“Saturday lunch is when I've been here. The food is quite good and the service is great as always. I've done the Reuben in the past,but this year I've been trying California burgers everywhere. It was pretty good, but beware, it's big. It was big enough that I should have asked for a bigger knife to cut it in half. I liked it and it's almost certain I'll have it next time.“

Its just very annoying and false advertisement. They literally got their menu redone but couldnt edit out the cabbage part/picture?? Make it make sense. I am curious what is the owners excuse is. Sometimes i order the papaya to go and ask for cabbage and they say its for dine in only but when i order it dining in, they say it doesnt come with cabbage. 🤨. Plus they charge for pepper on the side🌶️ 😮….i wanted it for my pork belly laab 💣.“

“When I eat I drink Bloody Mary's they just taste better with my food if I feel like a drink, let me tell you I had a very reasonable priced Bloody Mary and it was on Point I could taste everything in the drink a first for me and it had all the fixings as well, I appreciated that. They also have a place too eat Pop's and Son grill I ordered 4 wings and a brisket topped Baked potato I asked for my wings hard didn't get that but they tasted ok and the brisket was not a lot but also good I didn't bring my wings back because they seemed real busy they brought me someone else's food at first them my order and I appreciated Who I assume was Pop came and talked to his customer's checking on them and their food they gave us A 1 service I work in kitchen's and understand things happen sometimes it's how you react to the situation and after that matters the most and they gave the all. I will try them again because they food is good, and they fact they was busy, busy so that let me know a lil sum People like they food I was also asking people in the line about food and if they been here before and I got more yes than no and good food I heard ok Pop and Sons I'll be back..the bar also had karaoke A good time was had Thanks Cheers“

“First and only visit w/ a friend. Friendly service, though I cannot speak to the quality of mixed drinks or beer selection since I'm sober and just ordered a juice and water. Slow night, which was much more my vibe. Very clean establishment on my visit. Definitely preferable to the 617 bar. Don't go there. Come here instead. WB Bar has more space, they have pool tables, AND the beautiful bartender is far more polite to those who are new and aren't looking to be treated like an out of towner when they are in fact more local than some of these other snobs! 🤓☮️“

“I don't go here often, and each time I've gone, there's been a change in food offerings. Several years ago, it was more American bar food. About 2 years ago, there was more of a Mexican and American food offering. As of a few days ago, it is an Asian and American food offering. We chose the selection of appetizers of potstickers, egg rolls, spring rolls and cream cheese wonton at $8/ea. The apps were tasty and our bartender was pleasant. The customers appeared to be regulars as the bartender was offering to get them their usual as they entered. A welcoming environment for the middle of the afternoon. I do wish the tap beer was colder, but I also didn't ask if they offered a frosted mug. I'd go again without hesitation.“

“A classic Saint Paul neighborhood bar, with simple grub yet so affordable, a mix of Asian and American. All served as takeaway but you can eat it there if you want and the portions are gigantic. There's bingo two nights a week, a Friday afternoon meat raffle, and pulltabs/etabs. Locals are the majority of the clientele but for all its grittiness, it's a safe place with patrons who care about the establishment! Watch out for the parking lot. It's a dirt lot minefield of potholes that will destroy your transmission of you go faster than 1 mph.“

“Love the new space. Digital signage said burgers were $3 on Wednesdays. They were $4. Still tasty and a great deal, but update your sign. I sat for 10 minutes and watched the server take a picture of people at a table and chat with her friends. Never came near my high top table. I finally went to the bartender (very nice) who took my drink and food order. Server swung by 10 minutes later (20 minutes after I sat down). Told her I ordered from the bartender. She never stopped by after that. I was there for 45 minutes, saw her interact with her tables twice. Service was pretty scarce. 2 or 3 staff sitting in a booth. If the bartender hadn't been awesome, I would have left. Burger and onion rings were good.“

“I love this bar, I come in and spend money all the time. I buy drinks for people and always tip the bartenders and servers. Today I came in looking to conserve money because I’m getting hit with school loans. I ask the bartenders if I could just tip a dollar and hang out and he says no. I ask my buddy Dave if he can cover a soda but he’s tapped. So I oblige and go to my wallet and pull out a 5 to pay for a half order of fries. The bartender denies me service and accuses me of getting the money from bar partrons. This is MY money that I earned and here I am willing to spend it in order to follow their rules of no hanging out without spending money.

This man damn near lost me as a customer. I’ve spend hundreds of dollars at this establishment over the last few months.

I still think this is a great bar and the other staff are fantastic, the food is great and people are generally friendly( as friendly as Minnesota can be).

This bartender will never receive a tip From me again. Pissed off that I’ve tipped him in the past.
I just played pull tabs since he literally denied me service.

“After a long day of work, stopped by to eat here. First has a small bowl of tortilla soup (freezing weather outside) and then had the Mexican Chicken bowl and was very well done. Enjoyed it with an Arnold Palmer. Waited longer for a drink refill than I like to but it was busy.“

“I have been here dozens of times. Great location just off of 694/Silver Lake Road. Good place for cocktails, meeting up with friends or business lunch. A large menu with a variety of options. It can be a bit loud. During the summer the outdoor seating is great.“
