“Our waiter Joshua was very attentive making sure our waters were full and that wee got a refill on chips when we needed.

The food we orders was the Cuban sandwich , a steak taco, and a shrimp taco. The Cuban was very delicious the meat was juicy and had a great taste to it and even though it was very juice the bread didn't get soggy! Both types of tacos were good the shells did fall apart easily though.
With ordering the chips and salsa they brought out three different salsas for every heat preference they brought out a hot, mild, and medium. I really enjoyed the spicy salsa and the mild wasn't the biggest fan of the medium!“

“NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY !! They were randomly closed on a Wednesday, which is fine, however their website DID NOT provide this information ! I ordered my food, they took my money, and the confirmation said that the pick up would be the following day . So I went to the location to see what was going on and that's when I saw the sign in the window claiming they were closed . They have NO option to cancel your order once you've made it so I had to wait to the following day to call . They refuse to refund me my money - I'm only in office one day a week , I'm not driving 35 minutes to pick up food that I wanted the day before ! Whoever answered the phone kept talking over me and cutting me off , she admitted that they don't have a way to cancel an order once it's made (which is ridiculous, I could've just canceled it that day and we wouldn't be in this situation ) I explained to her over and over again that their website DID NOT state that they were closed but she didn't care ! “We chose Queen of Cakes for our wedding dessert after trying their vegan chocolate cake at a friend’s wedding (it was delicious by normal cake standards, not to mention vegan!).

They were very friendly and easy to work with throughout the whole process; their wedding cake trial is affordable and convenient, and so is ordering and pick-up. We got filled sheet cakes of the vanilla with tripleberry mousse, chocolate with amaretto mousse, and vegan chocolate with raspberry, and a two-tier chocolate with chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache. (The last flavor was suggested by Terry when I asked her for the “chocolatest” flavor, and I am so grateful!) My friend picked them up from the shop on the day of the wedding, which was also so easy.

Our only mix-up was that the chocolate amaretto sheet cake was “lost” by our catering team who cut it and served it, and potentially grouped it with the vegan cake on the dessert table. I don’t know what the labels on the cakes looked like, but I wanted to let you know of the mix-up we had so you can consider it in future packaging/labeling decisions!

Beyond that snafu, though: every flavor was delicious, we got so many compliments, and the servings are generous. Thank you! You truly are the Queen!

“I wanted to come here after a long time since my last visit. Mostly because I was eager to have their sea scallops Benedict again, which has always seemed like such a unique yet fitting dish. We came here on a Friday night over the holidays, without a reservation, hoping to get a spot at the bar.

Even though they were super busy, it was very easy getting a table because the host let us know about first come first serve tables in the bar. But that wasn’t the only great service, since our server, Keith, was super informative, helpful, and personable. Brian also got every dish out of the way as soon as we were done.

Just about everything we ordered was delicious and well worth the visit. The food also came out fast. The only thing we didn’t finish or take home was the calamari. With everything being so well executed, I was hoping the calamari would follow suit, but I would skip it in the future.

I still think they should be in the conversation for best steakhouse in the twin cities.

Vegetarian options: They had a wonderful wild rice pilaf with several vegetables in it. I put the pot roast on top of it, but it was labeled vegetarian along with some baked pasta and several cold salad choices.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have double doors with a ramp entrance and plenty of table space to accommodate a wheelchair. Plenty of handicap parking also.“

“Have enjoyed this restaurant for years and years. On a recent visit (January 2025), I ordered my usual panang chicken curry. It was much spicier than I remembered it, but I’m certain the fault was with my
memory, as the more bites I took, the more I realized the perfection of the spice level. I tried adding a small amount of the house-made chili sauce, but it didn’t need it. It was perfect just the way it came out of the kitchen.

“The thing that impressed me the most about this restaurant was the staff. The general manager Rob took the time to make us feel welcome and cared for. He does an outstanding job. The bartenders are amazing. Not only are the drinks inventive and delicious but the service was spot on. At the end of our meal the assistant manager stopped by to check on us one last time. “Tavern 23 is our go-to place to eat on France Avenue. The service is attentive, and we have made friends with some of the servers. The food is always good. When the patio is open, we enjoy sitting there and enjoying the scenery and the breeze.“

“Our server was amazing . We had a little incident at our table where a glass tipped over broke right in to a shareable we had at the table. He immediately thought how to clean it up without having to interrupt a lot. He said I will be replacing this entire table along with any food just because of broken glass. He ordered another shareable to replace the one with glass and swapped the entire table with the one next to us and replaced the alcoholic drink that caused the problem lol. He dealt with the other table at a different area so it wouldn’t interfere with our gathering!! I mean that was such great service.“

“In giving my daughter a YES day I needed a place that would serve cheeseburgers burgers and sushi. CRAVE delivered! Our sever was sweet and very tentative to my 8yr/o daughter. Assuming we were there at shift change for servers because they were doing cut work and we had a slight delay in table service but overall the food, experience and service encompassed a good dining experience where I would recommend and would dine again!“

“Walk-up counter to order then you seat yourself and get a number where they will then serve you. You don’t have to buss your own dishes but at least you get real silverware though no cloth napkins they are very soft paper napkins. All pizza crusts are thin and offer GF. Ingredients were delicious and I wouldn’t compare it to other sit-down full-service restaurants. It was a bit more informal than I had anticipated. I feel like it should be categorized has a deli and cafe on Googles categories. Small wine selection. I enjoyed the Decoy Sauvignon Blanc.“

We were talking about how I was going through a hard time and our server, Julie H., was near our table and she just reached over and gave me a hug.
