They come with a variety of vegetables, pick three meats, and pick your man protein, the choose between white rice, ramen or Udon noodles. It was absolutely delicious! Great portions. The nachos were ok. Not bad, but I probably would not order them again. Overall, I was pleased with the order and will return in the future.”

It’s like a freak, so it is so never again I’m done with IHOP.”

I decided to order the Al Pastor tacos, and they were absolutely phenomenal. The tacos were filled with tender, flavorful pork that had been marinated to perfection. The combination of spices was just right, giving each bite a delightful burst of flavor. The addition of fresh pineapple added a sweet, tangy contrast that perfectly complemented the savory pork. Every ingredient was clearly fresh and of high quality, making for a truly delicious meal.
The tortillas were soft and warm, clearly homemade and the perfect vessel for the delicious filling. I appreciated the generous portion size, which left me feeling satisfied without being overly full. The side of lime and the salsa bar allowed me to customize each taco to my liking, adding an extra layer of flavor and freshness.
Beyond the food, the ambiance of Backyard Taco is fantastic. The outdoor seating area is charming and comfortable, providing a relaxed environment to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The decor is vibrant and fun, reflecting the lively and authentic spirit of the restaurant.

The only reason I give it a 4 star for the food is because the cocktail sauce was a little on the spicy side for me (although I think bell peppers are spicy so that's where my lack of tolerance is lol) and the shrimps in the pasta still had the tails on it, which I thought was a bit odd for a pasta dish so it was slightly annoying that I had to dig around in my pasta to find all the shrimps and cut the tails off myself before I could properly dig in.
However the service was fantastic and everything tasted delicious (even the slightly too-spicy-for-me cocktail sauce! I just took sips of root beer between bits of shrimp cocktail to reset my taste buds).

“My 11 year old son and I stopped in for some sushi tonight and I must say. I've never been so mistreated by a place of business in my entire life. Food was just ok. Nothing special. I ordered 10 piece sashimi, 2 rolls, stuffed jalapeños, miso soup and a sculpin ipa. The girl didn't know what sculpin was and asked for me to point it out on the menu so I did. Our food started coming out and 4 of the 5 items were already on the table and my son and I were starting to get full. The waitress hadn't brought my beer yet and I stopped her and reminded her I hadn't gotten the beer I ordered and I no longer wanted it since we were already pretty far along into our dinner. After I mention this she quickly hurrys to the bar and brings the beer apologizing for the delay. I tell her like I said I no longer wanted it so she took it away. Later when she brings the check the beer that I didn't receive and said I no longer wanted was still on the check. I asked her to please remove it. The owner comes over and in an agitated and aggressive manner asks if there is a problem wirh the bill. I told him yes the beer needed to be removed. He says no he will not remove it since it was already poured. He walks over to bar and brings it back and says here is your beer you need to pay for it. I explained to him how I received it after I had gotten most of my food and no longer wanted it but he refused. He was beyond rude and unreasonable. Most restaurants would take back a beer even if you take a drink and don't like it, I didn't get my beer until I was done with 50% of my food and didn't want it anymore! I mentioned something about his poor customer service and how it's no surprise the place is empty with no customers. The guy gets really heated and demands j pay for the drink. I got up and told my son let's go and the owner begins to assault me pushing me in the shoulder to back me up. 3 of his staff and my son witnessed this. He then stood in front of the doors and would not let us exit until I signed the credit card slip. I went back to the table and signed it "F You" and he let us out but after he read the signature the owner ran outside the store threatening me and getting into my face while calling the cops. His staff even thought he was crazy and were begging me to sign it and they offered to reimburse me $5 cash for the beer. They said their boss was having a bad day. The staff even agreed that the beer came out late which should not have been problem to have it removed. I ended up scribbling something on another copy of the credit card receipt and he finally allowed us to walk away without harassing us. My son was so scared he was calling 911 himself because of how the owner was assaulting me and up in my face. All this mistreatment over a $5 draft beer. I will never step foot in this place again and I should press charges against the owner for putting his hands on me and assaulting me. He even mentioned he has it all on camera so he can validate himself everything that took place. I read over other reviews for this place and it seems this owner likes to argue and fight rather than take accountability for his and his staffs actions. It's unacceptable for anyone to EVER be treated this way, EVER.”

