“Stopped in on Sunday 3/16. Middle of a snow storm but they were open. Guy was working the bar and was pleasant to talk witymh as I enjoyed a pint. He was informed of the industry and welcoming on a crappy day. I look forward to going again.“

“This winery is a find for our first time in traverse City area. Spent over 2 hours there learning about the wines. And blind geeks were incredibly impressed by the certifications that they have achieved for sustainable production, and the variety of wines. Very much enjoyed the natural Pet Nat wine and others. Also note fear affiliation with three other places like French valley and dune bird. They were our Discovery and find and I hope you enjoy them too“

“Green Bird is a little slice of Heaven! They even practice sustainable farming via their “flerd“ (flock of chickens and herd of sheep) who rotate through each row of vines. I sat down and immediately signed up for the wine club because I knew this was something I wanted to support! And yes, the server was new this season but very knowledgeable and warm. No high-brow wine snobbery here! P.S. wine and cheese pairings are fantastic.“

Everything was above and beyond what was described when booking. Beautiful property a short drive from Sutton’s Bay where several unique shops offer something to do if the weather turns.“
“High end wine choices in MI. A must stop if you are a bit if a wine connoisseur. Their ROSEs are award winning and it's well deserved. The Pinot Grigio was so refreshing as well as the Unoaked Chardonnay. Lakeside makes you feel all warm and cozy.

“My husband and I visited the tasting room and was helped out by Tom. He was super friendly, kind, and knowledgeable! You can’t beat the tastings for $5 plus a glass! We walked away with a couple of bottles and we’ll definitely be back!“
“We are locals and frequent Hawkin’s Farm Cellars a lot. The service is friendly and the Thai food is exceptional. My husband especially loves the Pad Thai chicken and I am a huge fan of the Green Curry dish. You could literally close your eyes and just point to anything on the menu and never be disappointed!“
“My fiancee (now wife) and I hosted our rehearsal dinner here. This was a new venture for the folks at Mawby, but you wouldn't know it. Wife and I loved our experience, and our guests adored the location and their visit. The staff helped us select the exact right amount of wine to purchase ahead of time, and they worked with our caterer to serve a magnificent meal. Not only are they a great location and wine, the staff could not be nicer and such a joy to work with. Thank you all for making our event such an overwhelming success!“

“I have visited Black Star Farms numerous times over the past several years for wine tasting when we take our yearly trip to northwest Michigan. My husband and I decided to join the wine club this past year because there are so many of their wines that we enjoy drinking year round, it is truly our favorite winery. We are obsessed with the dry reisling, dry gewurtztraminer and pinot noir rose! The outdoor tasting area is beautiful and so serene!
During this last visit, I discovered they held regular goat yoga classes, so my aunt and I took a class together. It was so much fun! There was a great mix of time interacting with the goats and taking pictures as well as flowing through a yoga class. The teacher was so sweet and kind and excellent at guiding all levels through a yoga flow. I would 100% do the goat yoga class in the future. Beautiful landscape, adorable and sweet little goats, a wonderful yoga flow and happy, relaxed people - would absolutely recommend if you are a fan of farm animals :)“

“A Hidden Gem in Northern Michigan – We’ll Be Back! This was my first time visiting this part of Northern Michigan, and stumbling upon Laurentide Winery turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. My boyfriend and I were exploring the area and decided to stop in on a whim—and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. We were greeted immediately with warmth and enthusiasm. It just so happened that there was an open house event the day we visited, and the hospitality was off the charts. We were treated to generous pours and delicious little bites perfectly paired with the wines. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and inviting. The winery has a rustic charm on the outside and is beautifully decorated inside—cozy yet elegant. We ended up buying several bottles thanks to the great deals and the quality of the wine. This was our first visit, but definitely won’t be our last. Laurentide is a must-stop if you’re in the area!“
