“I like many of you, like using the review score when making purchase decisions. I never just look at the score. I look for the number of reviews and I try to find helpful reviews to give me more incite into what I may be getting into. My wife works in a business where the reviews really matter for bringing in new customers. She often talks about the long-time customers who keep returning but have never left a review. Those are really the voices that should matter more to people who want an honest review of the company they are looking into. Unfortunately, even though I like looking at reviews, I seldom leave one unless I'm very satisfied with the company or really disappointed. In both cases, I leave my emotions aside and tell things as I experience them. This means that if everything wasn't perfect, I don't ding them for minor stuff. I give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have those days when we aren't at our best. When I read bad reviews about restaurants that I frequent often, I wonder about the person leaving the review. I feel that they are either competitors with malicious intent, someone who didn't try to listen to resolve whatever issues they perceived to be happening, or simply someone who's looking for a reason and is too hard to please in the first place. So with all that out of the way, let me get to the Lim's Star review. I love Chinese food and it's one of the first things I looked for locally when I bought my house 10 years ago. There are several in what I would consider my drivable area. Lim's Star is in my top 5 or higher depending on what dish I'm looking for. 10 years means I've been coming there since before the current owner. Do I miss the dinner rolls? Not really, since I get better quality food and personalization of meals on request. The new owner knows us on sight and remembers what we like to order. He even allows us to modify the ingredients to our liking. He is very friendly and will engage in small talk to get to know his customers better. We eat at or buy takeout from Lim's Star at least once a month, sometimes more. Has everything always been perfect? No, but I really can't recall the last time I was dissatisfied with my order or service. Based on my long review, I'm hoping you can tell I have had many enjoyable meals from and experiences with Lim's Star. Seriously! If you are on the fence or willing to try something new in your area, start with a dish you know to compare. I doubt you will be disappointed in your comparison. Mark J.“

“First time trying Ah-Ha and was very pleasantly surprised. The crab & shrimp boil was delicious but the cajun seasoning could have been spicier. I was thrilled to find marinated pork belly as the pork in my noodles (pork and vegetable option). This was a "need a towel, not a napkin" kind of meal - messy and great! We will definitely be back.“

Impeccable interior, with the added plus of the Jia Bar Connected and owned by the same owners. Stop and have a craft cocktail at Jia then 10 steps into the China Cafe through the door and be prepared for a fantastic experience! Owners are absolute gems as well.“

“Amazing food and helpful happy service. Fun to watch the chef prep the hand pulled noodles. Food is very good, nice broth and ingredients are fresh. Tables and room if open so with a large crowd it can get noisy. We came for lunch and it was busy but not very loud. We had the Beef la mien , bbq pork la mien and the schzeuan noodles. “I love that you can choose exactly what you want in your mala tang. There’s a great variety of fresh vegetables and different types of noodles.

The clear Chinese glass noodles are my absolute favorite. They’re chewy and have such a fun texture. The only downside is that they’re so slippery that they’re really hard to pick up with chopsticks. But honestly, I can’t give them up! They also have a good selection of fish balls, and I always add Chinese sausage because it makes the mala tang flavor even richer. The thinly sliced beef is almost like shabu-shabu style—super thin and perfect for the soup.

I also spotted something very unusual at the counter. Actually, “unusual” might be an understatement—it was a little shocking: fried chicken bones. Are you actually supposed to eat the bones? 😳 The whole idea of eating chicken bones is just not for me, and honestly, it didn’t look very appetizing either.

Anyway, my mala tang was delicious, and that’s what matters!“

I got the General Tso Chicken and it was good but had literally zero percent spiciness. I suspect I was supposed to ask for some level of spice when I ordered so maybe that was my fault“

We were amazed the shrimonerre not the little bay shrimp we have often seen used in fried rice, but rather, legit prawns. The almond chicken was a generous portion with a crispy coating and tender inside. The sauce on the tofu was tasty.

“I have moved farther North. 3 years now. Lived just up the street off 9 Mile. But there was no other Chinese food I loved and now long for than Dynasty, I miss them. But most importantly they delivered to our apartment complex. The young guy that delivered was going through college and he was such a cool kid I would tip him extra. Talkative and friendly. The other reviews mentioned the food is only available for pick up. There are no seating options available inside the restaurant. I ordered the sesame chicken and it was very good. The portions are very generous. I will definitely return to try something else.
