“We went as a party of five on Easter Sunday. The staff were attentive and helped us with any of the issues. Why does this establishment have large tables set directly outside the bathrooms that look into each restroom as the door opens, and the smell of the bathroom wave out while you are eating? They tried to seat us at one of those and I asked for a different table, which they did accommodate as the server told us that the tables were already assigned and not sure that they could move us. For the quality of dining at a restaurant like Salut, I am aghast they would have tables within 6 feet of bathroom doors of which you can look right into when people exit and enter. The food was delicious. They did serve us an under flavored bowl of French onion soup, which they corrected when we notified them. The staff agreed that it was not up to par, and gave us a free bowl. The second was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant, but if you were calling to make a reservation, I would specifically request not to be seated at the bathroom tables. Come on y'all!“
“Hands down one of my favorite new restaurants of 2024 so far. Service was amazing (they clear your plates and utensils between every course), and every dish my group ordered was amazing. I was a huge fan of the pork chop, smoked eel, and I still dream of the octopus bolognese. It is a bit of a pricier spot, but totally worth it (I'm already thinking about when I'd come back for the bolognese). It's a little small inside since it took over the old Revival on Nicollet, but I love the moody vibes.“
“Chole by Vincent fills a gaping void in the Twin Cities restaurant scene — French Traditional dishes, done to perfection, without feeling a need to have a “unique twist” or “fusion” element. Don’t get me wrong, those other kinds of restaurants can be good. But, when you want comfort food in an amazing environment, look no further than Chole. Our group had the French Onion soup and the daily special mushroom soup appetizers. Both of which were excellent. For mains, we had steak frites, cassoulet, the scallops, and a Vincent burger. Again, all excellent. Try it – you won’t regret it!“
“Went here for dinner with my wife and brother. We were seated promptly and service was very attentive. The vibe of this place is really interesting, especially the décor. The adult beverage list is extensive and reasonably priced. My brother and I ordered the Wagu Butter Burger - 10/10! Maybe tope 3 burgers I've ever had in my life. It was perfection. The fries were also a cut above. My wife's Mediterranean sampler tasted fine, but she said my burger was better. No complaints at all. I'll be back!“
“When we discovered The Tasting Room we were looking for somewhere special to celebrate my Husband’s 50th birthday. We came to the Tasting Room and I contacted the owner and head chef, Nico, over email. Nico was very responsive and provided great communication the entire time, making the planning process much less stressful. Nico was able to accommodate all our needs easily.Once we got to the restaurant, we were escorted to a beautiful private room in the establishment's basement. The room was designed to resemble a speakeasy and had a large wine cellar in the back of the room.Once everyone arrived, Nico began to present a wine tasting to us himself. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and was able to present that information entertainingly. The wines he had picked out tasted delicious as well. Along with the wine tasting, Nico and his marvelous staff served a wonderful dinner consisting of Black Caviar, Olive Oil Poached Salmon, a wonderful Wagyu Beef Zabuton, and more wonderful items. Throughout the entire service, the staff was attentive and kind and ensured that we and our guests were taken care of.For the high-quality service, the price was also quite reasonable. We recommend the Tasting Room to anyone, and we will be coming back.“
“If you've been looking for a reason to come back downtown, you have it! David Fhima , Eli Fhima and team have again knocked it out of the park. Phenomenal coffee and pastries. I can't wait to be down for wine soon too! SO great to have this in the Capella Tower!“
“You walk in into a small yet inviting waiting area with a small bar. If you got the pre drink package, you get a small menu of crafted cocktails or you can ask the bartender to make your own. After your introductory drink, they take you to the dining area which is a U shaped are with the kitchen in the center. You get an amazing experience from start to finish with 7 to 11 courses; you won't leave hungry. The wine pairing is carefully selected for a perfect match to each dish. The food is TOP NOTCH. They way the flavors come together in your pallet is really an experience you need to have for yourself.“
