“Wow. That’s the word that comes to mind when I think of my recent experience at Burger King on Pittsfield Road. On the way home from shopping at Stop & Shop in Lenox, my son asked for food from Burger King. I can’t remember the last time I have been there. I almost said no but I am so thankful I did not. It’s a hard one to explain, since I have been to so many fast food drive-throughs in my life. Tonight was so very different. The first person I interacted with had a sense of humor (Surprising, especially since the drive-through line was so long.) But the best part was a female in the background (helping with orders) echoing his humor. I don’t remember the exact words exchanged, but as I was waiting, felt like I was being treated to a comedy show. The two of them sounded like they were having so much fun! When I arrived at the window to pick up my order they handed it to me with a smile. I’m writing this because, in today’s world, what I experienced tonight is rare. I am quite sure these employees do not make a living wage. And yet, they show up at Burger King WITH a sense of humor! Thank you to all of you who show up with a smile. ✨“

Recently, he noticed I made a mistake on my online order where I forgot to substitute meat for a different protein(I’m vegetarian) and asked if I would liked it to be corrected. I had an incident where I got meat in my meal, forever ago; it was a simple mistake, but I got unnecessarily upset at them, he was there, and fixed it! This woman could sell a sandwich to someone who just finished Thanksgiving dinner. Absolute pro. The place was spotless—like “mom’s coming over in 10 minutes” clean - she was already wiping things down when I walked in. She matched my energy instantly: calm, cool, collected… meanwhile I’m two minutes away from eating the napkins out of hunger.

We had a quick, wholesome life chat while she crafted (yes, crafted) the most elite 6” sandwich I’ve ever consumed. I’m talking Michelin-star energy in sub form. I went in broke and starving, and if I had an extra $20 on me, I would’ve thrown it at her like she just performed a magic trick.
