“We were traveling through on our way back home (North Dakota). Looking online for possible rest stop to eat. Thrilled to find this wonderful home cooked meat and potatoes restaurant. So inviting and comfortable. There were 6 of us, our sweet server immediately found the perfect seating. From start to finish everything was so good. I highly recommend and encourage a visit there.”

My wife & I enjoyed a couple of breakfast/brunch dishes that were very pleasing to our taste-buds! The Hillbilly Skillet is a Classic of a skillet-meal with two eggs, ham, sausage, and bacon; plus the bonus flavors of onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and Monterey-Jack Cheese; and with the side of toast included, it was a good & flavorful complete meal! The Biscuits-N-Gravy dish is a Specialty for a reason! That being when you can make the biscuits so well that they hold a flaky-ness when surrounded by the creamy gravy; then they are bound to hold that warm, baked biscuit goodness that your taste-buds are expecting. The Biscuits-N-Gravy being good on its own, if you need a bit more protein to bolster the meal - add the two eggs & hash browns to elevate the heartiness. I added some bacon on the side as well, and the bacon was smokey, and cooked with the right amount of crispiness for my liking! Cinnamon Rolls! “We had a very comfortable stay at the Palmer House recently. We were in town for one day for a wedding. The historic nature of the hotel and nods to Sinclair Lewis were a draw. The best part of our stay was the excellent service from booking to check-in/check out. We were met with friendly and caring staff at each encounter. Best of all, Winnie and Dave went far above and beyond when they discovered we had left some items behind in our room. We were far into our journey home—too far to turn back. I asked if they could ship our belongs and charge us to the postage, but they went one better and arranged to drop off our items at our house! They had a trip to a neighboring town scheduled, and they added this stop along the way. This personal touch meant so much. It shows you how nice it is to have local, independent ownership in a business.”

“We like to have a big breakfast brunch type meal on Sundays and we are so happy to stop here! I had a sausage n cheese omelet w toast and my husband had pancakes, cheesy hashbrowns, eggs and sausage. MORE than enough. Had to bring home 2 boxes. Quick friendly service too! We'll be back.”
