“Best tacos in the area. Gets busy but they hustle thru to get you fantastic Mexican and some Tex-Mex staples (acá burritos).Found it interesting that even though the hosts were speaking in Spanish amongst themselves the one young lady refused to speak Spanish with other patrons.“
“Love they tacos! great customer service ' always fresh & hot . I literally can eat these tacos everyday if I could . Perfect for fall days and bring them home to eat with a movie . The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I love the fact it's family owned and everyone works together. Price does vary but with inflation totally understandable I hope and pray for there success and blessings“
“Hands down best steak taco/burrito I've ever eaten. It's worth venturing to. It's pretty inexpensive too. Spanish is spoken and cash only. It's easy to miss because it's in the parking lot behind tall fences that say farmers market right on the corner of Livernois and Toledo street.“
“We found this place on the humble and i have been going back ever since. I drive from Ypsi to eat here and they haven’t failed me yet. Tacos de Lengua con todo ? it’s amazing & prices are amazing. Anytime someone brings up the best tacos around I throw your hat in the ring. Please don’t change.“
“on point. Odd area but who cares. Service, Food, Ambiance etc. Such a great place. Don't forget your Booze as they don't serve any alcohol. My family and folks ordered just about everything off the very large menu! Lobster Quesadilla was a standout. Get the homemade soup!“
“Was looking for a new authentic Mexican food truck. Usually go to another one in the area, they blow them out the water. I got a carne asada torta, it was an 11/10. Super flavorful, extra cheese, a lot of meat and a very nice size for $12. Service was excellent and food was ready fast. Will be returning.“
“Cosmic Burrito truck had great food, excellent service and staff who was very attentive to your needs. I had them for my daughters graduation party this Friday and all the guests love the burritos offered. Food was fresh and tasty, the staff including Pablo was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this food truck to anyone. Awesome experience!! Thank you Pablo and crew!“
“I’m always hesitant to try new food trucks. It’s usually really hit or really miss.I was blown away by these tacos. The sides were good and I loved that they repped faygo for drinks but my tacos were truly explosive. Was hoping to go back the next day but then realized they were only open Sundays.“
“I'm doing a Detroit southwest Taco ? Truck ? review all summer as of right this is the best the atmosphere is like nothing other than unbelievable how Mexican Town is the Service was quick I was in and out in under 10 minutes the price was better than taco bell AND the food was oh so good ?? I will be going back 5 ?“
“I decided to try this place after seeing it listed on Instagram as a top 10 taco spot.I tried their pork Tacos, birria Tacos, chicken Tacos and chicken Nachos.I was most eager to try the birria Tacos and most disappointed to find they didn't come with the sauce/dip. I went back up to the counter to ask about it and was told they don't give it out with those tacos. He gave me some pork juice to dip my tacos in instead. The birria meat was quite dry. The pork juice/oil helped a bit to add flavor and juices. I wouldn't order them again. The chicken and pork Tacos were also just OK. Nothing special.I was most impressed by the nachos. It's a gigantic portion of food that could easily be shared by multiple people and the price was cheap at ten bucks. The customer service was lacking because there was quite a language barrier. Items were added to my order that I didn't order and the person taking my order wasn't able to answer most of my questions. I think it's important to speak Spanish or you are quite familiar with this food truck menu to fully enjoy this business. They have several locations, maybe I'll try the other locations to see if their tacos are top ten tier.Parking: The parking lot is quite congested because this location is in a Plaza that has a busy store and ice cream shop.“
“Food was really good. We ordered a taco dinner and quesadillas. However, I received something I didn’t order. I didn’t want to correct my order because it was a challenge to order the first time. Though it was a couple of tables to eat outside, we decided to eat in our car. The parking lot was full of patrons.“
“Great place. We had asada and carnitas tacos, both were great! The spicy salsas (red and green) are very tasty and go very well with the tacos. Rice and beans are ok. The jamaica and tamarindo water are delicious. The only thing that can be improved are the chips (could use more salt) and the chips salsa, it is very bland. Service was great, all the staff was very friendly and the food came very fast. We will definitely go back“

“My boyfriend and I was staying at the hotel by here for the night and he came across this place and THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL!!!! definitely will be coming back too eat here! everything was fresh and the chicken for the bowls WAS SO YUMMY!!!“
“I have only eaten from the trailer, but it’s better BBQ ribs than some of the so called BBQ places. The staff is friendly always and very efficient with the buzzer for when your order is ready. The price is in line with most for the quality you receive. When I’m lazy and want it right now it’s my go to spot! They have cured my fears of non traditional indoor dining from an outdoor spot. Keep up the good job!Parking: Look for the red building and the aroma of grilled food.“
