This morning, however, we had Kayla as our server, and she was OUTSTANDING! “I love Russ' - it is a nice, local chain with very good food, friendly staff, and a quiet atmosphere. I come here about 2-3 times a month to eat breakfast and work on my Bible Study. They are consistent in food prep, my coffee is always being refilled, and I have gotten to know the servers pretty well. Overall one of my favorite places to eat!“

“The buffalo and poutine fries ate amazing! They come out ripping hot and crunchy, delicious fries.

I tried a bratwurst with grilled onions and sauerkraut today. It was way better than you’d expect from a mall kiosk. Perfectly charred onions, and yummy sauerkraut. The brat was also had a totally caramelized casing. The Polish dog is somehow even better than the brat!

The people who work here are always so nice and polite, and they actually care that you have a good experience.

“A new and better pub burger! The fries were better.

- Colby Jack Pub Burger (Double) - $9.79: Much better than the Pretzel Haus Pub Burger I had a year or so ago. I liked the A1 Pepper Mayo a lot. I thought it was a great compliment of flavor to give it that zesty and savory pub-like flavor. It was rich, but not over-the-top. The soft Everything Bun’s dried garlic and onions were great and complimented well. I think the pretzel bun would have really sold it better, but it was still great.

- Sourdough Melt (Single) - $6.39: A good melt representation. It might have benefited with a little more cheese, but it was still within the norm.

- Original Chicken Tenders (2pc Basket) - $10.09: The tenders were a bit off compared to other restaurants. I am not sure if this was a fluke. It was more like a breaded fish texture and was a harsher breading.

- Crinkle Cut Fries (comes in basket): I’ve had their fries before and they seemed to be ordinary, but this time they were extra-ordinary. They were a softer and even creamier texture on the inside and not overcooked on the outside while still being nicely crispy. I am not sure if the whole chain changed something or it was just cooked correctly this time, but it was amazing and they are on my radar for fries again.

- Service: Quick and helpful. We stopped for a fundraiser they hosted (Mon. 5-8pm). We showed up 10 minutes early and it was quiet. At within minutes, the crowd showed up and they had a huge staff prepared to take it in. It still took time, but they had a good system. I love that they do fundraisers like this!

- Atmosphere: A standard Culver’s setup with tables and chairs as well as booths. It was a touch warmer with wood tones than others.

- Conclusion: Culver’s is one of my favorite burger chains and this one has always been my favorite (20 years and counting now)

“We haven't been to Texas Roadhouse in a long while. We've been missing out! Went to Grandville Texas Roadhouse yesterday (Sunday @ noon). Our wait time for a table for 7 people was very reasonable (20 minutes), our waitress (Annika) was attentive and genuinely sweet, our food came out quickly, and everything was hot and super-delicious! We won't wait so long before coming back!“

“If you're looking for quick table service at a reasonable price, Russ' can't be beat…unless you want an adult beverage with your meal, in which case you'll be out of luck. Russ' is a tradition for many West Michigan families and if you've never been to one of their locations you should try it at least once. American comfort food, desserts, and a few Dutch options are their specialties.
Updated, Jan. 2026: Russ' continues their tradition of good food and good service. My son and I met my elderly parents for a late lunch last week, and we all enjoyed our meals. This is comfort food at its best.“

“We have been enjoying Culver’s in Standale/Walker since they opened, but, it is our experience that the quality of the food is gradually going down a bit. We usually get the fish sandwiches and also have enjoyed the onion rings, but, our last order was not good. Last Thursday, we ordered two two-piece fish dinners and substituted onion rings for the fries. This was a take-out order. When we got home and began to eat the food, we found the meal to be at a considerably low standard of quality. It tasted as though the oil used to fry both the fish and the rings was “old oil” and needed to be changed. It was quite disappointing for having paid $27 for the two meals expecting a decent fish dinner. We DID, however enjoy the coleslaw.“

Our son has Autism and Chris was patient and respectful- our son likes to order for himself and Chris not only listened carefully but engaged with him. “The quality of our local steak and shakes have significantly improved along with the staff. Much cleaner, tastes better, and even seems more filling than it used to. On top of that the new company policies like banning microwaves, beef tallow for their fried goods, and grass fed beef for the burgers. It went downhill a while ago but I can definitely say it has done a complete 360 and has honestly been one of our families favorite quick fast food locations now. Definitely better than McDonald's.“
