“AMAZING! Finally made it to Peninsula Cellars and it is now my favorite place, the cider and wine was so very good! The merlot slushie and in house sangria were so very delicious. Historic schoolhouse is so cute, Sarah was so very friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to go back!“

“We really enjoyed dining and having wine several times the last few weeks at Brengman’s family winery, which we recently discovered. Our favorite is the arugula salad as a standout but we also enjoyed other menu items; shrimp scampi, brined chicken and a tomato and mozzarella salad. The wine is also tasty and the concrete white Chardonnay is a bargain. The bistro atmosphere is charming. The experience was higher quality food and more reasonably priced than many other area restaurants.“

“My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Hawthorne Vineyards. Corbin took great care of us during our tasting and was friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful to talk with.

The tasting format is a little different, with several curated flights of three wines built around particular styles. I generally prefer being able to select my own wines for a flight, but the selections were thoughtfully put together and gave us a chance to try some interesting varietals we might not otherwise have chosen.

The real standout, in addition to the wine, is the setting. The tasting room has absolutely beautiful views, with vistas toward both sides of the Old Mission Peninsula and Grand Traverse Bay. It’s a wonderful atmosphere to sit, enjoy a flight, and take in the scenery.

“Steve did our wine tasting and was amazing!! He was so knowledgeable and all the wines he recommended based upon what I explained I liked were spot on. We are from Illinois and love coming up for the wine and left with multiple bottles. Get Steve if you need a tasting he won’t steer you wrong.“

“The view was pretty. My family and I got charcuterie board snd the flight. We also got the desert wine. Everything was yummy. I brought the bottle of desert wine and a wine glass to take hone. Looking forward to going there next year.“

Not only was the wine great and the views absolutely breathtaking, but the true star of the show was our server, Teri. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines at Two Lads Winery, and my husband was VERY impressed with the flight she picked out for him. So impressed, in fact, that he broke his self-imposed wine-buying ban to take a bottle home. I also loved the lavender lemonade cocktail she recommended—it was delicious!

But the story doesn’t stop there. We got to chatting with Teri about some of the other places we were planning to visit during our trip, so we asked her for recommendations. She pointed us toward a winery we hadn’t heard of before, and it ended up being a huge hit! She also recommended a meadery because my husband is really interested in mead, and that recommendation was another home run.

It’s rare to come across someone who is not only knowledgeable about what they do, but genuinely enthusiastic about making sure you have a great experience. Teri absolutely made our visit extra special, and we are so glad we stopped at Two Lads. Great wine, incredible views, and an amazing server—what more could you ask for?

“We decided to stop by and check out Seven Hills! The service was top notch. They made sure we were taken care of the entire visit. The mule with vodka was pretty good! Very clean and cozy!

Was nice being able to grab a hot tea at the attached business inside the building. Perfect set up. Will return in the summer to check out the concert area looks awesome!“

“What a great winery with a fantastic view and an even more fantastic staff! We visited this past Sunday and were so pleased with our time here.

From the front, this place seems a little nondescript, but upon entering and visiting the outdoor seating area, the ambiance and view are quite spectacular. These place did an outstanding job with creating a unique and inviting ambiance for all types of wine lovers.

I would be amiss if I didn’t shout out the wonderful staff who conversed with us and made our time there one that we have been raving about since departure: Erika, Taylor, Logan, and Katie. These 4 certainly gave our experience a boost with their friendliness and fun conversations we had while choosing our wine.

Highly recommend visiting and if any of these 4 are working, know that you’re in good company!

My only critique is I want that bonobo monkey on more items as the main logo! Especially the take home wine glass; it’s such a cool logo.“

“We come up to Black Star Farms at least once a year. We each get a flight of wines trying to cover them all and trade around the table. Our server had us seated quickly and we placed our orders, rhe non-alcoholic DD's got there drinks first, but it took a few minutes for the other six of us got ours, no problem. We didn't get Amy snacks or anything just the flights of wine. Every thing was good, and we'll be back again next year.“

“My wife and I visited Bowers Harbor Vineyard recently and had a great time. The whole place has an easy, laid-back vibe - not fancy or pretentious; just a spot where you can relax and enjoy yourself. They have several different outdoor spaces. We were lucky to snag a couple Adirondack chairs under shade trees overlooking the fields. The servers were very nice and helpful. The wine and snacks were great. We would definitely come back again.“