“First time in this cozy little place. Booth seating to one side and a bar on the other. It's got a cool eclectic vibe, very clean. We were promptly sat and a server was there with menus and water and took our drink order. The menu is small but covers all the bases nicely. The chips arrived hot and the salsa made in house while we waited for our food which wasn't long. Nothing pretentious going on here just solid well prepared and fresh. Portions were generous and the prices fair. We've found another little gem! I would have given 4.5 stars simply for the fact that the dusty musty 70s one hit wonder ambient music included the theme from Greatest American Hero. A lot of you will be too young to remember lol.“
“After returning to Detroit from the vibrant streets of Mexico, where the sun always shines, I found solace in the comforting embrace of El Brazon. Tucked away amidst the gray and cold skies, this gem of a restaurant beckoned me with promises of authentic Mexican flavors.Navigating through the inconspicuous rear entrance from the parking lot, we found ourselves welcomed into a cozy interior. While reservations are advisable, we managed to secure a table for two without much delay. Although the decor leaned towards simplicity, it served as a stark contrast to the explosion of flavors awaiting us in the dishes.Opting for indoor seating over the covered outdoor area, we were promptly attended to by the bustling staff. Their efficiency ensured that our dining experience was not only swift but also filled with warmth and hospitality. We indulged in a shared salad followed by a traditional Mexican dish, both of which exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and authenticity.Remarkably, within a mere 45 minutes, we had savored every bite and found ourselves reluctantly bidding farewell to El Brazon. Its convenient parking and secure location offered a sense of ease, distinct from the hustle and bustle of downtown Detroit—a factor that drew us to this hidden culinary haven. In conclusion, for a taste of Mexico without leaving the comfort of Detroit, I wholeheartedly recommend El Brazon. From its delectable cuisine to its efficient service and cozy ambiance, it is a dining experience worth savoring time and time again.“
“As I drove up to Pollos Los Gallos I saw a column of smoking rising from the grills on the side of the building. I was a bit confused since this was my first time visiting and the building was completely bereft of any signage. But as the other reviews say, just follow your nose! I walked into to the grill area, where the cook, who was busy slathering chicken on the grill with a red sauce, directed me inside through the nondescript door on the front of the building. Ordering is really quick here. They take pre-packaged food out of a hot box, bag it up, and hand it to you. It was a little disappointing since I was expecting to get chicken fresh off the grill. Maybe during busier hours they continuously refill as customers file through? Unfortunately, I figured the earlier I went the fresher the chicken would be, but I guess I was wrong. The place was completely empty after all and I didn't see any other customer the entire time I was there. Whole Chicken Meal ($17) - Pollos Los Gallos isn't really a place you eat in so I got the bag to bring home with the delicious smell of smoked chicken and fresh corn tortillas filling the car as I drove. My first impression as I opened the box and looked at the chicken - woah, super nice char and coloring on each piece. The chicken was chopped up into smaller pieces, making things easier to eat but also increasing the number of small bones to pick through. As expected, that smoky char flavor mixed with the spice glaze on the exterior was phenomenal, but the interior even on the dark meat was dry. Again, I'm wondering if this was because it had been sitting in the hot box for a while. The meal comes with a choice of beans or rice. I got both for $1 extra. The beans were tender pinto charro beans with nice flavor and appropriately seasoned. The Mexican rice was as good as anywhere else in the area, light and fluffy and was only an extra dollar. Also included are some pickled jalapenos and red onions in a small cup. These added a good acidity from vinegar and lime juice and some spiciness from the jalapenos. Two small containers of decently spicy salsa are served on the side. I recommend moistening the chicken up by dousing it in the salsa. Finally, ten fresh hand made corn tortillas complete the meal. Put a bit of everything inside to make a delicious taco! Pollos Los Gallos is cash only, but the food is outstanding value for only $17. I'll have to revisit during the dinner rush and see if I can get fresher chicken next time.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taqueria El Nacimiento, and I can confidently say it's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever experienced. The flavors were incredibly authentic, and each dish showcased the chef's skill and passion. The customer service was top-notch, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness of the place added to the overall positive experience. If you head to Taqueria El Nacimiento you won't be disappointed!“
“What a great experience, first time visiting the Salpicon Detroit, to begin with, Pablo was super friendly, attentive and good-natured. They welcome you with a great aperitif. The atmosphere, super. I ordered a country toast. A delight... then I went for a shrimp and octopus cocktail, uff, everything was super delicious. Great experience, I will definitely visit them again with my friends.“
“I love the food here. If I can I make my way to here everyday. This is my secret burrito location. Don't tell nobody! Every morning these beautiful ladies open up for an early bird such as myself at 5am. You can't go wrong with the Deshebrada Burrito with everything on it. enjoy“
