“May's Bakery & Country Store did an incredible job on our custom sheet cake. Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious. White cake with confetti filling on one side and chocolate cake with Oreo filling on the other. They did exactly what we asked, it was ready on schedule, and everyone LOVED it. Everything we’ve tried at the bakery has been delicious, the country store has many treats and treasures, and the staff are so kind. If you’re in the Downriver area and haven’t been to May’s, get there!“

Mary is knowledgeable and welcoming every time I visit :) This bakery truly stands out not just in the realm of gluten-free options but stands as a great bakery period. Offering a menu filled with delicious savoury and sweet treats. What I love most about this place is their commitment to clean, whole food ingredients. It’s rare to find a bakery that prioritizes such ingredients while still delivering on flavour, but Mary’s does it beautifully! And I love anything made with maple syrup, coconut sugar, and honey! “So I drove 30 minutes just to check this place out and I will say it was a great experience. I am a gestational diabetic who loves Sweets so for me this was a win. I am just so happy that I am able to find a place to get sweet treats, but not have my Sugar spiked. I got the cherry chip cupcake, cheesecake, and the moose cup and everything was delicious. Could not even tell it was zero sugar definitely is a go to ….everybody should come and support this business.“

“I had to prepare some food for a potluck, but I had a pretty full schedule. I called Liberati's and they were able to accommodate me on about 36 hours notice with 3 of their 3' party subs. They were on time and ready when I arrived and Frank himself helped to load them into my car. I wasn't ready for what came next: texts, mail, and messages all saying thank you for a great contribution and half of them asking me where to get them. You clearly can't go wrong with LIberati's.“

“Tammy made a custom panda/bear cake for my partner’s 50th birthday to be similar to his first birthday cake. Tammy did a good job despite having difficulty with the cake in store and having to bake a whole new cake. It turned out very nice and tasted delicious.“

“I have really enjoyed the ice cream bunny cakes I've purchased in the past years. Unfortunately, this year is different. The cookie on the face of the bunny was completely unedible. It had a very strange flavor and left a bad aftertaste. We didn't even try the tail cookie. All the inside cake and ice cream and frosting was delicious though.“

“First of all, I’m so glad to finally have a Cinnabon much closer to home. It was sooo delicious, hot, and fresh out of the oven. I did have to wait quite a bit for it (about 12-15 mins), because they had just put more in the oven. But I honestly had no problem waiting for it because I knew how fresh they would be, despite that though the staff repeatedly apologized for the wait, and offered to give me something for free, I said no it’s okay but he insisted and gave me a free glittery raspberry lemonade, also he didn’t charge me for the extra icing. The food, and staff were equally great! Will be a regular lol. Thank you guys again! 💚“

“The place has friendly staff, delicious food, nice drinks, and the inside is a good mix of Instagram chic and nods to the historical building.
It was quite busy when I went but we were able to get a table and service still moved at a good pace.
The pricing makes it more of a treat than an every day place but it is very well worth it. The creme brulee cookie is a must eat item but I don't think you can go wrong with anything there.“

“Today 4/22/2022 we had a disappointing experience with our purchase at The Pasty Shop. I ordered (2) regular beef pasties at 2:00 for pickup at 4:00. When I got them home and cut into them they were extremely dry, had no onion, and the inside of the crust was burnt. I have dealt with the pasty shop for many years and this purchase was very disappointing. Wayne A previously loyal customer“
