“A beautiful, clean Iraqi restaurant with delicious food. I tried the meat kebab and the meat tashreeb was delicious. Their bread is fresh from the oven and melts in the mouth. And of course, the service is excellent, even with the crowds ??“
“HIGHLY RECOMMEND this family operated restaurant!! I was visiting the area for work trip and stayed at hotel walking distance from Wokabob. Saw the positive reviews and walked over to order dinner to go eat back in my room. So many options I wanted to try - I went with the D-Jay (drunken noodles and chicken shawarma) spice of mild plus. As I was waiting for my meal to be prepared I talked with the owner (wife) Natalie who is so friendly with her service. I told her I will have to come back tomorrow to order another dish it all looked so good! When she handed me my to go order (one meal) I could not believe how heavy the bag was, felt like a lot of food! It was so delicious, a nice heat level, so much flavor and huge portion. I went back for lunch the next day AND ordered another meal for dinner. This time was husband owner “Papi” who I met and I ordered his signature dish of Pineapple fried rice with shrimp kabob and also a shrimp pad Thai. Again, generous portions of tasty fresh food spiced as I liked it mild plus. I ate lunch in the restaurant and took the rest back home for dinner. Food is A + I want to try more dishes next time I am in town. The shrimp very flavorful can taste the high quality ingredients in all dishes I enjoyed. The food is prepared with love and pride. Such kind warm people here this is the kind of family business I want to return to and see thrive. Restaurant is very clean. Such a great place!!“
“I love chickpea kitchen. Since my first time here almost a year ago, I’ve been back countless times. The food is authentic and the flavors are bold and tasty. I absolutely love the owner, he works just as hard as the employees and they are all polite, patient and professional. My son even loves it here. So 10/10 recommend 100% for us“
“Ordered takeout for the first time here at around 10:30am and it was relatively busy with take out orders. They have a lunch special around that time which is a good deal. Comes with the main and rice/fries and soup/salad. Service was very good, the cashier was very nice and friendly although she was very busy packing orders and taking calls.“
“One of my fav places in the area to eat! Love to dine-in and get takeout, everything is really delicious! I usually get a fattoush salad, lentil soup, chicken Schwarma plate or the kabob Eden platter. The service is great and the prices are better than other places in the area. We’ve been coming here the last 6 years and it’s definitely worth stopping by!“
“I dined in & the restaurant was very clean. I had the house salad, Provençal shrimp & the Red Snapper with fries. Everything was delicious especially the snapper & shrimp. I would like to go back & try the snapper grilled & some other options. Just a heads up they do charge for water which is bottle water @ .99.“
“My family and I visited this restaurant October 8th 2023. Absolutely LOVED it. Everything about this restaurant was great. The food was great. The service was great. The atmosphere was, you guessed it, great. I also loved how the other patrons were very friendly.“
“Growing up part Lebanese and Syrian I was basically raised on this type of food, so I know what I like, and my expectations were high. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our waitress Kylie was outstanding. For drinks I ordered a Manhattan, and my friend had a Spicey Margarita. Both were strong and delicious. For our Appetizers we had the Calamari which was super crispy and came with an amazing sliced tomato sauce. Of course I had to get a taste of everything so the Vegetarian Plate was an absolute must. It came with so many different food items and even just the presentation alone was gorgeous. My favorites were the fried Falafel which was super flavorful, crispy, but not dry at all like many can be from other places, the Baba Ghanouge was fantastic, and the Hummus which was so smooth and some of the best I’ve had. Hot bread was provided as well for dipping. Now if I’m completely honest, I did not care for the Veggie Grape Leaves or the Fattoush Salad. The salad seemed a little soggy and the flavors just kind of blended together, and the Grape Leaves had much too strong of a lemon/garlic type of taste that was way too overpowering. For our Entrees I decided on the Kibbeh Niyeh (raw lamb), which was very fresh and a large portion for the price. My friend decided to mix it up and try the Chicken Florentine. I wasn’t sure a predominantly Middle Eastern style restaurant could deliver on a dish like that, but not only was the portion huge, the flavor and quality is like one you’d find at a nice Italian restaurant. I was very surprised. For Dessert we of course had to try the Tiramisu. Each bite nearly had our eyes rolling to the back of our heads. It was light but flavorful, and each bite just melted in your mouth. If you’re in the mood for good Mediterranean, I highly recommend checking this place out!“
“The food was very good and clean. We ordered a dish with fat, which was prepared in a distinctive way and had an enjoyable taste as well. We ordered makhlama with pastrami and eggs, and everything was perfect. God willing, we will visit againThank you for your beautiful welcome“
