“We went on Thursday for the Burger (3-6 pm) night. $9 for burger / fries and drink. The burger was a single patty but very thin. But the price was right. It would be a poor burger value at full price. Cosmik fries weee awesome as usual. The brownie dessert was great. Service was excellent by the bar tender aunt Royal oak. Bar Louie nearby on Main St has a huge burger on special on Tuesday nights.“

“Not really much of a sports bar person in the past, and I have lived in Royal Oak for years and just started coming here. The service is always really great, but because it’s so popular sometimes it can get very busy, it’s a great place to watch a Lions game hockey game, etc. The staff is always been extremely personable, and the owners are almost constantly there. Definitely a place that cares about the product they are putting out, The pizza and the cheese sticks are delicious. I will literally die if the cheese sticks ever go away. Definitely an old school bar where you can actually speak to people and meet new people pretty much at any age group. Definitely not the norm for downtown Royal Oak.. Some of the other reviews sound like they’re probably from people who aren’t used to being in public.. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.“

“We had Bri as our server. She was so nice, sweet, helpful, and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed and kept checking on us in a timely manner. She had a smile on her face the entire time. Such a pleasant person to have as a server. Scott the manager also checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. “A special day. A special night. Couldn't be better. Arranged by our son and daughter. The waiter did everything, except eat our food. The wines were a delight and the steak and salmon were prepared with artistry. He guided us with each entre and the salad was shared by us with dressing aside. With no way to catch the big game at home, CJ Mahoney's was the perfect destination. Nestled in a cozy booth, we had our own personal TV, the perfect setup for an immersive viewing experience.

We kicked off the game with a classic Supreme Pizza, a cheesy, saucy delight topped with a colorful array of ingredients. While she sipped on a couple of refreshing 7 and 7's, I opted for a crisp Diet Coke. Later, we indulged in a flavorful cheese Quesadilla, a cheesy, crispy treat that hit the spot.

Despite the packed house, the staff handled the crowd with impressive efficiency. They were friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks flowing.

CJ Mahoney's has become our go-to spot for game day. The combination of great food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere makes it a winner in our book.“

“Just left and wanted to write a review ASAP! Took my guy here for his birthday. We went to the bingo brunch. Even though there weren’t many people there at 10 am the bingo host played the game and awesome music in between each number being called. We each won bingo and got some fun prizes - shirts and games. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for playing games. The hostess was very welcoming. Our server was sweet and attentive and the food and drink were fantastic! What a gem! Can’t wait to come back!“

“I went here with my family and we had a great time. Our poor waitress was clearly running a section too big for her, and said something about being understaffed, but she was still so calm and sweet. She gave us wonderful service, they provided me with a mocktail as I’m still breastfeeding, and the food was very tasty. It was a 108° heat index on the day we came and they had these huge ceiling fans going that quickly cooled us off after coming inside. I will definitely be back, especially on a hot day!“

“I really like this bar and the people who work here. They are very attentive and do what they can to make things right for you. The food is very good. They will accommodate you with substitutions. For example I didn't want meat on my cobb salad so they put shrimp on it for me instead. Shout out to Matt! He's always on his toes. “Over 25 crowd (most patrons were 40s +). There is a $15 minimum to use a card so if you're just having 1 drink, bring cash. No cover. Pool tables and bar. I was told they no longer sell food at this Bar & Grill but I didn't confirm if the kitchen closes very early, is temporarily closed or closed indefinitely. There is outdoor space and also a food truck up the alley behind the businesses on Grand River. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating. It's not huge but there was a perfect number of people to enjoy yourself and not be crowded with people breathing COVID unknowingly. Old school music with some hustle tracks thrown in. I would go back.“
