“We dined here for the first time this week and had an incredible experience. The ambience and quality of service really stood out to us. The build out of the space is also beautiful. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Detroit. We especially recommend the chips and side salsas, tlayuda, tetela, and enchiladas! We will definitely be returning.“

“If you have not been to BESA - you are missing out on a culinary experience!! Second time dining there - we may have tried 3/4 of the menu the other night. Amazing appetizers, main, cocktails. The staff was incredible - especially our waitress with the purple highlights ;) … thanks to the Chef for some personal attention. We loved every minute and every bite. A definite must if in Detroit!“

“Best BBQ chicken ever! I would literally go here just for that. They also have great tacos! I highly recommend the pastor, carnitas and barbacoa tacos. It’s super small inside and not many seats so there can be a wait time. But it’s well worth it! This place is a little gem in Detroit. Oh and like others have said- the green sauce is delicious!“

“The food is so good here. REAL. Authentic. Delicious. I make it a point to get the ribeye steak here for my birthday every year and I absolutely look forward to it. Poblano sopa is fire. Handmade FRESH guacamole is fire. Have not had one bad thing from this menu. BYOB, grab yourself a cerveza from the bodega across the street and get in there.“

“This is the best taco truck! They were able to cater an event last minute when a restaurant reservation fell through. It was 9:30 at night and they were able to feed 85 people at 1:00. The portions were excellent, the food was wonderful and there was so much of it. I cannot express my gratitude for your professionalism and yummy food!“

“STELLAR SERVICE I haven’t had the opportunity to dine at Table No.2. However, I would like to speak to the level of professionalism, integrity, impressive disposition, and good taste the owner, Omar , exudes. I attended an event held at one of his other restaurants last night in Royal Oak where I had the opportunity to observe his attention to detail and his interactions with guests. To say he is accommodating and pleasant is a vast understatement. He is the epitome of what doing “Good Business”entails--something to be truly appreciated and admired! Thank you, Omar, for facilitating an awesome experience! 5 STARS!“
“We had a gift card from the Detroit Redwings that we had to use, and we are so glad that they threw in the gift card. I had the 10 oz steak and it was incredible but the dessert was my favorite. We ordered something called The Game and it was incredible. I highly recommended this place.“
“For my last night in Detroit I braved the windy rainy weather to trek over from the Ren Cen to the downtown Maru for a solo dinner—and I really lucked out. I was still in time for happy hour with its reduced prices, so I went for it! I ordered a couple of glasses of house white, which was quite good (not always the case w/ house wines). I then supped, first on an order of chicken gyoza, which was really large (esp for such a low price). Then I ordered the Crouching Tiger roll, which was also quite generous in size, especially at the happy hour price. I'd wanted to try some other items, but my appetite was more than satisfied after the roll, so I hadda call it a night. Recommend Maru for happy hour w/o hesitation. The vibe is urban casual with a mostly youngish crowd, but comfortable for any age.“

“Fred's has established themselves as the fsh kings in me and my family eyes.
I really don't know or understand what's going on with the fish market these days, but the fish from other establishments I have frequented, are bad pieces of fish to sell to the market.
I won't name the establishment, but they serve fish for profits only. The quality of the fish is subpar at best .
Fred's has consistently served fresh flavorful fish, with choice pieces that were selected for satisfaction and to cure the hunger of their customers.
Way to go Fred...“

“The place is great! Food is pretty good, well presented and great taste, but the portions are very small for the price.
The service was excellent. Our server was great. Great atmosphere too. The only thing we didn't enjoy much was the fact that the music was way too loud for a restaurant. We could barely hear the person seating next to us.“

“I always appreciate when the owners of stores and carryouts in the city keep their place clean, offer great customer service, AND good food at a reasonable price. This place does all of that. I just had thee best tasting baklava ever! Of course the chicken and rice bowls are yummy as well. I am smitten by how kind and respectful the owner's sons (or nephews ?) are. I love to see children being trained in the family business and doing a great job in the process. I highly recommend this carry out place. I pray that God continues to keep this family safe! Peace and blessings!“

“On a busy Saturday they have what appears to be young teenagers handling the business which leads to quite a few mistakes being made I've experienced one just recently instead of steak fries we receive fried mushrooms. Their answer to fix the problem was awful ? I'll leave it at that. I'm in the process of shopping for a new fish“