“We ordered the Birria with marinated beef and we took it home and watch the Super Bowl and we were rewarmed, and it was excellent the meat was tender and flavorful. It was the right amount of cheese, and we will definitely be going back for another one.“
“Was in the area yesterday with a coworker and stopped in for my fruit salad and apples with tamarind (both spicy and sweet). Also order a small elote and a mango/pineapple Fresca. My cravings were satisfied!Line got busy after we arrived there and customer service was overall good.“
“I love Tacos El Rodeo! The best tacos and burritos you’ll find anywhere near Detroit! The jalapeño sauce goes extra hard too! I don’t know how but when I head to Tacos El Rodeo, I get more excited than I was when OG Fortnite dropped! This is a W taco truck for sure!“
“Dined in with our family of 5, which includes 3 kids who are 11,9, and 7. Dinner was great. Food not only looked amazing but tasted the same. Service was as good as it gets. Really a great place to eat. The kids absolutely loved every bit of it. We will definitely be back.“
“I love trying new Mexican places, especially the whole in the wall... mom and pop places. Everything is homemade. NEVER ever had a salsa that tasted like theirs. I am a hot fan... it may be a little spicy for some. This place has been here for 43 years. Well they are in a new building. They were a few over, but there was a fire and now in a new building. What drew me in was the pictures on how they hook up the tostadas. To my surprise they actually have the goooddd tacos. MmmmmGo bless/support your local, small places. This is cash only establishment and they are opened everyday 10 to 7pm.“
“This Mexican taqueria is a hidden gem in downtown Detroit. Don't judge the size of this place, because the food is excellent, affordable and folks that work there are awesome. A taco lover's hotspot! They also have great burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas. It's ideal for take-out, but they have small dine in area, too. I'm always greeted warmly and the staff there aim to please their customers. Highly recommended!“
“Great taco truck, and it's only a couple blocks off the Livernois 94 exit. Immediate neighborhood isn't sketchy at all, suburbanite sensibilities won't be offended. Value, convenience, consistent quality, family small business. Exit the interstate and get some, do yourself a favor.“
“The food was absolutely delicious! Service was ok, the restaurant was very clean. There are two parking lots to choose from. They do have a few vegetarian options but not a lot. I would definitely recommendVegetarian options: Only about two vegetarian options“
“Combination of great service and great foodThe lady working there is very friendly , I believe she is the ownerThe fried chicken is delicious and reminds me of the type of fried chicken your grandma would cook All orders are made fresh , unlike fast food chains that cook the chicken and let it sit Interior was clean Highly recommend and I will be back“
“So it's an unusual place (grocery store/bar/restaurant) but sweet as F! We stopped in before visiting El Club and the bar was closed ? They opened it just for us to have a beer and a shot before our show ?? Thanks guys! I will be visiting again for tacos before the next El Club show!“
“When I first visted the market that El Taquitos Taco Truck is usually parked at, I couldn’t find the truck. But 2 days later when I went back, the truck was there next to the parking lot of E&L Supermercado. I ordered the al pastor corn taco and the tostadas de cameron. When I received my order, they were very generous with the meat portion and the amount of shrimp and toppings on the tostadas. They both tasted very good. The picture for the tostadas doesn’t do a good job of showing how big the tostada actually was, but the tostadas was loaded with a lot.“
“Very good taste on the food, very good service, the guys keep everything clean and nice and prices are very reasonable. I am from Mexico and my husband is from Michigan, we both love birria tacos and so far this has been the BEST place to have them.“
“Staff was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The space clean and organized, and the service was efficient. I ate there and ordered food to go. I had the birria tacos there, a 2 quesadillas for my coworkers and some wings. Wings weren't my favorite but i'll go back and try more from the menu.“
“Stopped here while waiting for a table at Los Galanes and I'm so glad I did! There were so many fresh treats to choose from. I was worried I was breaking the bank but I got everything I could want for $12!! Quiet and homey ambiance, churros available on weekends. Definitely worth a stop! :)“
“Moved to Detroit from Los Angeles and we were so sad to leave all the amazing Mexican food behind but when we found Los Corrales we felt right at home! Everything is fresh and flavorful! You know the foods going to be good when Tio is out back smoking the meats! 100% recommend eating here!!“
“While in Detroit I found this excellent Mexican restaurant. The service, the decor, the music and the food were all top tier. The chilaquiles with a couple fried eggs and beans with a little cotija cheese were screaming! Very authentic like mom use to make lol. The chicharrones were absolutely fire. Crunchy not greasy and the peanut sauce that comes with it is great for dipping. Love this place. Muchas gracias!“
“This place is awesome! I've been looking to find good Carne Asada tacos ever since I've left LA and this place is one of my new go-to spots! The area outside to order with the tent is chill, and you can pick up the limes and salsa to go with the order. They give you some grilled onions to go with it, which is also very awesome.“