“Had a lovely brunch with my partner and her parents. The atmosphere walking in is very inviting and intimate. The service was splendid with nice appropriate information. The food was stunning! Everything was perfectly balanced with flavor and presentation. The brunch menu is limited but well rounded. We will be back for date night to try out the full dinner menu!“
“The vegan pho is incredible! I got it with egg noodles (because I'm not actually vegan), added all the complimentary toppings, including some spicy chili and tahini on top. It was absolutely delicious! I wish the hours were a bit longer so I could get this for dinner, but in the absence of that possibility, I would highly recommend this soup for lunch!“
“This place amazed me. I randomly walked by this place. and it smelled so good I turned around and went back for a snack..What a treat! I ordered a housemade chai and a cup of the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Wow, really impressed. Both were delicious. I was surprised the soup even came with 5 pieces of toasted baguette. Super affordable and delightful with great ambience and service. Grateful moments!“
“This brunch spot is adorable and has excellent food and drinks. The service wasn’t great - no one explained to us the self serve area vs full service area when we walked in, just stared at us. Another group walked in behind us and the staff then proceeded to explain everything quite kindly to them. The staff member that took our order at the counter acted quite annoyed and barely spoke to us.“
“Nice to see you still in business all these decades later! I still remember working for your bakery on Opening Day and a line out the door, as your pastries deserved! Hope all is well with the lovely French chefs and family who started this place. Wishing you the best! Was so happy to see the Feuilletine Praline cake recipe still being made, my favorite treat from this spot.“
“A wonderful meal made better by excellent server! Our server was a lovely woman (sorry I did not get her name) who carefully explained the menu and worked with us to accommodate our group of 6. the food was quite good, as well. We enjoyed the chicken, scallops & fish special, as well as truffle fries as an appetizer.“
“The Rand Tower Hotel is a site to see… if you appreciate an Art Deco atmosphere this is the place. It was my first time at this establishment and was recommended by fellow colleagues. Very romantic and stylish. I would see about staying here in the near future to get the full experience. Blondette restaurant/bar was a pleasant experience. Cocktail/food menu was very interesting and tasty nothing like it anywhere else. I give this experience along with its cordial staff a 5 star rating experience.“
“Great happy hour starting at 3 pm! Gorgeous interior in the historic Rand Tower!Delicious drinks, both nonalcoholic and (strong) alcoholic drinks. I had the Nymphea, yum! ?The oysters were good! Really good French fries too!! The beef tartar was ok, it’s worth trying.Overall this is a great place that more people should go to!Parking: This is downtown Minneapolis, so there are pay parking ramps all around and pay street parking spots.Kid-friendliness: I don’t know I’d bring my kids here, it’s more of an adult cocktail lounge.“
“This hotel is beautiful and so unique. Was here for a 60th birthday party and the food was so great. Loved the bar/lounge/lobby area with live music following the party. Rooms were spacious and they used all of the most beautiful features of the old building. Definitely would come back.“
“My 94-year-old grandfather, Quentin Johnson, used to work here from 1947 to 1951 as a busboy and fry cook. Fast forward 73 years later, he took me here for my 27th birthday. We both had the signature Henry VIII hamburger, which he used to broil back in the day. It was a wonderful meal. The restaurant and inn are beautiful, rich in history, and very charming. As my grandpa put it, "This is what you call 'Class.'"Tonight was particularly special because we had the honor of speaking with Mike Noble, the innkeeper and grandson of founder John Noble. If you get to read this, Mike, thank you for such a special and precious night. My grandpa told me that this was one of the most special nights he's had in years. Hearing him share stories of working at the Normandy and learning that this job put him through college (and housed him while attending Augsburg) really is a big part of his life story and is a lifelong memory I will cherish. The Normandy is a shining example of the quality and care you give to your patrons as well as to your staff. Thank you for keeping such a special place running.Respectfully,Andrew Johnson“
“We had an unexpected and amazing afternoon here - so much so that I felt compelled to write a review. This is a hidden gem. We had fantastic service and great advice , the wine choices were amazing and all reasonably priced. Impressed and surprised by the food - which was fantastic! Definitely recommend the Brie bites. Will definitely return.“
