Always enjoy going to Sheila’s for dessert. Great prices too!
As a longtime fan of Mexicantown bakery, I was advised by a friend to try Sheila's. I was pleasantly surprised by the choices, trays and tongs which made shopping for treats really fun. Everyone was friendly and the pastry was reasonably priced and delicious. The only suggestion is signs saying what the baked goods are. But for me, the surprise was part of the fun.
This cake bakery has the most beautiful cakes and pastries! They were gracious, kind, and very patient with me because I was unsure of what to put on my son's 17th birthday cake! They took time with me and helped me decorate the most beautiful cake by making suggestions and adding things to really make it stand out! The cake is very affordable and delicious! This is my new cake place for any and all occasions!

Sheila's Bakery is a well-known local bakery in the heart of Southwest Detroit, offering a wide range of Mexican pastries, including delectable cheesecakes, flan, and tres leches cakes. The bakery is known for its homemade decorative cakes for any occasion. Customers can also find fresh tamales sold by independent vendors in the parking lot, and there are often taco trucks available outside, providing an added bonus for visitors.
The ham and jalapeños croissants are very good, and the cookies are very large. The cheese cake did not have the consistency of a standard New York cheesecake, as it was loose and jiggly. However, the cheesecake is probably the best the customers have ever had. There are also many other desserts to choose from, all of which look amazing. The whole cakes are beautiful and look amazing as well. Customers have had requests for the cake and chocolate muffins.