Parking spaces were available during the lunch hour. Only one other diner but that didn’t stop me. The diner was eating duck and I noticed how good it looked. Not too fatty like some I have had. The place is spacious and clean with friendly staff. After perusing the menu, I decided on Chicken with Chinese greens. I specifically asked for Chinese broccoli aka Gi lan. I heard the lady repeat the order in Chinese to the cook. I looked at the window where several roasted ducks and BBQ pork aka char siu hung. Both looked moist and I made a mental note to get some char siu for hubs next time. The meal was ready quickly, boxed and bagged up to go. Tonight’s meal was delicious. Not oily at all. The chicken was really tender. They used the trademark way of making the chicken tender and plentiful. If you don’t know what I am talking about, just Google it. Most Chinese cooks do this to their wok fried chicken. The gai lan was super crunchy and lots of it. They made the veggie perfectly. One day when I get the yen for duck, I would like to return. Generous portions. All in all, a great experience.”

We have been back since this 1st visit. The 2nd one was even better as our waitress was friendly and attentive. We wanted for nothing.
The 3rd time we we weren't so lucky. I don't know her name because she did not introduce herself & was very cold & not friendly at all. The food was wonderful as usual. We went all 3 times for Birthdays. The desserts on the 1st 2 were amazing & pretty. The 3rd not so much. Just a sundae in a glass with whip cream. No Happy Birthday written on a plate like the other two times. It was very disappointing. The friendless of the staff & great food make a great restaurant to talk about & go to. We will not stop going because the other 2 times made up for the one bad. However, there should not even be a bad experience. We pay a lot of money to eat out these days. My new home is within a couple miles from the Mesa location. There were a lot of cars in the drive thru so I parked and went in. Place was empty inside and no customers. Guess everyone likes to sit in their cars for 15-20 minutes waiting. I was going to take out, but after seeing how nice it is inside, I decided to dine in. Nice TV, music was on.... food was perfect. The cashier was constantly cleaning and wiping down tables and soda machine, windows, door handles, etc... and asking me how everything was. He was a very pleasant man to talk to. I got the Wing Combo Meal. Great addition to the menu! I know cost of wings are high right now because I have a friend that works in food distribution. They have been under new management since May 2018. We had booked our reservation late this year and could not be seated at McCormick Ranch or Wrigley Manson. Annabelle's was available although the old reviews were not so good. We booked it anyway because it was close and available. I am so happy we did not listen to the bad reviewsWe went and it was better than our past experience at McCormick Ranch and not as expensive. It was buffet style and had all the traditional varieties of food for Thanksgiving. The gravy and stuffing were excellent. They also had a breakfast brunch buffet and a wonderful salad bar with specialty meats, salad, and cheeses, dessert table. The buffet price included free Champagne or Mimosa's upon your arrival. We would highly recommend Annabelle's with it's vintage 1950's glamour and gorgeous chandeliers. So, if you want atmosphere and fine dining it is here at Annabelle. They are also open for breakfast lunch and dinner daily with outdoor pool view patio seating. We definitely are going there again and again and it's so close. I hope you take my recommendation and visit this restaurant so they can stay in business. We need a fine dining place close to L.W.Sally & Dave Perry”

“I’ve been a customer of Kneader’s Bakery on McDowell in Mesa, AZ since they opened. Their desserts, breads, salads, soups, sandwiches and smoothies have always been prepared well and very tasty. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Today I picked up pumpkin breads that I ordered online and had a great conversation with Dee Ann and another employee. They were so outgoing and had excellent customer service. I ordered a Non dairy berry smoothie that was delicious and also received a free loaf of country white bread. What a pleasant visit and an unexpected token of kindness. I will continue to support this business and encourage others to do the same.”

“Came in a few weeks ago, I forgot to write my review, I was with a few friends , I was so happy the place is very clean, it was a bit busy , we were seated right away our server Michelle, was amazing she suggested some dishes for us , I had the meaty melt on the bread that they serve it on it is amazing, it was cooked to perfection, my friend had a Lumberjack, he raved about his eggs he had them poached, the food was hot and didnt take long at all, Michelle was very helpful and sweet, I definetly recommend”

“I was craving a hot pot and talked my Sissy into going. Top Pot is listed in top five in Mesa. We went and tye atmosphere is beautiful. Very cozy lighting, and artwork. Our waiter Raul greeted us. He is friendly, humorous, knowledgeable and attentive. We order our individual Hotpots. They come with a variety of vegetables, pick three meats, and pick your man protein, the choose between white rice, ramen or Udon noodles. It was absolutely delicious! Great portions. I'm for sure going back when the temperature cools down.”

We even were served by the manager, who frequently touched the table and asked if we needed anything. The specials this evening were perfection, everyone loved their dinner and the desserts were top notched. Amazing atmosphere and very clean on the inside. Can’t wait to go back soon!”
