Mexican Restaurants near Pine Island

“Excellent Mexican food!

My wife and I passed through here on a whim on our way back to the Twin Cities after spending the day in Rochester. The restaurants in Rochester were too busy with long lines, so we opted to look outside the city and found Los Reyes in Pine Island as a result.

I'm glad we did, because we were treated to a delicious, authentic-tasting Mexican meal. This no-frills, small family operation is a hole in the wall worth exploring. My wife got the chicken enchilada -- a monster wrapped in a fried tortilla. And I got the gorditas poblanas on the recommendation of others who have reviewed here. After sampling each other's, we wound up swapping dishes because we liked what the other got so much!

As this place grows, I'm sure the service will become a little snappier and the atmosphere will fill out a little more. What should never change is the food. Nor the people! They were all very kind and lovely.
