“Took the ladies here for a Sunday afternoon tasting. They were busy but with plenty of room. This is a gorgeous winery with lovely outdoor seating on a very large patio. I love the grounds, landscaping, buildings, and views. The wine is very good too.“

“Stopped in on Sunday 3/16. Middle of a snow storm but they were open. Guy was working the bar and was pleasant to talk witymh as I enjoyed a pint. He was informed of the industry and welcoming on a crappy day. I look forward to going again.“

“The inn is very quiet and offers many facilities. Staff, wines and food first class. We have attended events and did the ultimate package. Everything was above and beyond what was described when booking. Beautiful property a short drive from Sutton’s Bay where several unique shops offer something to do if the weather turns.“
“Green Bird is a little slice of Heaven! They even practice sustainable farming via their “flerd“ (flock of chickens and herd of sheep) who rotate through each row of vines. I sat down and immediately signed up for the wine club because I knew this was something I wanted to support! And yes, the server was new this season but very knowledgeable and warm. No high-brow wine snobbery here! P.S. wine and cheese pairings are fantastic.“
“Very good wines. Had a flight of wine. 3 were dry white and one dry red. All were very good, a surprising blend of Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay was very good. Hadn't been there in a while, was glad we revisited. Will not wait as long between visits.“

“We are locals and frequent Hawkin’s Farm Cellars a lot. The service is friendly and the Thai food is exceptional. My husband especially loves the Pad Thai chicken and I am a huge fan of the Green Curry dish. You could literally close your eyes and just point to anything on the menu and never be disappointed!“
“Good wines at cheap prices. We loved the views over Traverse Bay. The people doing the tastings were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a tasting room for a separate winery, so you are right on the bay, not across the street. There is a separate bar and restaurant adjoining it so you can go next door and eat or drink on a balcony overlooking the bay. The best tasting room view in the area.
I liked the dry gevertstraminer, Pinot noir and dry Riesling, my wife liked the bubbly rose.“

“I have been to the Traverse peninsula Mission location several times but this was my first trip to the Sutton Bay location which is the original location. The place is absolutely beautiful. We arrived at the dog friendly outdoor tasting area and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful host. I apologize but I do not remember his name. He was very attentive to our needs and made several suggestions about the wines. We also had a snack and left with several wines. This years (2026) Cherry wine is fabulous. You are going to want several bottles for home. The Vinters Select is great too. Must go to place for sure!!“

“A Hidden Gem in Northern Michigan – We’ll Be Back! This was my first time visiting this part of Northern Michigan, and stumbling upon Laurentide Winery turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. My boyfriend and I were exploring the area and decided to stop in on a whim—and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. We were greeted immediately with warmth and enthusiasm. It just so happened that there was an open house event the day we visited, and the hospitality was off the charts. We were treated to generous pours and delicious little bites perfectly paired with the wines. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and inviting. The winery has a rustic charm on the outside and is beautifully decorated inside—cozy yet elegant. We ended up buying several bottles thanks to the great deals and the quality of the wine. This was our first visit, but definitely won’t be our last. Laurentide is a must-stop if you’re in the area!“
