15 Best Chinese Restaurants near Dexter

“We have lived in the Dexter area for 10 years and grateful to have this restaurant in our community! Unfortunately, we've noticed a degredation in the dine-in cleanliness.
Historically speaking, we've had a good experience during lunch and the lunch specials are a great value. As for carry out, our experience has been mixed -- sometimes really good, sometimes we're disappointed. I think it depends on who is cooking that day. For example, once we ordered vegetable fried rice, it was amazing, full of crispy fresh vegetables and a great assortment. Other times it was severely lacking with a minimal amount of peas and carrots with no crunch of freshness (like the frozen variety) -- you just never know what you will get.
Yesterday we ate inside. Egg drop soup was good. Vegetable Egg Foo Young just so-so, I've had better in the past. Double Dragon was good and had a good assortment of fresh vegetables.
The real disappointment was the cleanliness of the bathroom and the extremely poor condition of the fish tank. There was a black ring around the toliet bowl (looks like it hadn't been cleaned in months), sink & faucet and overall bathroom surroundings had not been tended to either. Same with the fish tank. Half the water was evaporated, was filthy greenish brown and smelled horrible. Clearly the tank hadn't been cleaned in months, likely the filter either. Those poor fish:(

“Impressed with the experience I had here. Food came out fast and hot, the atmosphere was nice, our waitress Brooke was very personable. Great to see this location improving. Would definitely go back my experience was a 5/5 and I loved the employee and how they stay on top of refills for all their tables. “Ordered lo mein with pork in a combo. Was given a pretty small portion of lo mein, and a big portion of fried rice. The noodles were great. Very thick and chewy, and had a good flavor. Could've used A LOT more meat, but whatever. The fried rice was gross. It had almost no vegetables, it had a weird texture, and tasted like it was from a package. I've never seen rice served with a noodle dish before. The spring roll that came with the combo was just OK. The filling was mushy and not very flavorful. Our fortune cookies were smashed to bits.“

Vegetarian options: Like all American Chinese joints of coarse it veggie options. I'm also sure if you asked they'd make your the way you like.“

“Dining in, lady was rude. Restaurant was cold, felt like no heat on in dining room. Food got cold very quickly, especially the soup. Carry out is the best option in winter month's. Apparently owner trying to conserve on heat bill...burrrrr!!!“

“When you visit hot pot chen you need to make sure you get the black menu. The black menu contains their authentic and specialty dishes and makes this restaurant one of the top Chinese restaurants in the Ann Arbor area. They have really mastered fried meats with a crispy and spicy coating. Their noodle soups are also really impressive with deep and well balanced flavors. Overall, an excellent restaurant for flavorful and authentic Chinese food.“

“Great food and consistently high quality. Everything tastes very fresh and you can tell the ingredients are top-notch. I tried their new beef noodle soup and it was very authentic. The hand-pulled noodles were perfectly chewy and tasted freshly made. Our family favorites are the pork buns and chicken buns, we get them every time. The shumai is also delicious. Highly recommend Bao Space!“

“The new menu revamp(as of 10/25/24) is great! We had the shrimp ramen and sesame chicken, portion sizes were large and the quality was greatly improved. Our takeout order was ready quickly. We finished off our meal with the cheesecake and it's delicious. Friday night the place
was packed with people! I'm looking forward to going here more often!!!“

“I gave 5 stars because I always really enjoy coming to this location. The staff is really friendly & they seem to all work together really well. However, I have stopped going to Panda Express entirely because I don't like that they don't willingly provide customers with sauce cups anymore. This isn't unique to this location so I don't want to punish them for it. This location will at least accommodate me if I ask for one & I can't say the same for other locations. I just feel bad whenever I ask for one & it makes me feel like Panda Express doesn't value me as a customer. I only ask for them if I'm buying the rangoons or an egg roll but it baffles me that I have to ask & the staff seems reluctant to provide me one every time.

The sauce cups probably cost less than $0.25 as a company so making me ask for one, especially if I'm spending money on sides, just doesn't sit right with me.“

“It was almost closing time when I entered the store. My service was quick and very efficient. The young woman was very patient as I placed my order. I apologized for arriving late because I knew the workers would be ready to get off for the evening. The young woman assured me it was no problem and to take my time. She actually made me feel like a valued customer; which is unusual these days. I offered her a gratuity and she declined and said they didn't accept tips. She had a smile when I came in and her positive attitude never wavered. Her name is Brianna. She is the kind of employee that I would want working for my business. I'm hoping that she will be recognized for the excellent service that she provided.“
