“I have lunch here about every two weeks. My best impression, is having a floor manager, visit the table, during my visit, to ask if all is well. Having that backup, besides a waitress, is excellent customer care!“

“This is a grip of nostalgia from the word go.

This restaurant is never more than it needs to be. One person on the grill, one waitress, and a great lineup of breakfast and lunch options.

The place is cash only, which is not something you see everyday. And EVERYTHING on the menu is under $10.

You won’t find a better value for breakfast in the area. The cynics would say it needs to be renovated, but if they do it would take away from the charm.

Nothing needs to change about this place. We will be here again. Thank you“

“Al n wife Dona in the house today, got Marc on the flattop. New menu looks fantastic, prices went up a little. The cost of Eggs Bread and Meats have tripled in price, so they have to survive. Still lowest prices Downriver just stop complaining, if you shop at a grocery store you might know this. Had fantastic Greek Chicken Feta Fries, Chili Special and Gyro with Salad. “Went there for lunch today. They were super short staffed, but other than the wait for the table, you couldn't tell. The wait-staff was amazing, even if there was only THREE for the whole place. “I was just at Senate Coney Island for the first time in a long time and it was exactly what I needed. The coney was solid. The chili cheese fries were great. I really like the shredded cheese they use instead of the liquid canned cheese. But to each their own. And I got a Togo breakfast sandwich for my roommate and they really enjoyed it too. And the service was exceptional. Will definitely visit again when breakfast or coney is what I’m craving.“

“Always pleasant at SR. Did a To-Go order this time. The chicken gravy on the carved turkey dinner was delicious. The green beans were similar to fresh. Probably the steam type in a bag that is long, not a can version. My potato skins were delicious as usual. The Club was very good as usual but needed to add mayo or other of your choice when we got it home. I enjoyed my tuna salad croissant in-house more than the one I had this time. I prefer not leaf lettuce for next time. The coleslaw was okay. I wouldn't get it again but that is my choice. Hubby added pepper and some other stuff to his to make it taste better. We love this restaurant and have been going there for at least 7 years now. Friendly waitstaff and other staff. Mike has a great place to keep it alive. Lots of menu choices. Always busy during peak times. Only wish they could expand and even have a banquet room on site. Parking is always so full and if the parking lot is full, usually means the restaurant is full or you may have a few minute wait. Booths need a little more room for the larger folks that come. There are only a couple of tables with chairs so some groups have to wait a little longer to be seated at them. If you can be fitted at a booth, they are a little tight for larger folks. They can take the wall partition down in the center to seat a larger group in two booths if needed.“

“Food was so good. I got frozen side dishes for thanksgiving and slices of Turkey. Even though I had to wait a little while for them to get the side dishes it was worth the wait. I did preorder so I got to skip the huge line at least. But the taste was way better than I expected.“
