“I come here often during lunch and the service is quick and food is always delicious. Today I overheard another guest complaining that something they ordered nearly a month ago was burnt and too spicy, demanding a refund. The manager was very kind and polite despite the customer being unreasonable and rude. Bottom line, the staff and food are great. Don't let the scam artist "frequently customer" get you down!“

Drunken noodles, Thai basil fried rice and spicy wings. This was the BEST three out of any place in the twin cities. The Drunken noodles were thin, rich, and the medium spice was purpose. The fried rice didn't clump, the basil was fantastic, and the flavors were great. And the glaze and cut on the spicy wings was perfect. Wow. Fan for life.“

“Mela is a family favorite, we were looking for a new Thai restaurant when we moved into the area, and this is definitely the best. The curries are fantastic but we usually get the Pad Thai, purely out of familiarity. The massaman curry is out of this world, too. The spice here is serious, so if you love food that brings the heat this will definitely be a winner for you. Milder dishes are definitely available and other dishes can be tamed in flavor for those with less adventurous palates.Overall I would highly recommend.“

“Authentic? Absolutely! How can it not be? The chef is authentically Hmong, his experiences are Hmong, and thus his food is ? Hmong! Traditional? Not completely. I love it for what it is…an evolution of the Hmong food diaspora here in America! While visiting my beautiful niece and her little family, I had a strong hankering to eat Hmong food. She suggested this brilliant establishment. The wait was short and the portions abundant. While eating I was transported back to mom/dad’s kitchen, and the after school meals they would prepare for us! The sausage is excellent and had all the flavors of Hmong new year. Lemongrass, fat, herbs, salt…and crunch! The pork was perfectly cooked and we loved dipping it in hot sauce along with the sticky rice. I highly recommend this authentic Hmong dining experience and can not wait to dine at Vinai next time I visit. I just wish Seattle had something similar. Thank you Chef Yia for moving our food into the future while preserving our past! Cheers!“

She was so friendly and showed me all the herbs that she uses for her dishes. “This is by far the best Thai that we have in the neighborhood! I usually get pad Thai and red curry anytime I try a new place, and I’ve been disappointed with the two other places nearby—but not here! I asked for pad Thai Flamin hot with tofu and it’s one of the best I’ve had in a very long time. The tofu was perfectly cubed and fried without being greasy, and the sauce a rich brown color with notes of peanut, tamarind, and lime (slightly sweet and tangy), and the spice was perfectly hot without being overpowering. Most other places give me mild/medium when I ask for Thai hot, and this place actually listened. The red curry was also memorable with bright flavors from the Thai basil and veggies. Poured over rice, it’s a heavenly combo perfect for a cold night. I am so grateful to have a new go-to Thai spot! I hope they stick around for a long time.“

“Found this spot 2 years ago and we (coworkers) have been going regularly for lunch ever since. We've tried a few things off the menu, but the main thing we're ordering is the beef noodle soup "pho". IMHO best 'dark' broth pho in the area! --probably because there isn't any other spots within a 5min drive from our work place. I mean we have tried other spots further, but nothing has beat this spot in terms of flavor. There's probably 2 that are close, but none has us wanting to go back for more. Service-wise you can expect the expected. On busy days, service is slow. You can also expect that sometimes food will take 15+minutes. It's also possible you might have to grab more napkins on your own if you need more. It's also possible you might have to ask for more water as well. What I'm saying is, the service is there. They're all friendly and nice people. Do be warned though, you might hear the aunty be demanding sometimes to new workers. The place is nice. Situated between a small pet store and a sports store. I don't think any of the tables are wobbly, but don't blame me if there is, personally, we've only really sat in a few booths and tables. They've got plenty of tables. I don't recall any music, but I do recall just a slideshow of their menu on repeat. Just sneaking in my 'ambiance' piece. Anyways, pro tip: if you're trying to grab a quick lunch and dine-in, you can order ahead of time on the phone. Another pro tip: during lunch hours, lunch special portion is a good option if you're not able to eat a whole entree by yourself. So if you see something you want and it's on the lunch special, give it a go. Just some info on things I've tried: Khao Soy is one of the best I've had in the Cities, unless someone can point me to a better spot. Chicken Lettuce Wrap is . Spicy chicken wing is hit or miss, but when it hits, it's . Don't expect the Pad Kra Pow to be like your typical Thai restaurant - this one is a light stir fried version without the fried egg and without the minced meat. Rah Nah is real good. Fried rice is . I highly recommend this spot. Note* get your spice levels correctly. Be warned, mild can be spicy.“

“This place ranks among the best Thai food I have had in the U.S. The chef commands a mix of spicy, sweet, umami, and acidic flavors in a way that only the bestchefs can.-To drink, I got the Thai iced green tea. The slightly more astringent green tea paired really well in this drink, which was not overly sweet as Thai iced teas can be.-We got the #33 shrimp salad, which was perfectly limey.-#43, the Yen Tha foe, was truly one of the best soups I've ever eaten. The depth of flavor in the broth, the silky-gushy noodles, and the marvelous textures combined for something I'd like to eat for my last meal.-Pad eggplant was silky and umami-laden.“

“Restaurant was empty when we got there and packed within 30 minutes - all the tables were reserved. With it being such a small spot I definitely recommend making a reservation when possible. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, she was detailed and helpful in answering our questions and recommending drinks. We got a mix of sushi, thai, and ramen, all of which were equally delicious! You could really tell the food was freshly made and of great quality. I recommend trying the thai iced coffee as well if you are up for a cold, sweet, umami drink. A word of the wise for those of us a little less accustomed to asian spice (if you know what i mean...) - please don't lie to yourself about how much heat you can handle, the spicy ramen is SPICY. The “level 3” heat we ordered was a lot. Do yourself the favor and get a 1 if possible and ask for some of the hot sauce on the side so you can add it in to your liking. My friend was absolutely humbled. He was all but in tears. I have never seen his face so red. I think our waitress got a real kick out of this as well (she did try her best to warn us about The Spicy, so it was all in good fun) ? Overall, a great little spot. We'll be returning for sure!!“

“First time visit and I had the impression to order pho, but the menu selection was very exciting. The organization of the menu is real easy to read. I must say the prices of the appetizers and entrees are affordable. Which helped to order more than 1 item to explore and enjoy something new.I ordered the Pad Thai with Tofu. The taste was on point and a great portion. Ended up taking half of the Pad Thai to go. The limes really helped me enjoy the noodles and the sauce selection at the table was helpful. By the way - the tofu was cooked perfectly. Crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. I would order this again in the near future.Someone please invite me.I also ordered Oyster Chicken Wings and it was crazy. I couldn’t believe how crispy each wing was and the sauce was delicious.
