Take Sushi is the american melting pot’s version of Japanese izakaya. Intimate, friendly and humble with exceptional food that remains consistent for years. An evening trip to take sushi means you are often sitting shoulder to shoulder, it means dim lights, the faint sound of korean music, and of course, excellent food. The sushi is phenomenal, the hot dishes punch way above their class, and the soups worth a try if you are in the mood for something unique. The atmosphere feels unlike any other establishment in Michigan. It feels lived-in, cozy and authentic, there is little modern influence and that is a good thing. If Take Sushi is anything, it is comforting. This is evident by the near constant “How have you been?” between the staff and each patron who walks in. So if you’re looking for sushi and you haven’t tried Take, arrive hungry, with an empty stomach and open heart. And, if you decide it isn’t for you, that’s ok. There is a corporate mass-appeal sushi restaurant that should do the trick.“

“I was impressed. Came in for a carry out for the first time. Had 7 different rolls. Food was delicious, price wasn't too expensive, and staff was welcoming and friendly! The one lady was even going to hold the door for a customer with a large take out order, but I beat her to it 😁

“Ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and the quality was very good. But it wasnt spicy at all. My only issues were the brown rice that came with it was too small of a small portion and I needed more to go with the main dish. Extra rice was 6 bucks for another small bowl. I asked if they had Sriracha and they brought a small mini plate of it. I looked over the bill and they charged $1 for the Sriracha. Asked for a lil extra ginger and they added $2 for that. The server said there would be an extra charge for rice, but didnt mention anything extra for the ginger and Sriracha. I don't like being nickled and dimed for things that should be included, especially a sauce. Server was attentive and did a great job.“

“Ordered carryout but the restaurant was nice and the employees were smiling and polite. That's always appreciated. We ordered a vegetable teriyaki dinner and two chicken teriyaki dinners with special requests. All were correct. Also ordered a crab Rangoon appetizer which was excellent. The food is not heavily seasoned which we prefer. You're given yum yum sauce and a type of soy sauce which is the perfect addition to the teriyaki dinner. Each dinner combo comes with a very small salad and a cup of miso soup. Both were good. A dinner should be enough for 2 meals imo. Nice place. Plan on coming back.“

“Everything was absolutely amazing from the time we walked in the door until we left. We came in to celebrate our moms first heaven birthday. Chef Tony had us in stitches the entire time. “I am absolutely outraged with the behavior of the owner today at SOHO. My family and I went to this restaurant after Saturday little league games. We had 5 adults, 5 children and 2 babies. We have been to this restaurant countless times as a family. Today, after sitting and looking an menus, ordering drinks, we were met by the manager that came to our table and said “I’m sorry our limit is 8 people”. Confused, we asked for clarity because again, we have been to this restaurant countless times with the SAME group and number of people. In fact, we have NEVER been to this restaurant with less people. I asked, “wait are you saying we can’t eat here today because of the number of people?“ THAT is how confused I seriously was. The manager then responded, “Yes, I’m so sorry”. I pointed out to him that we had been sitting, getting ready to order for quite some time. Moments before this, the waiter came to take our orders but had to leave to grab us extra napkins. He said that his waiter called him all the way from his home because he couldn’t “do it” - referring to asking us to leave. There were quite a few other staff members there. So if this was a rule, why didn’t any of them point it out to the “new person” or let us know right away Of their “party limit”.? Please know we went on a Saturday around 330pm and there was two other parties in the entire restaurant - totaling only 5 other people. To me, if I had a party that was a few people over my “limit” I would not kick them out one, but definitely not when my restaurant is close to empty and the party has already been sat. Because of my “new team members” error- as a manager, I would have continued to serve this party. I need to point out that NONE of us in our entire lives have ever been asked to leave ANYWHERE. We are a Christian family of Pastors and ministers. I say this to speak to our character. There was no behavior on our end, that warranted this. I also pointed out that the table we were sitting at was DESIGNED for more than 10 people. We didn’t come into the restaurant moving tables and chairs together, the table was already set up for 12 people to sit there. I asked the manager why we were sat and waited on For all this time to then be kicked out? He claimed that the person who was our waiter was new and didn’t know their 8 people limit rule. I pointed out the fact that the table we were sitting at was set up for 12 And asked why that is if they had a limit of 8? He then said with our number of kids - it is not safe for them in the restaurant because their establishment serves alcohol. So first it was because our party was more than 8 and then it turned into being an issue with the number of kids? There is absolutely no reason for this behavior. To me, the only thing that makes any sense is it being racially discriminatory. I strongly urge you to no longer go to this restaurant. Of course, we left with no issue because if we are not welcome or wanted because of race or any other invalid reason- we don’t want to eat at the restaurant anyways. But point of my review is to prevent this from happening to anyone else. we used to love this place and our entire family would come. never again, even with 2 people will I step foot in this establishment and I will strongly encourage everyone I know and everyone that’s reading this to do the same.“

“I’ve never had a bad experience here at Yoshii. I always get the $10 meal deal because it makes smart economical sense. It’s a different protein each day so you truly get to switch it up but getting that delicious rice and spring roll. You truly don’t need the sauce because the seasoning is so on point.
Let me also say, the containers are perfect for work lunch time storage. 😁
And one added bonus is, that stunning young lady that works there from time to time.

“we were finally able to come in and try it out. we started with bento boxes. the sushi was fresh and delicious, I enjoyed the crab salad and most of all, the shrimp tempura was probably the best shrimp I've ever had!! so much flavor and the crunch was PERFECT!!! the pricing was very fair. You can tell the ingredients were fresh, especially with the salmon. The GM Roll had a nice crispy texture with a sauce that brought everything together really well. I also appreciated how nicely everything was plated — it felt upscale but still comfortable and relaxed. Service was quick, there was no wait, and parking was easy too. There are reviews that mark down the cakes because they taste 'eggy' which is weird to do because egg is the primary ingredient in these cakes. There's absolutely no cheese so please adjust your expectations if you go there. I hate to see a business suffer because people don't understand what they're supposed to expect“

Yet after the most recent visit, I would say that I was surprised that the service has greatly improved and that the interior has functioning bathrooms again. I think we may have had a new cook because he didn't put on much of a show, especially compared to the energy we saw from the other chefs. Others were flipping and spinning things. Not ours tho. We also felt pretty rushed at the end; the staff actually started putting fresh plates and silverware on the table for the next guests before we were even finished eating.“
