Excellent food. Had the King Henry burger. A once in a while treat since downtown prices are astronomical, all because of that $15 minimum wage. I did not have dessert being the price was in the $11 range. Not worth it to me. The bartenders should be careful and cut off a person already drunk. A reason why I won’t return to the place. I prefer to enjoy my meal without a drunk friend of management being over served.
My 94-year-old grandfather, Quentin Johnson, used to work here from 1947 to 1951 as a busboy and fry cook. Fast forward 73 years later, he took me here for my 27th birthday. We both had the signature Henry VIII hamburger, which he used to broil back in the day. It was a wonderful meal. The restaurant and inn are beautiful, rich in history, and very charming.
