“Hidden gem in bham. We frequent a few very authentic Mexican places in Oakland county and wow this place really impressed my wife and I. Add it to the list of awesome authentic tacos and more.Stopped in for a quick bite during lunchtime and everything was on point. The quesadillas were some of the best we have ever had, the cheese was grilled on a griddle and they were packed full of meat. We tried the steak and steak/sausage. Added on a couple of amazing al pastor tacos.Overall the marinades for the meat really made this place stand out. Excellent tomatillo salsa along with pico. And the prices are very reasonable. Everything was super fresh. The restaurant was very clean.Certainly will be back when in the area. Give it a shot. The service was really quick too.“
“At first glance everything seems to be on the expensive side but the food was delicious and everything tasted fresh. The tortilla chips were fried to perfection and the cilantro fries were amazing with the dipping sauces they came with (we tried the chimichurri and the chipotle ranch). The mini churros was a nice way to end the meal and my leftovers were just as good the second day. We will be back again for sure!“
“I am telling you right now that if you haven’t had the Smash Butger yet, you need to run, not walk, run to Essin and pick one up!! I’ve never had a bad meal here but this burger is next level!!! I would have added a photo but there wasn’t time…“
“I had been hoping to find a good taco truck since I moved here. Glad I finally did, AND I can walk there from my place. I'd say that's perfect. Love an authentic taco with tender, juicy meat and a side of rice. I'll have to try the quesadilla next time.“
“This place is incredible. Best taco joint I've ever been to. And that includes Arizona where I live and ??. Corrina was wonderful. The Queso Birria is a must try. Carnitas and Asada were spot on. I loved it!! Thank you for an amazing experience.“
“My 3 friends and I came in on a busy taco Tuesday night and all of our food was so delicious and came out so fast!! This is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to for sure, especially for it being our first time eating here. Shout out to the owner and staff they’re amazing and I’d rate the food and service a defiant 1000/10.“
“Food was delicious. Highly recommend the three buds to start (fire roasted elote queso and Mexican corn dip were amazing) and the glazed orange taco. Jacob was our server, he was very attentive, friendly and made the whole experience better!“
“Stopped by for a quick dinner on a Tuesday night. The place wasn't busy, so the staff was able to give me plenty of attention. These are down-to-earth folks; easy to talk to and very friendly. The food was fantastic! I had the sliders and fries, and not only did the food taste good, but it was presented in a subtly unique way. I highly recommend The Alley Cat!“
“Try the sonorans. Sounds weird but they’re so good. I get mine with their trio salsa sampler and a jalapeño marg—ask for tajin on the rim.One negative—at the bar they have a photo of the Virgin Mary that opens up to Johnny Cash (if I remember correctly, might be someone else) flipping the bird. Just kind of crass for kids, especially if you’re Catholic.Parking: Park in lot behind the restaurant“
“We hired Ruckus Tacos to cater our daughter’s graduation party. The food was amazing!! We ordered the chicken, short rib and cauliflower tacos. They were all so delicious!! All of our guests loved the tacos as well. Jeremy was a pleasure to work with in planning the event. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others!!“
“I see this truck almost daily, and it has been on our food quest to finally try it. I know Birria is trendy at the moment, but it is so good! This has hand down won the best birria in Michigan so far that I have tasted. The best thing was the quesobirria taco trio that came with the broth. The broth is good, you can drink it like a soup when you run out of items to dip in it. The tacos were fresh, cheesy, meaty, crunchy, all of the right combinations a taco should be. The birria meat is quite succulent and tender, very well flavored. It also came with a nice flavored red sauce. Not sure what is was, had a nice mild spice. We also got the birria pizza. I'm obsessed with birria pizza concept and this is a good one. It came with the consume broth, limes, a green sauce (maybe tomatillo?), and a red sauce, both sauces had a nice spiciness, plus some sour cream. I have not had too many of these, but this is the best one so far. We also tried the birria ramen, which was meaty cheesy noodle goodness. I would order all of those again. We tried the aqua fresco de jamaica, which I did not love, but the horchata was good. We ordered the street corn. It was okay, but excessively salty with not enough cheese or mayo, and it seemed to have tajin, but no chamoy. But when I ate it the next day, put on more mayo, some parm and mozzarella cheese, and it added a whole new level to it. The individuals here are very nice. They made the food in a sufficiently fast amount of time. They have a variety of food on their menu with daily specials. I would like to try their vampire taco and their torta next. The only thing about this place (that other people have commented on too) is that it is a bit pricey. So we spent quite a bit on what we ordered. The taco trio was $16 and the pizza was $27. But would I recommend those items? Yes. Would I personally order them again? Yes. They were that good and this is definitely a truck to watch out for or come find.“
“Had the Taco Trio ($12.00…. Great deal!) with Fried Beef Birria tacos, they were excellent! The trio comes with your choice of taco, rice, beans and since we had the Birria tacos it also came with consume to dip the tacos in. So much flavor, beef was very tender! Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area!“
“We had the pleasure of trying this taco truck when it recently visited our subdivision. We had to try a lot of the items and they were all tasty.Birria tacos were nice and cheesy, with tender meat. If you buy 3 you get free consome, but this dip wasn't our favorite, we definitely preferred their salsa instead.Speaking of their salsa, we asked for the hot and it was pleasantly warm, full of spice and flavor. One of the best salsas I've eaten in my life.Pork tamale was good, I can envision buying a half or full dozen. We had two traditional style Pastor and Barbarbacoa tacos that were both fulfilling our Mexican traditional taco craving. We had an asada torta which was our least favorite item because it was a soft texture throughout the whole sandwich. Wish there was a crispness or something they could modify. Just felt a bit mushy. In total, we will definitely have to check the truck out in its normal spot for tacos(traditional or birria) or tamales with that tasty hot salsa!“
“Had a late-night taste for a carryout bbq beef ribs so i called the House of Barbeque 30 minutes before closing and they were 86 on beef ribs (understandable since it was 30 minutes before closing) so I opted for a slab of pork ribs. I was pleasantly surprised! Tasty, tender, perfectly smoked pork ribs and the sauce.....MMMMM Good!!! Had the opportunity to speak with the Master Chef/Owner of this hidden gem in Clawson and trust me, after satisfying my late-night craving....I will be back! If the rest of the House of Barbeque's fare is as good as the pork ribs (and I'm sure it is), I'll be one of your best customers. Clawson and surrounding communities, this is the real deal!!! Check it out!“
“This is my go to place for Mexican food in Birmingham. Next to Market Northend, smaller and also accessible when you have no reservations elsewhere. The servers are incredible, the drinks they come up with are always great - especially if you love Mezcal.I typically order the “Big Mac” Slider special, ceviche, or the Fajita Bowl. It’s like a chipotle bowl, but higher quality. The desserts are super delicious, you have to get them both.“
