“Awesome food and people. Flame grilled bar burgers made to order everyday. Great regular weekly specials. Fry bread tacos are amazing on Tuesdays (big as you head), fried chicken on Wednesdays is the best in the entire coulee region, and the beer battered fish and shrimp on Fridays is awesome. Get the beer battered shrimp; they’re huge! Everything is made fresh to order. Love Barb the owner too. Worth the drive.“

“always love the food at Buzzard Billy's. every year my very dear friend hosts his birthday party here and, as he is an older disabled gentlemen who loves people, every year he invites everyone he knows and I have to guess how many will show up. the staff here always accommodates our irregular group and shows great patience with those of us that need a little extra attention. This year, our server was Karen and she was incredibly pleasant, efficient, and understanding. I really appreciate her working so well with our somewhat difficult party. :)“

“Today my son was at the Culver’s in Onalaska, WI by the high school for lunch. He had no money and had called to try to get money sent to his phone so he could eat with his friends. I called the store to see if I could pay for his food over the phone. The lady who answered explained that she couldn’t take payment over the phone but she would pay for his meal. I said I would pay her back and she said don’t worry about it. She met him by the ice cream cooler and paid for his meal. She was so kind and didn’t even think twice. For someone who probably had a lot more to worry about - like the 60+ kids in her lobby waiting for food, she stopped and used her own money to help my son out. Incredible! I didn’t quite catch her name so will be going in on Friday to see if I can find her to thank her! Incredible person!“

“Our family came to Howies after my daughter raved about this place. We brought my brother and his daughter with. We got to sit up top so our waitress had to carry our drinks and food to up to us. If you haven’t met waitress Jessica W yet you must! She was a rock star! She kept our drinks full and got our food to us in a timely manner. She was so friendly and we all loved her. The food was dynamite! We loved the appetizers and our main meal. We will for sure be back and will be asking for Jessica again!“

“Passing through town & always love trying a new Supper Club! Rocky’s was top notch! There was a 45 minute wait, which gave us ample time to enjoy a couple of Old Fashions & take in the ambience of a small town crowd! The 2 bartenders were on it! Once seated, was amazing to watch 2 waitresses, 2 bus people & the hostess, serve the dining room flawlessly!! Both the famous cheese curds & fish fry were scrumptious, fresh, piping hot!! Have not eaten out anywhere in a long time where we have had this kind of meal & service!! Thank you & kudos to all! Highly recommend!!“

“Stayed here for work Sept , Oct and it is just great. The staff is very nice! There is a small pool and a hot-tub glass windows to see the river. Its nice place to sit when its cold. The Bar looks out on the river. Breakfast lunch and dinner with lounge and tv's in the booths. The patio outside is great they have a fire pit and allow smoking. Its a short walk to everything and a short drive to anything. Parking can be a problem in La Crosse its best to walk, ride bike etc. The rooms are nice the location is perfect.“

“On Saturday Jan 27, 2024 we went to Blue Moon for our 2nd round of Prime Rib. And once again it was fantastic. Ordered rare and large and it was cooked to perfection, and we got onion rings instead of potatoes. The salad however had a lettuce that I just couldn't eat. I'm not sure what lettuce variety it was, but it's not for me. Blue Moon is our "GO TO" for Prime Rib. It's 40 miles from Whitehall but we haven't found anywhere better.“

“Very relaxing, everyone so friendly and food was fabulous! We stayed at The Radisson to see the Rotary Lights. After, we went back, freshened up and went downstairs for dinner, very convenient. We asked to be by the windows with a view the lights while we ate but no seats were available and our table was set at a different location, waiting for us to finish our drinks. The gentleman that seated us, moved our table to a window seat that had just opened up without even asking before we went in. We were very impressed that he did this and it made our meal that much more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and would highly recommend. This is our 4th year going there for the lights and we would do it any other way! Enjoy!!!“

“We love Diggers. Best in La Crosse. But a recent trip let us down. The classic bread crack to locals was gone. Fayzes provided it and they closed. Today People’s Food Coop brought Fayzes bakery back. Hoping the wonderful bread is restored!“

Parking: Sometimes there's overflow from the hotel, so you may have to fight for a space. A full parking lot here doesn't necessarily mean a long wait.“
