“Service is good. The staff is very friendly I ordered the grilled lobster twin dinner with corn and coleslaw. It was good however it needed some seasoning.Five minutes away they have a sister location named Smokey’s BBQ lobster pound I ordered the same thing. Their food has more flavor it must be the black chef from Jamaica putting love into the food. The lobster was grilled longer which gave it a nice taste and it also tasted like he brushed garlic butter with herbs on it. It was lovely!!**pictures shown are from Smokey’s“
“Their lobster is delicious and tender (even without the crack butter which is never the case for Philly area lobster), if need be for those with family members that can't eat shellfish or avoid seafood they have traditional cuisine like burgers made to your liking, chicken tenders and salads...veggie burgers too for that family member you weren't able to leave home no matter how hard you tried. If your waiter/waitress isn't sure what you mean when asking for garlic butter (common with uncultured seafood eaters like myself from the Philly area) then ask for the "crack butter", they'll know what you mean. Thank you to our waitress for her hospitality, the owners for the great family dining, special thanks to the husband for the fresh caught lobster.“
“Absolutely fantastic restaurant in the Bar Harbor area. Excellent lobster rolls. My preference is the "cold one". The clam chowder is the best that I've eaten. Really, really good. And the top it off, the wait staff and management were great to us.“
“Great service, best lobster dinner around. This was our first Maine Lobster experience, we didn’t know where to start. The staff was friendly and helpful, they guided us the entire way, even showed us how to dig into our lobster properly. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. Trenton Bridge Lobster pound 10/10!!!“
“For people who grew up with good Mexican food: this is the spot! I moved to Maine from the Western side of the country and have missed real Mexican food. The flavors reminded me of home, the salsa was fresh, and the server was super friendly and accommodating! Atmosphere was a little slow because it was a Sunday, but the decore is clean and professional. All around pleasant experience! Definitely going back for the Oaxaca Steak! ~ Gorda“
“Nice place most times nice customers as in all places theirs the few undesirables but nice workers overall and convenient access to tables scrumptious crab rolls and burgers are handmade unlike other places from the freezer to the grill overall nice place“
“Ruth and Wimpy's in Hancock, Maine, is an absolute Downeast treasure. This charming eatery exudes a laid-back, authentic Maine vibe that's as inviting as your cousins' home. It's a place where you'll feel right at ease, and the hearty portions of delicious food only add to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. When you step inside Ruth and Wimpy's, you're not walking into a flashy restaurant; it's more like entering the cozy home of your long-lost relatives. The Downeast essence is palpable in every nook and cranny, from the decor to the friendly faces of the staff. The food at Ruth and Wimpy's is not only mouthwatering but served in generous portions. It's comfort food that warms the heart and fills the belly, just like a family gathering. The service is as friendly as a conversation with a close friend, and it's clear that they genuinely want you to enjoy your meal. The prices are incredibly reasonable, making it accessible to all. Yes, there might be a bit of a wait, but it's absolutely worth it. Ruth and Wimpy's is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that embodies the true spirit of Downeast Maine. If you're in the area, don't miss the chance to be welcomed with open arms and fantastic food at this hidden gem.“
“We always dine takeaway so we can't really comment on the service aside from our limited interaction. When we go in, the place is usually fairly busy and seems to be well kept. Getting our takeaway order isn't a pain, sometimes I got to wait due to the mob of people trying to get seated. We've had a couple orders messed up recently, missing slice of pie or something like that, so we check the orders now before leaving. The vast majority of our orders weren't missing anything. The food and pies are good. Their hot honey chicken is very good. We've had a number of their desserts, usually take's us an extra day to finish a slice of pie as they are generous. Their eclairs were so big I had to try them. Not much to complain about, we will come back.“
“It is February 2024. Off-season, but luckily for us - they are open on Thursday/Friday/Saturday for dinner!!Excellent in every way. Our entree was a delicious haddock dish with sides of ceasar salad, and red potatoes. They made me a wonderful Blueberry martini. The staff were attentive and pleasant and the ambience was intimate and comfortable. Bar Harbor is the Best!!!“
“Thanks Mike and Andre (and the other unnamed employees) We were in Bar Harbor for 3 nights: we ate dinner here twice and one lunch. We tried the whole fried clams: fantastic! Lobster, fried haddock, lobster, lobster stew and local beers. Super value and super fresh. All the employees were smiling and helpful. I highly recommend this place!!!!“
