I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good).\n\nThat said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food.\n\nA friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef.\n\nI chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT.\n\nAs it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time.\n\nThat kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. “I have been to Pub 42 many times either by myself or with a party up adds of 6 people. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. We have had the pleasure of having Riley and Iza as our servers on many occasions and I can’t stress how kind and accommodating both of them are, I have celiac disease and they are knowledgeable about the ingredients and the process of the food so that I am safe when eating there. Including the double checking and making sure that my food is gluten free, and with very limited chance of cross contamination. Both do a great job of making sure the food is good and arrives at an appropriate time, while being friendly and kind and connecting with us as patrons. I would recommend pub 42 to anyone and everyone and tell them to request being seated in either Riley or Iza’s section to guarantee them the best of service available.“

After delivering a basket of the pleasantly salty/garlicy breadsticks (the first of three) my companions arrived and ordered. My diet coke with fruit was served up, and the big bowl of Caesar salad arrived (the first of two) fresh and delicious. Maria surprised me with a plate of Steak & Shrimp Bucatini, the best thing we ate that day. Also ordered were the Lasagna Fritta as a shared appetizer that received unanimous approval, the Chicken Parm, and Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara. My only complaint was that my was served very warm instead of hot. I had to deal online with two people Regina and Aly and let me tell you these two handled my issue that I had within a matter of 24 hours. The communication that we had back and forth was prompt and professional.

Most of the reviews that you see online are based on visits to the location but businesses go beyond that and behind the scenes. With that said this is one company that I'd recommend. If you have an issue don't immediately give a bad review, reach out, explain what happened, explain what you are looking for and be reasonable with expectations.

One time I accidentally ordered my drink to the wrong location through the app, and the team here fixed it for me without making me feel awkward about it. I really appreciated that.

The drinks are always well made and consistent, which honestly isn’t true at every location. Definitely one of the better Starbucks spots I’ve been to.“
