“Came to McHugh's Public House recently to catch up with a friend. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and attentive, and the restaurant, in spite of being pretty busy on a weekday evening, was laid out in a way that my friend and I could have a great conversation without having to shout. We kept things simple with the food and drinks, and everything we had was enjoyable. Will likely be back in the future if I'm in the area.“

I know the owner personally, but I give bad reviews when due, he has EARNED THIS. Amazing bar always come here.“

“We enjoy coming to JJs for Bingo and food and drinks. It’s usually busy on Bingo days, but we get there early and can get a table and order food and drinks before the first number is called. The service is good even though the place is super busy, and prices are reasonable. The waitresses are very upbeat, laugh at my husband’s jokes and refill our drinks without us having to ask. My husband’s favorites are the lasagna or chicken potpie. I usually have the Caesar salad with salmon and it has been good, although once or twice the salmon was slightly overcooked. The last time I thought I’d try something different and ordered the turkey melt and was sorely disappointed. I was looking forward to a slightly greasy sautéed sandwich with gooey cheese oozing out, stuffed with turkey. Instead the sandwich I received was like dry toast, with two slices of cheese stuck to it and a skimpy amount of turkey. I ate the turkey and peeled the cheese off, but it was very underwhelming. Please learn how to make a proper melt sandwich or take it off the menu. I won’t be ordering it again. Not giving a terrible rating, because this has been the only bad experience in over two years, but I just had to let you know the sandwich was terrible. Thanks.“

“Ordered at another nearby restaurant on Uber eats for delivery and waited almost two hours, only to find out they were closed and never communicated anything to me or Uber Eats leaving me foodless, decided to order directly from the narrows instead and just go pick it up myself (on superbowl Sunday Evening mind you)

I kid you not they had it ready in probably less than 15 minutes. A previous time that I ordered from here for pick up, it was also ready very quickly as well! As a local I will prioritize getting a burger and fries here when I’m in the mood rather than a certain other restaurant on highway 7 ;)“

“This is an interesting place. Usually myself and two friends come here to play pool and just chill. Don't tend to order drinks anymore too often as it takes quite a bit of time to get one. Even when it's pretty slow. Maybe they are just tired and ready to go home. We do go there between 11pm-1am. Maybe it's because there is usually some idiot(s) there causing a scene and having to be kicked out. The bartenders are very kind though so I will give them that.“

“Was a little weird at first.. walked in to a guy named Bob dripping wet with 6 shamwows laying on the floor next to him. Started talking, friendly guy but thinks cheese on burgers is gross. Huge red flag. Also, he got so drunk I had to turn into an Uber for the night to get him home safely. Exceptional place otherwise.“

“Was at Moes's Char House Chanhassen with Sarah Morgan . Pulled $250 in Pulltabs. The waiter, an Excelsior Dufus, would not let me use 3 credit cards, he demanded cash. I tipped him $30 and then the manager yelled at me for shorting the tab. $50 in cash had gone missing from the table as the Excelsior Man giggled at me. I tipped him $30 more and left. Don't go to Moe's Char House!“

“We had a wedding reception dinner here last Saturday and I would highly recommend it. Mike was so helpful the last month answering all my questions and getting everything I needed to make our night perfect. Everyone was ranting and raving on how good the food was! Our bartender Kyle C. was awesome! He was busing tables and serving drinks like a champ. He even found me the last Busch light in the bar and saved it for me. Our night could have not been more perfect thanks to the hard working staff here. Best of all it worked great with our budget! “Went here randomly after a karate tournament and we were in the area. We were presently surprised by the variety of food. The quality of everything the service was impeccable, and we were very satisfied with our meals. “The Old Minneapolis cocktail is a nice, sweet version of an old fashioned.
Cheese curds are lightly battered and lightly fried. Perfectly melted cheese inside. Very nicely done.
Walleye had good flavor with a nice butter sauce.

“Great place for a child’s birthday gathering! Super family friendly (yummy fries too!). Very affordable! We were here on a Friday evening and it was not busy which made me a little sad for the place. I understand the comments about the guy at the desk, but don’t let that stop you; it’s such a quick interaction. He did end up being very nice and helpful with a couple things we needed (lighter for cake candles and plate and utensils). If you’re looking for somewhere fancy and updated, this probably isn’t the place for you. I would recommend this bowling alley, we’ll be back.“

So much beautiful wood and the wall lanterns are placed at just the right height to give thst special warm glow that is neither too dark or bright - just right.
Food menu is varied with Prime Rib on Friday and Saturday nights. They will deliver your cut of meat exactly how you want it. Don't forget to order the special stuffed hash browns for your table guests, so delicious. Plus they have children's offerings and crayons to color the paper sheets. Fancy burgers, walleye, pasta, salads and other enticing entrees.
Service is exceptional and views of the lake are wonderful. Prices are in keeping with mid-high restaurants around $26-36 per person. Too full to order dessert this time. Will have to return.“

“We had an excellent lunch today! The waitress did notify us right away that they were still new to the systems and a new owner and that things may be a little chaotic but, It was our first time stopping in and we hope to make it up that way again, soon! Picture may look weird but I'm a NO BUN gal. I also want to mention the fries were PERFECT! We were pleasantly surprised when they arrived already seasoned and they were hot and crispy but not overcooked I even told my granddaughter I think those were the best order of french fries I've ever had anywhere because they were hot and perfect and seasoned! The waitress also suggested the seasoned sour cream over the plain sour cream, and I would definitely recommend to do that, it was all delicious! The building is cool and it's got a great looking outdoor patio that we wanted to sit at but it kept raining off and on so we decided to sit inside. But next time I would love to sit outside! I know there was one person working behind the bar and I'm pretty sure our server was the only one working the whole floor other than possibly the new owner, or maybe it was the manager, that was helping to bus tables a little bit, and take out food and she/server did an amazing job.“
