“The Wilderness has chosen...Sara's Sweets as the best bakery in GR! I was so nervous to submit my very niche request for a Yellowjackets themed cake for my birthday/the S3 premiere. I sent a few inspiration photos, but had no idea what to expect. When I say they exceeded my expectations, that is an understatement. The cake was PERFECT. From the hand-carved chocolate antlers, to the hidden rune symbols, to the HELIOTROPE purple cake color, I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. The best part? It was DELICIOUS!! Almond cake, almond buttercream frosting & chai frosting filling. We demolished it faster than they demolished Jackie! ;) THANK YOU for making this Antler Queen's dreams come true! :)“

“Due to health issues, my diet is restricted, especially in areas of carbohydrates, sodium, and sugar. A fan of granola but not eating much these days as my diet no nos prohibit much of granolas offered. One day at VG’s in Fenton Michigan I accidentally came across a small Made in Michigan display with some of your product there. Looking at the nutrition analysis, the numbers were favorable. So, began with Dried Cherry and absolutely loved it! Then added Peanut Butter and Original. You make the best Granola. We will be consuming much of your fine product line. Keep it in Michigan! “My nephew and I shared a meal here today and our experiences ranged from very good to off the scale great. We tried a Hot Mess breakfast with eggs, potatoes, chorizo,etc; it was perfectly balanced (neither to spicy or bland), super fresh; loved it. We also got a grilled cheese, with pepper jelly. The bread was the best ever (toasted perfectly) and crunchy, and it wasn't to cheesy (some places put too much cheese which makes it messy) with just enough pepper jelly to create an original experience; and one of my favorite sandwiches of my life. The salad was the low point of the meal as it was merely perfect. We also got a chocolate croissant which was great and a pot de creme which was decadent and..can I say perfect again. This is my new favorite place“

“Good Cookie Sweet Shop is THE BEST! Ali is an amazing person who is a clear and kind communicator. She baked hundreds of cookies for our wedding, and each and every one was delicious and beautiful! We also really appreciated that she offers the service of coming to the venue to arrange the cookies - it was so nice that we didn't have to worry about that aspect of the reception amongst all the busyness of the day. Our guests loved the cookies so much that some even drove to the shop in the days following our wedding to buy more cookies! We can't get enough of the Good Cookie Sweet Shop! It's a local business in town which complements other service's in Cedar Springs...now you can ride or walk on the Pine Trail and pick up some healthy and nutritionous wheat bread on your way back... “I went off season (no outdoor activities involved) and was so impressed by this little gem in Grand Rapids. The donuts were beautifully soft and so satisfying. Additionally, everyone at the wine cellar was so friendly and so helpful. Though very sweet, I loved their recommendations, and I’m so glad I bought bottles to share of their peach Spumante. They did offer a discount if you buy 4+ bottles. Also, loved hearing that their wines support local MI farmers as all the fruit used for the fruit wines comes from MI farms.“

“Frequently meet friends and have some of the best brunch in the city. Always busy but for a reason, and the service and hospitality which are already top notch, do not suffer. An example of this is when they bring you your food they remember who ordered which plate. This is one of those underrated hospitality things they do that other establishments don’t reach. The service was fast and the apple fritter was delicious. But I especially appreciated the friendly service we received from the young man working the cash register.
