“Some of the best diner food I’ve had, the biscuits and gravy were fire, the pancakes were crispy yet fluffy. Service was fantastic. My partner and I ordered so much food, and ate pretty much all of it. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating after we were full.“
“Our server was Sarah, and she was great. My husband asked for a recommendation on what to order and she suggested the BBQ burger (I forget the name of it) and he loved it. The chili was delicious (spicy AND sweet) and they have ice cream (Michigan Pothole!)! We were visiting from Ann Arbor, and if we are in the area we would absolutely eat here again!“
“They have old fashion malts and shakes!!!! We are talking hand dipped ice cream and real whole milk. Choice of flavors chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and cherry (at least I think cherry). They serve breakfast all day, hamburgers and other sandwiches and dinners.I enjoyed a cheeseburger, way too many french fries and an old fashion rootbeer float. There was enough to share; well the float and fries that is.Parking is behind the building, with plenty of indoor seating. Or use the drive up window.“

“The Pub is a hometown favorite! Thomas and crew have been doing allot with the place l. You want a good bar food and drinks this is the spot to go. Their boneless bbq wings and spicy cheese balls my all time favorite. They even do salads for those wanting a healthier option fyi they are BIG!! The staff is amazing and even when it's packed busy and full they make sure that you are taken care of. It's a go to for a Friday night dinner with friends or a Pub lunch is always a good time.“
“Went in today sat sept.30 worst service ever..I sat down .I watched 5 tables of people sit down they were brought menus had their coffees and water brought out and there orders taken . I then had to call one of the 3 waitress over and ask it I was invisible..she said o we are busy ..I told her when I cam in you were not that busy then told me my order would take 30 to 40 minutes now I said I sat before 5 tables I pointed then out ..but she just said o we are busy ...to bad service sucks“
“My wife and I came in for the special dinner. The bartender, Darla, even though she was very busy was still very attentive. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and the smoked prime rib dinner. All of which was amazing. It was cooked exactly how we ordered it. The portion sizes were just enough. This was our first time here after just moving into the area and will for sure be back. Very clean, great food and very friendly staff.“

“This was a spur of the moment stop, saw pics of the Burgers online and they looked delicious! Decided to give them a try and it was well worth it! I got a deluxe Cheeseburger & hubby got the olive burger. They were great & the service and atmosphere were excellent!A sign on their mirror behind the bar says where friends become family & I believe it just from the snippets that I heard of conversations around us. We will be visiting again!“
“This place is now called the Base but they have the same menu as advertised on their website. We went really early during a snow storm but the food was amazing. Pizza and Mac and cheese were amazing. Our waitress was awesome and attentive. We will definitely be back to try some other things.“

“I was only for in town for one evening, but I have a feeling this would be my go to spot for an evening beer if I lived anywhere near here. Beautiful views in the back and folks were friendly to a couple of out of towners I'm what definitely has a local bar vibe.“
“The food is far better than typical bar food. However, the atmosphere is exactly that, a bar. The service exceeds that of much nicer restaurants. The servers are prompt, friendly, and helpful. The value for the price is also reasonable. We were there for a birthday party. It was an early dinner, and it was a pleasant space for a family oriented dinner. I imagine it's a great place for a guys/girls night on the weekend. I'll be making my way back there for sure.“
“This old gem needs to live on forever. Went recently with my wife and it was like traveling back in time. It was exactly the same as it was when I would go there with my grandparents as a kid.Also, huge plus, they still have a breakfast buffet!! That's why we went. That's not the only reason though, the food is always delicious.Word of advice though, the claw machines suck!! Avoid them like the plague, they're a scam like most are anymore. The claws don't even close on them. :( I remember when claw machines were a game of skill, not a rip off that is programmed to pay out only after a certain amount of money has gone in the machine.“
“Up until recently, I have been going to Mr. Don's consistently for years. They have been my go-to place for good food served by great people. Oh how I wish I didn't have to move! I have only had an issue on time, and it was just a small simple mistake of the wrong toppings on my burger. This is definitely the place for a good time. Mr. Don's still is the cheapest place to grab a bite of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And they do all 3 meals amazingly!I must say, if you are health conscious, I would double check if you're ok with some greasy food. Don't go here consistently if you don't want to get diabetes from their deep-fried Oreos or oatmeal cream pies!Overall, 10/10, would move back to Battle Creek just to go there again!“
“Stopped in for lunch with 9 people. We were seated right away and our server was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is dated. Could use a decor refresh. Food took a little while to come out, but we were a large group so it was somewhat expected. Food was average bar food. Nothing too exciting.“
