“A Hidden Gem in Northern Michigan – We’ll Be Back! This was my first time visiting this part of Northern Michigan, and stumbling upon Laurentide Winery turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. My boyfriend and I were exploring the area and decided to stop in on a whim—and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. We were greeted immediately with warmth and enthusiasm. It just so happened that there was an open house event the day we visited, and the hospitality was off the charts. We were treated to generous pours and delicious little bites perfectly paired with the wines. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and inviting. The winery has a rustic charm on the outside and is beautifully decorated inside—cozy yet elegant. We ended up buying several bottles thanks to the great deals and the quality of the wine. This was our first visit, but definitely won’t be our last. Laurentide is a must-stop if you’re in the area!“

“Green Bird is a little slice of Heaven! They even practice sustainable farming via their “flerd“ (flock of chickens and herd of sheep) who rotate through each row of vines. I sat down and immediately signed up for the wine club because I knew this was something I wanted to support! And yes, the server was new this season but very knowledgeable and warm. No high-brow wine snobbery here! P.S. wine and cheese pairings are fantastic.“

“The inn is very quiet and offers many facilities. Staff, wines and food first class. We have attended events and did the ultimate package. Everything was above and beyond what was described when booking. Beautiful property a short drive from Sutton’s Bay where several unique shops offer something to do if the weather turns.“

“Bel Lago is such a beautiful spot with stunning lake views and always amazing live music. My favorite part is seeing their garden in full bloom during the summer it’s absolutely magical. Their experimental takes on wines and delicious aged reds always impress, and it’s such a treat when Blake, the winemaker, pops into the tasting room (it’s so interesting to hear what he’s working on in the cellar).“

“Leelanau Wine Cellars is definitely one of the more widely sold brands from the area, and they have a great selection of wines to choose from. I stopped by the tasting room on a cold Friday afternoon, but the sun came out and gave a great view of the bay. The view from the tasting room is quite nice, and it’d be great during warmer weather. The wines I sampled were delicious and easy to drink, and there was something for most anyone. It might not be super fancy, but it’s a very pleasant tasting room to stop at and enjoy.“

She took the time to explain each selection, answer questions, and make personalized recommendations that were spot-on. Tracy has that rare gift of making every guest feel like a VIP, and her enthusiasm is contagious.

The wines were fantastic, the setting was stunning, and the service was exceptional. “We had the most amazing experience at Black Star Farms for our August wedding. The venue is absolutely beautiful, from the vineyard views to the charming barn reception space, and it made the perfect backdrop for our day.

The staff truly made the experience exceptional. Daniel and Megan were wonderful to work with throughout the planning process and helped us customize every detail so our wedding felt uniquely ours. Chef Leah prepared an incredible meal that our guests are still talking about, and Sarah and David made our stay at the Inn so warm and welcoming throughout the weekend.
