“I stopped in around 2pm on 7/5 while heading home from up north (for a to-go order). They weren't very busy, likely because they close at 3pm, though it felt like they'd had a busy holiday weekend.

The staff was friendly & quickly helped show me on the dry-erase menu boards that a few items were no longer available for the day on their house specialties menu, including paninis & breakfast sandwiches (the BYO lunch menu also wasn't available). My husband had hoped for a breakfast sandwich, but breakfast ends at 1pm. I ordered the veggie wrap with cheese & ranch instead of mayo & avocado. They were skimpy on the cheese & ranch, but the ingredients were incredibly fresh, which made up for it (and because they were conservative on the ranch, it wasn’t soggy to eat half later). The full-size wrap was huge and it came with kettle chips & a pickle spear. I’m primarily vegetarian & appreciated having a filling option— it felt like a great value.

My husband said the mini glazed donuts were pretty good. I loved browsing the fun gift shop area, especially the greeting cards. It's only about a mile off Hwy 371, and I'd definitely stop back to try more of the menu and grab some to-go items.”

“Really good food, the white cheddar hashbrowns are delicious. It was a short walk from where we are staying. Pamela gave us an excellent experience! Ivana is also amazing! They are both very kind, accommodating, and helpful. It was a great vacation stop.”

“#1. The waitress’s were by far the most friendly, welcoming, down to earth ladies I have met in a long time! (To my kindred AZ waitress, the ice isn’t that bad, if I can do it so can you!) #2. The food - coming from a pretty picky person when it comes to what ”good food is” ….mouthwateringly delicious! Every bite from the cornbread, to the brisket, burnt ends, mac n cheese, & potato salad. #3. The place is clean, with a gorgeous view of the pristine looking golf course. What else can I say, try it! You won’t regret it if you know what good food is. We will definitely be coming back.”

“A group of friends and I were at the Commander on Friday and Saturday night...we were so impressed with our waitress both nights. She was working with a broken arm and was always there when we needed a drink or something from the menu. She had a great attitude and was super fun. I believe her name was Alyssa.”

“Was looking for a quick place to catch a beer and some "bar food' after a day on the lake, so we stopped in. Turns out we were wrong, this place served cold beer from a long menu, had the most courteous staff (were more than happy to deal with food allergies, with a smile) and then served us food that should have been in a top tier restaurant. To say the least we were more than happy and will always come back when in the area.”
