“I'm Editing this review because I'm turned off by the employees smoking cigarettes outside. Part of the reason why I don't come here as often.

I'm not against peoples choices in their habits, I'm more turned off by the employees sitting on the bench next to the ice cream place and the few times going into the bakery, the employees smelled of cigarettes.

“The absolute best little bakery and cafe. Everything and I mean everything is delicious. It’s all home made from scratch and so so so good. It’s one of those places you can take anybody to and they’ll find something yummy to eat. It feels so good to be able to go out with my little daughter and be able to feed her good food she actually is excited to eat. A very special place!

Kid-friendliness: They are SO good about your littles. My girl loves everything there, cookies, sandwiches, soups, quiche. The staff is super kid-friendly. We go so often, my 2 year old girl loves them all!“

Sun-dried tomato and basil cheese tart, warmed up with the cheese becoming gooey

Cinnamon roll croissant also warmed up, delicious

I docked 1 star for the unkind behavior of the brunette ponytailed barista. We bought an unhoused gentleman a coffee. He was with a walker and could hardly move. When the barista brought out his coffee, he asked her for cold water. She looked at him in disgust and walked away. I gave her a few mins to bring the water. When I realized she wasn’t going to, I walked over and demanded she give him the water. It was a hot, humid day. We already paid for his drink, it really didn’t need to go like that.

Besides that, all the cashiers were friendly and knowledgeable.“

“May's Bakery & Country Store did an incredible job on our custom sheet cake. Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious. White cake with confetti filling on one side and chocolate cake with Oreo filling on the other. They did exactly what we asked, it was ready on schedule, and everyone LOVED it. Everything we’ve tried at the bakery has been delicious, the country store has many treats and treasures, and the staff are so kind. If you’re in the Downriver area and haven’t been to May’s, get there!“

“I love visiting this patisserie whenever I’m in Dearborn Heights. Everything here is phenomenal. If you have a sweet tooth you will love this place. Their chocolate chip cookies are easily one of my favorites, and the drinks are always so good too. It’s the perfect spot to meet up with friends, catch up, or even get some studying done. The space is super spacious with plenty of seating, which makes it such a comfortable place to stay awhile.“

“Popped in on our roadtrip coming home on the hunt for a donut. I was beyond surprised by the style and quality of the fritters! First of all, the size of these fritters is crazy! I’ve never had a donut this large! I ordered the apple and the strawberry as I couldn’t decide which one. I was so impressed with the style and the quality of the donut. It tastes and feels like a beautiful bread with glaze and delicious filling with real fruit! Probably one of the most elite donuts I have ever had.
