“Authentic Chinese food, authentic Sichuan cuisine. Is it the best out there, probably not, but better than a lot of other popular Chinese restaurant in metro Detroit. The have American Chinese food items too so everyone can enjoy what they like. Food is great, everything we order is on point, except for the dried fish. I think if the stove is hotter and the pan has a higher temperature, the fish and the spices (garlic, chillis) will be less soggy.“

“Came here twice this week I've been meaning to try this place for some time! I had a failed meal prep and didn't have much time so this place definitely fit the bill. They were a little over the time that they quoted for pick up which was 20 minutes but that's OK because I'd rather my food be hot and still being cooked and sitting there getting cold for time passing. The staff is very friendly. I don't know why people have been saying they aren't. The place is a little bit older but what can you expect? It's a great Chinese place. You're there for the food not the decor and also it's pretty much a carryout place considering there is only a couple tables to begin with Not really much of a dining room. I had ordered beef egg, foo young lunch portion for both days and both portions were the same and cooked with fresh ingredients. The portions are massive even for lunch. I do recommend coming in and ordering instead of using all the apps you can save some money there. Looking forward to making my regular Chinese spot when I am getting carry out at work. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu.“

“Ordered chicken lo mein and general tsos chicken — the general tsos chicken was perfect! The flavor was excellent. I liked the shrimp egg roll and the chicken lo mein, but I definitely liked the general tsos the most. It was so affordable too. Only $22 for both meals. I’ll definitely be back.“

“This China Chef on Mack Avenue in the block adjacent to Grosse Pointe Woods City Offices and the Police Department has the most consistently delicious shrimp fried rice I have ever eaten. “Good was delicious and plentiful. Definitely would buy from again. Maybe if you want something added, ask for it next time ( read a lot of complaints about onions not in the fried rice) but it was delicious. Sweet and Sour sauce served as a side…perfect so the chicken doesn’t get soggy (and yes it would thicken if you let it cool-another response to a bad review). Overall, would definitely recommend. Dumplings were fantastic, soup was full of wontons.“

“I have been looking for an actual "good" Chinese take out. As most Chinese in the Royal oak, Ferndale, Oak park area are bellow average bland Chinese. I got word that Madison heights has some great Chinese spots so I gave Chao Zhou a chance and I was immediately hooked. You can taste the quality in this food.

Chao Zhou sticks out from the rest and is something I can definitely recommend people try. Probably the best General Tao's chicken I've had in a long time. The Singapore noodles was another stand out option that I also loved.

The soup was on the lower end of hot and sour soups I've had. If I return to this place, I wouldn't order it again. The General Tso's, however, was excellent. It wasn't groundbreaking, or especially unique, but it was delicious. The quantity bolstered the enjoyment- one could easily get two meals out of it as I did. I rarely order fried rice, but this place served excellent fried rice.

The service was excellent. It was quick, efficient, and pleasant. The lady who took my order was very nice, and I had my food within 15 minutes.

The atmosphere wasn't anything to write home about, it was a hole-in-the wall carry out restaurant, but it did its job.“

“They have a fish in a sauce similar to oil, it is a little spicy but it is delicious right now I don't remember the name but it is the best (the fish I am referring to is not fried)

As a recommendation, each order comes with an additional order of white rice, if there are only 2 people, do not order the white rice, make the comment so the food is not lost ❤️“

“Hello Everyone I Ordered the S&S Chicken,Fried rice with all the meats, crab Rangoon, egg roll, fried crab claws. Food prep took 20 min longer than advised time.The rice was very flavorful lots of meat and CLEAN shrimp but just a tad bit on the dry side.The chicken was crispy hot and delicious. Crab Rangoon light and golden, eggrolls were great too! They were out of the deep fried crab claws i was kinda bummed but I'll try next time. All condiment and sauce i asked for were provided and server was very polite!“
