“Cool, unsuspecting restaurant. Had the tasting menu. The soup was excellent, and the walleye didn't disappoint either. Wasn't very fond of the dessert but to each their own. Bar tender/server was a nice guy who was enthusiastic about the food and drinks. With 3 tasting menus ordered in our party I expected the chef to come out and say hello. As a chef for the last 20 years this is the best fine dining meal I have had in the Grand Traverse area. Highly recommended.“
“I can’t visit the TC/Sutton’s Bay area without a stop at Hoplot. The beer is tasty, the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting and the staff is friendly and helpful.Definitely a place you can bring kids too also or just enjoy some time with your significant other or friends.“

My personal fav was the green beans for the veggie.Desert we had the tiramisu which was extremely light and the chocolate hazelnut bar which was rich and paired nicely with a cup of coffee. To top it off we enjoyed the atmosphere and the 2 person band who played beautifullyOur server Jessica was extremely helpful and delightful.I recommend all to come try!“

“We happened upon the newly opened space, as it was one of few places open in the off season…we’re so glad we did! The entire menu was refreshing - so many fresh and unique options. We got strawberry and root beer milkshakes, broccoli wings, quinoa Phoenix burger, and the Mr. Darcy salad. We waited about 30 min from the time we ordered to eating, which was perfect as we got to walk around town, and then enjoy our milkshakes (AMAZING) while playing games set out on each table (so thoughtful and a preferable atmosphere to patrons with their head in the phones). Every other itemwe ordered was FANTASTIC with huge portions (I didn’t even get to touch the salad, but am excited to eat it tomorrow!) Broccoli wings are a must-try and the quinoa burger is the best veggie patty (housemade, too!) that my husband has ever tasted. If you’re in the area, go support this business!“

“We had an outstanding experience from the beginning to end. We were going to another restaurant in town, however, with an hour wait, my brother suggested we call North Country and we got right in. Our server Tristan was great, friendly, attentive and efficient. The Cajun Walleye was outstanding as were the other dishes. We will return.“
“Fischer’s is the best. From the chili, to the chicken, to the French dip, and *drumroll please* the ever life changing sanders cream puff, which my 98yo grandfather requested regularly…Fischer’s is/was/will be a staple for this family.“

“Lovely small dining restaurant with high end quality meals. First meal here years ago were delicious fish tacos. The fish perfectly cooked. Jalapeno sauce great accent. This week i went for Traverse City restaurant week. Once again, a magnificent meal. I started with siraccha stuffed mushroom caps. I love mushrooms, so easy to please, although i really didn't catch the siraccha. I then had a steak in lobster sauce with shrimp. A side of scalloped potatoes. Absolutely delicious with the steak cooked exactly how i requested. For dessert i had the turtle sundae which was a wonderful finale. There was no disappointment. Highly recommend. Again and again and again...“

“Super duper delicious! They were short staffed, but we couldn't tell! The meatloaf cupcakes are SAVORY! the Lobster Bisque is great, and the Bang Bang Shrimp is something to write home about! We went on 12/1/2023, around 430 pm. I forget the bartender's name but she was great and seemed like a happy employee! Thanks folks!“

“This is a gem and you mus try!! We had stopped in previously for a drink and popcorn perch— they are addictive. Our wait person Hannah was kind and fun and asked us to come back for Sunday family dinner. We just did and it was $15 for adults and something like $8 for kids —ARE YOU KIDDING!! They want it to be affordable and WOW - a guy playing guitar, fresh lightly battered cod with homemade tarter sauce, brisket -tender with nice BBQ sauce, penne pasta with a meaty sauce, fresh veggies, homemade real mashed potatoes, chicken bites for the kids, corn and tater tots and ALL you can EAT. Everything was beyond good and the staff-Madison and the mgr Becky were awesome. This is a must try and wonderful place we will be at frequently - would love to give it a 10“
“Best cinnamon twists, cherry turnovers and old fashion donuts. Temporary closed until October 19th as Linda, the manager, was recently married and is away a few weeks. Congratulations Linda, we're missing your tasty breakfast treats during peak colors 2023. Your gain our loss but looking forward to future peak color seasons family gatherings and grandchildren enjoying Barb's Bakery breakfast treats“

“What a charming little place. We had a great time on their patio with a fire pit and heated throws. The drinks were awesome. Hot cider with Brandy was a big hit on a cold November day. The food was delicious ( brisket chili and pork belly burnt ends sandwich ). and the servers so accommodating. I would highly recommend this place.“

“Everything was phenomenal, the fries were amazing, sweet potato and regular. The burger was hefty and juicy, and the fried fish was crisp and delightful. By far the best thing we experienced was the soup! We had the Reuben soup, complete with rye croutons in it for a spectacularly flavorful crunch. My only regret is not getting more soup to go! The only thing I could improve would be the ribs. While they were fall apart cooked beautifully, the sauce is simply sweet baby rays, nothing made in house. That aside, the fireplace was warm and inviting, and it was hard to stop smiling while sitting near it. An absolute must go to if you're in the area.“

“It's a casino restaurant, so I didn't have high hopes, but as it turns out, the food was really good. I had a burger and fries, and Tator Tots. Everything is done to perfection. But it is still a casino restaurant, so that is why I didn't rate it higher.“

“We were invited to a bowling birthday party for an 8 year old and had an awesome time! The bowling was super fun. We ate pizza, chicken tenders, and fries. The food wasn't greasy! It was quality food. We still felt good after eating there.Kid-friendliness: The bowling alley was great for the kids party! Not a lot of other people there, in November on a Sunday, which was really great!“

“A real treasure in an area with limited options off season. Very good food and views and next door to the Leelanau Cellars tasting room. Service was quick and friendly and responded well when we told them we only had time for a quick visit. Highly recommend.“
