I was able to get to restaurant and taste more of what they offer, and they are consistent, the food was hot, fresh, and very good! Smothered pork chops.....YUM. I recommend this if you want a home cooked taste without the work, try Mookies.“

Her service left such a lasting impression on us that we would gladly make the trip back to Michigan just to eat here again. It is rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work and makes every guest feel special, but Ashley did exactly that. “First thing dinning here. Wish we would have came out sooner. Fantastic experience. Warm crab dip was phenomenal. Whole red snapper, oxtail and extra cheddar risotto. Everything was excellent. Flavor and portion sizes are huge. Finished with bread pudding which the house included for our anniversary. Was delicious. Highly recommended trying this place out.“

“Wow ? as you enter there was a level of warmth from the greetings received. The STAFF was phenomenal, and appeared to have a great working unisons.. The food was the bomb ? my cousin and his college friend/brother was visiting from Northern California and needed some soul food made by special hands….. well Cornbread has it…. “I went to Velle's Grille yesterday for dinner in the hope of supporting a black owned business. I have no regrets. I had the Turkey Chops with Mac & cheese, collard greens and a side of yams. Good portion sizes. Everything was hot and seasoned perfectly. My meal was delicious. My husband had chicken wings with baked beans and macaroni. He also ordered a burger. He says the burger was delicious and the sides were on point. He woke up and ate the chicken for breakfast and he says we gotta go back lol. Overall we are definitely giving this place another chance.“

“I craved for the Jerk chicken dinner that comes with two sides. Plentiful, reasonable prices. Mac n cheese is so good, the greens melted in my mouth. Mask was worn and glass between chefs and the patrons.“

“Detroit soul is possibly the best meal from start to finish I've had in years. Walking in you notice how delicious everything smells, how clean everything is and how friendly everyone who works here is. The food is top notch. The breadding on the catfish fritters made my mouth water, the greens made me want to write home, the mac and cheese was perfectly cooked and the meatloaf was so tender and tasty. Then the dessert! Peach cobbler that made me make obscene noises, the creamy vanilla scoop and the amazing red pop sorbet were bursting with flavorful perfection. I highly recommend going here and trying everything.“