“Lets talk Shawarma! One of the best local places to get a beef shawarm in my opinion. Tightly rolled, filling as its packed with meat, a very nice tahin to sauce it up - and the bread is authentic and delicious. There are literally days where I crave it! More things I want to try from here - owner very nice gentleman. So full!“
“Came here after working out at nearby LA Fitness. Ordered a 5 appetizer dish, and a chicken shawarma wrap. I was struggling to select 5 appetizers that had no onions when Savio the server suggested taboule, and that they make it fresh and can easily leave out the onions. It was wonderful! The shawarma was flavorful with subtle spices - super tasty. I ate half and had a great lunch for the next day. Savio, the young server was well informed on the menu and friendly. Nice kid that steered me to a fine meal. Fresh, healthy, great tasting food!“
“The place was very clean and you can definitely tell that this place is underratedVegetarian options: I’m not sure if they have vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: A variety of options, you’ll definitely have something that fits your needsParking: Plenty of parking space as well, there is lots of free street parking nearbyKid-friendliness: Bakery is very kind, was my first time coming and gave me a free sample“
“My family loves this place! I moved out of town and when ever I visit, I have to order a large tray from Al Mawal! On many occasions, I'll run into my relatives when picking up my order because they'll also make the drive to get these large portioned, delicious meals for the whole family!! The staff is extremely nice and outgoing! You'll see first hand that this is the best hole in the wall Arabic food restaurant!“
“This meat bread is soft and very flavorful. The man who served it was very kind, I had a hard time finding the place at first but he patiently walked me through it over the phone, I recommend this place to everyone the food is outstanding definitely going back ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“
“The people here are very nice and considerate and will work to get you good service and food. The schwarmas here are by far the best I've ever had. They even beat out Bucharest Scwarmas and that is saying alot. It's a good spot to pull up and have a relaxing bite to eat and some coffee. 5 stars“
“This banquet hall is so beautiful. I did my daughter's communion party here and was so impressed with everything. Service was amazing, clean environment and food was fresh and tasty. Even the appetizers were flavorful. The price for my party was not comparable to some other over priced under achieved banquet halls. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends.“
“- The food so good and better than the branche in Iraq- The service excellent and the waiters working hard and very friendly and have nice outfits- The atmosphere kind of very crowded- They have two issues, The washrooms only two not enough of the restaurant capacity therefore you will see line-up for the washrooms, and other issue the parking lot too smallVegetarian options: - appetizers- falafelAnd other itemsParking: The small parking lot can be a hassle to navigateWheelchair accessibility: They have access for wheelchair“
“Went for a funeral mercy meal, Great service, great atmosphere, but food could have been better as we are used to great food at Sahara Restaurant. All in all it was a good experience all in all as Sahara ALWAYS does a great job in everything for their customers.Vegetarian options: Wide variety of options availableDietary restrictions: They can attend to any dietary restrictions for allParking: An adequate amount of parking available as this restaurant is in a plazaKid-friendliness: They have a kids menu , chairs for infants and a re very kind in their nature with kidsWheelchair accessibility: Their doors are very wide and can accustom to any wheelchair.“
“Food was good, service was good, PRICES WERE SO MUCH EXPENSIVE. The bill was $227 before the tip. We ordered 2 cat fish for $152 and I understand each was 9 lbs. but I can't believe the rest of $65 were for 1 large Hummus, 2 Pepsi, 2 miranda, 3 yogurt.I didn't go through everything, except the price of the fish, and I was like that should be fair. But after I left, I started thinking about it.“
“The restaurant offers delicious food, but there are a few concerns that I feel compelled to mention. Despite labeling itself as halal, when I inquired about the source of their meat, the staff couldn't provide satisfactory information. As a Muslim, this lack of transparency made me uneasy. Additionally, I noticed that they discreetly kept religious symbols, such as crosses and images of Jesus and Mother Mary, out of sight below the counter. While the food was enjoyable, these issues regarding halal certification and religious symbols give me pause. I believe transparency and respect for dietary preferences are important in any establishment, and unfortunately, I'm hesitant to dine here again even though the service and food were amazing and the prices were the best!“
“Best food I’ve ever tasted in Michigan. The food is very juicy and flavourful and their customer service is beyond amazing. The chef brought us soup to the car since my wife was feeling sick. Very respectful guy and will continue to order here“