“The shrimp, okra, and jalapeno poppers were delicious. The fried green tomatoes were pretty tasteless and you only get 3 to an order. The fries were ok just plain. The red beans and rice were absolutely horrible and would not recommend ordering. I was expecting some different sauces as well. The ones they gave me were just ok.“
“I wish i could give them a million stars .I called no Answer got a call back asked the if they where closed he said yes . I then said omg I'm so hangry work all day went to 2 places to get food both closed. He said emmm let me see what i got . He gave me hella options mind you at this point i'm starving. He got to naming some stuff . So I ordered steak bites potatoes and corn. Mind you again its 11:02 pm on a Saturday night in Detroit. I wait for my food I assumed i needed to go in this man brought me my food to my car . Top tier customer service. But thats not the best part the food was sooooo good. I cook cook so i know good food flavorful. If your over in this area its a must have. He has gained a forever customer Thank you so much for the amazing food and phenomenal customer service.“

“Supberb Flavor overload Korshery red sauce like no other eaten. Rich red broth loaded with Sauteed Onions think French Onion Soup but way better OMG. WOWED Koshari (also spelled Koshary or Kushari) is the national dish of Egypt. It’s served in virtually every Egyptian restaurant, in every Egyptian home, and on every Egyptian street corner. Street vendors serve the dish from carts to people eagerly waiting in line to eat this beloved and highly popular dish. An unusual combination, Koshari mixes lentils, macaroni noodles and rice into a single dish and it’s then topped with a spicy tomato sauce that uses a special Middle Eastern spice blend, garbanzo beans, and fried onions. Open a dozen year's found on a rare visit to the East Side of Detroit. Easy to find border of Grosse Point n Detroit corner Moross n Mack. Also very unique Egyptian Falafel so moist and tender unlike the Lebanese version and a white Tahini Sauce for dipping. Two dishes I highly recommend plenty for a couple a order of Korshery and Falafel. She had a great combo of Chicken Tawook, Kafta n Shish Kebab along with Fatoush Salad n Lentils Soup. Shout out to Matthew our super waiter, he made us Hot Puffy Bread once we entered. A bowl of Toum n Egyptian Salsa placed on table before you order. A truly great restaurant with Egyptian owner and booze. #cleopatramediterraneangrill @cleopatramediterraneangrill #egyptianfood #koshari #egyptianfalafel #lentilssoup #fatoush #toum #motorcitymunchers“

“Wow. What an absolutely fantastic final dinner of 2023! After we managed to find a late dinner reservation for New Year's Eve, it was a relief to discover that our excitement about the tasting menu was well-placed. I would definitely recommend the drink pairings as well! The amuse-bouche featuring oysters from the West and East coasts was a delightful way to splash into the meal. The wasabi and the mangosteen featured in each of the oysters, respectively, complimented the beautiful brine of the oysters in such a wonderfully playful way. This first tasting urged us to pause the menu progression and order an extra dozen oysters to explore the other possibilities. Tasting from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, they were beautifully prepared and of excellent quality. The first course of lobster salad felt like a summer in Maine. Not that I've ever been to Maine, but the imaginary scene flashed across my vision as I took that first refreshing bite. The grapefruit emulsion worked almost majestically with the light, refreshing flavor of the lobster salad. The tapioca chip was perfect for the crunch to fully bring the different elements of the dish together. A fascinating intersection of refreshment and comfort. The second course was the potato pavé. I'll be thinking of this potato often for the foreseeable future. It was one of those dishes that makes your eyes pop open a bit when you bite it as you realize how good it is. A beautifully layered and seared rectangle of flaky delicious potato resting with a lovely salsa brava speckled with trout roe, topped with tarragon, cured trout, and black truffle flakes. I don't even know what else to say. It was stunning. Sea urchin buttered ramen, the third course, will always be what I wish my at-home thrown-together ramen could be. It was rich, it was luscious, it was comforting. Growing up in southeast Texas, crawfish boils were always some of the most exciting times of the year. The crawfish tails in the ramen brought me back to those summer days eating crawfish with a cold beer. The duck breast for the fourth course was exceptionally cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and made a perfect bite with a bit of cauliflower, raisins, apricot, agrodolce, and foie-sauce. Each bite was such a symphony of flavor that kept me coming back. Last but absolutely not least was the gâteau ardéchois: the chestnut cream cake. Accompanied by cranberry coulis and crispy meringue bites, this dessert was a sweet but still mellow finish. While the coffee mascarpone ice cream was a robust and complementary flavor, we both agreed the vanilla coconut ice cream was the star between the two. Thank you again to the stellar crew at Mink! Happy New Year!“
