has a convenient location for those coming from or going to Acadia or Bar Harbor. Although it is a no-frills place with a simple ordering process, it has a nice upstairs deck and an inside area for customers to comfortably enjoy their meals. The lobster roll was delicious and the lobster melt was loved. The lobster bisque was great and flavorful. Additionally, Downeast Lobster Pound is reasonably priced, making it a better option than Bar Harbor's overpriced lobster places. The blueberry pie and the atmosphere are also worth mentioning as highlights of this restaurant.
