Brengman Family Wines Wine Bar • $$
9720 S Center Hwy, Traverse City

“In a word WONDERFUL. We came upon Brengman on a whim and a sign as we were heading to Mission wineries and stayed. After a less than stellar wine experience at a winery that shall not be named, we fell upon Brengman. We spent some time with Ben, who was engaging and knowledgeable. We tried an assortment of whites and reds and fell in love with the Chardonnay Cement and Right Bank red. We left with bottles of both and a new wine club membership…. Worth the stop….“

Left Foot Charley Wineries • $$
806 Red Dr Suite #100, Traverse City

“It's always a pleasure to visit Left Foot Charley. Brandon and the crew are great hosts and they are knowledgeable about their unique selection of wines and ciders. Know what you like? They'll have it. Not sure what you'd like? They'll help you pick it. If you visit in the winter, try a mug of warm Cinnamon Girl. We visit monthly from suburban Detroit - if I lived closer, I'd be there every day!“

“Can we talk about coming here in the off season? Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Just add snow with the view from the bar and it’s amazing. Lighter crowds more locals less obnoxious bachelorette parties. Fantastic reds! Good enough to bring me back the next day for a glass before we departed. Do yourself a favor and come up here in the winter.“

The Barrel Room Winery •
1400 Yellow Dr, Traverse City

“My boyfriend and I did the barrel room experience and absolutely loved it. You get to try 6 different wines and enjoy a delicious charcuterie board for 35 per person. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive. I was impressed by the value of our dollar. The stone walls and relatively small square footage created the perfect cozy and intimate venue for a romantic night out. I will definitely be doing this again.“

Chateau Grand Traverse Wineries • $$
12239 Center Rd, Traverse City

“This winery was at a time, one I’d ignore. I never found the wines very interesting. However!!!, we visited the winery and they got rid of all the tchotchkes to focus on the wine. If you are fortunate enough to meet the tasting manager Hiro Miura, you will learn about gorgeous, delicious, interesting facts about grapes in every stage and distinction and contribution to the final product called wine. I’m a retired chef and I learned so much in our relatively short visit to the vineyard. I enjoy making connections with people I meet along my travels. This visit was marked as a favorite. Thank you Hiro for sharing your passion.
Warmly,
Sharilyn“

Black Star Farms Old Mission Winery •
360 McKinley Rd E, Traverse City

“My small group stopped in on November 8th, about an hour before closing time, and it was quite busy. After wrapping up with a large group, Bryce quickly greeted us, assessed the seating availability, and provided us with a semi-private space to enjoy our tasting. During our visit, Bryce was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, took time to discuss the wines (even though it was busy), and provided us with an enjoyable experience. Thank you!“

Bowers Harbor Vineyards Wineries • $$
2896 Bowers Harbor Rd, Traverse City

“We visited this winery over the weekend and had such a great experience! The views are absolutely beautiful — perfect for photography and just soaking it all in. It’s a really relaxing spot with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the atmosphere.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and we loved that they’re dog-friendly. There’s even a park right next door with walking trails, which makes it a great place to spend a few hours (or the whole afternoon). Everything was clean and well kept, and they had heaters going so it was comfortable even in the cooler weather.
If you’re looking for a laid-back winery with great scenery and a welcoming vibe, this is definitely worth the visit! 🍷 Lots of parking.“
