“This is a really small store, with a drive-through and about 10 seats. Very clean inside. Three or four young ladies working and I was very impressed! They were friendly and courteous, they managed a good level of customers with no issues, and the tacos were great!“

“My granddaughter and I went here for dinner before attending the Candle Light Hip Hop Concert. We enjoyed the Chorizo Mandu dumplings (really loved the dipping sauce) and 10 K-Town wings with the Sweet Gochuchang glaze as our appetizers. Both delicious. We both ordered the Milk Bread Birria Grilled Cheese which is my personal favorite. The Birria dipping sauce is quite tasty. Keep vowing to order something different but it’s so good! We both had to take half of our sandwiches home because we were so full. Our server was very nice and attentive, the staff here always are. We got here just shortly after they opened so there were only a few other people inside, and it was also the super cold below freezing Friday night. But we enjoyed every bit of it.“

“While I love the flavor of their food, the only time we've had an order 100% correct was the first time we ordered. Every time we order since then there's something missing, fries overcooked and hard, messed up items, and things added to what we've ordered when we've requested it to be removed. Thankfully I simply don't like tomatoes and onions and am not allergic to them, cuz they ALWAYS forget to remove the pico when my receipt even says "no pico de gallo". Their queso blanco and their Sabor sauce are probably the two best things about them, at least when they remember to include it even if you pay for extra. For how pricey they are I would expect to have my order correct all the time. I'll be going down to the taco trucks in Southwest Detroit from now on cuz they always get the order right, they're delicious, AND they're inexpensive.“

Food took about 5 minutes to show up but fish was hot, corn tortillas were fresh, medium salsa was perfect, and beans / rice were tasty. I have one more day of duty, might stop in again. Inside was a bit warm, could have turned the AC up as air was a bit stagnant at the tables but food quality was excellent and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.Update: came back, AC was on. “El Loco Panda is located at Alter and Mack, attached to the Marathon/WOW! gas station. It has a hole-in-the-wall vibe, but don't judge a book by its cover. The owner and chef, MJ, also known as Panda, is half Lebanese, half Mexican, and is originally from Los Angeles. His multicultural background is reflected in the menu, which features a mix of American, Mexican, and Middle Eastern options.

I first discovered El Loco Panda while searching for local birria tacos online. These alone are worth coming here for. MJ uses pomegranate juice in his recipe, which is a unique touch. I've also had the chicken and steak tacos, as well as the quesadillas. Between the two meats, I preferred the steak for both. The tacos come topped with lettuce and tomato, but I recommend ordering them without. The smash burger is another standout menu item. For this style of burger, the patties are on the larger side. Compared to its nearby competitors, El Loco Panda is one of the better spots to grab a burger.

In conclusion, El Loco Panda excels in convenience and variety. The food is simple, but well above average. MJ's affable personality and passion for his craft add to the overall experience.“
