“I think it’s up for debate what our wedding guests loved more, seeing us get married or this food. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We were able to make a menu that not only accommodated vegans, vegetarians, nut allergies, and gluten sensitivities, but also provided a complete meal for those guests. We heard from just about every one of our 140+ guests how it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Many of the guests were not familiar with Mediterranean food, but they left with a new favorite cuisine. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the process and were very enthusiastic about giving us the best experience possible. We would highly recommend them for anything from dining in to catering larger events.“

“I'm surprised I've never written a review for Bell's as I've been there several times over the years. Nate and I were in town for the weekend recently and we actually went to Bell's twice in two days. The first visit we shared a couple of flights and a snack, and then we did the brewery tour the next day. It seems that Bell's is pretty much always busy but it's a big space, and they have a nice outdoor beer garden for warmer months. We found a table right away and ordered their two options of flights. One featured sours and darker beers, and one was more of their mainstays. It was nice to be able to try some options this way, but I prefer being able to build my own flight. Not sure if that's an option here, but it was pretty busy so we just went with it. The menu has lots of tasty options! We went with the popcorn (brown butter, garlic, salt, and pepper) and a featured item, the brat. That came with fries or a salad which was nice - we went with the salad. I always love options. The beers were all tasty and I think you can find something for everyone there. The food was really good! I LOVED the popcorn. It's one of my favorite snacks and theirs is delicious. The brat was fine, it definitely needed a bit of a char on a flat top/grill. The next day we arrived for the tour right on time but the group had already started. That's okay as we caught up with them quickly. You can reserve online ahead of time but our group was only four people. (I'd still make a reservation. The tour is free.) The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, and you get three beer samples throughout the tour. There's a store where you can get to-go beer and lots of merch - it has its own Yelp page! Bell's is a great stop for any beer lover.“

“Been the best neighborhood bar in my world for maybe 20 years, and I don't even live in Kalamazoo anymore. Bar itself is a work of art; dark wood, huge and real. This is not some tricked up franchise, designed to make you feel like you're really into something authentic. Only place in Michigan I've found that can properly pour a pint of Guinness. Food is excellent, and the menu not your standard bar fare. Jamie, the proprietor is on the premises, friendly and keeps things running smoothly. Just go!“

“I loved Green Door Distilling! Nate and I stopped in for a drink and ended up doing the tour, which they do on Fridays. The tour is $20 and it comes with a flight, which we were going to try anyway. Or you can just do the tour for $10 if you don't want a flight. It's not much of a "tour" in a physical sense as their production facility is small, in just one room, but we learned a lot about distilling in general, as well as a lot of information about the company and their products. I'd highly recommend it especially if you don't know much about the company. The interior has a 20s speakeasy feel, which I really liked. It's a little fancy but comfortable and welcoming. The drink menu was pretty large and it was tough for me to choose which drink I wanted after the flight. I ended up with the blueberry margarita because it was on happy hour. It was really great! Not too sweet. Nate got the cherry black Manhattan which we both enjoyed too. I loved the flight because we got to try pretty much all of the spirit offerings, including their amaro, Oaxacan green corn bourbon, and pink peppercorn gin, which were all unique and very tasty. Our bartender was knowledgable and very kind - great service. I'll definitely be back!“

The band, Hired Hands, was amazing, and Old Dog went out of their way (Amy and her hubby and staff) to make us all feel welcome. “Been going here the last couple of weekends with my wife for breakfast and we are both over the moon impressed! Typically we go with a #9; eggs, hash browns, meat, and toast - you can't go wrong. On our last visit my wife had the French toast and I got eggs Benedict which was some of the best I've ever had! I will 100% be ordering the eggs Benedict again. The coffee is excellent and flows like a river, my cup was never empty. Every server we have interacted with has been A+, all EXTREMELY attentive and polite. Food always comes out fast, fresh, and hot even when they are busy. I highly recommend eating here. Next time your going to spend $10 on fast food and be disappointed in it on the first bite, stop in here, take an extra 15 minutes and enjoy a delicious, real, breakfast.“

“I cannot give a higher rating to a burger joint in Michigan and I would put them up against any burger spot nation wide. What makes Nonla amazing is the quality ingredients, quick and friendly service, and incredible rotating special menu. The classic burger is a thing of beauty. Lacy beef perfectly grilled to crispy perfection surrounding a perfectly cooked center slathered in American cheese, crisp lettuce, onions and a sauce that is reminiscent of YumYum sauce. All in all a near perfect burger. The Nonla way takes your experience to a whole new level with the addition of thinly sliced jalepeños, perfectly cool slices of cucumber, cilantro, and grilled onions takes this to a Bahn Mi esque experience that makes it truly a culinary delight. I live thirty minutes away and willing make the journey as much as my wife allows. The vegetarian options are not an afterthought but a shining example of how to do good food for a varied audience.
