“I drove by this hidden gem weeks ago and finally was able to stop in for lunch today. I gotta say that this is some of the best tasting food I have experienced in Minnesota since returning home. I tried the Picadillo meal which was perfectly seasoned and not over salted like some places do. The rice was a perfect consistency and a freshy made salsa added a little kick to the meal. The customer service was top notch and I will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. A+++“

Food: Gorgeous/amazing presentation , fresh, hot, professionally packed. I ordered from Red Rabbit in Saint Paul for my work holiday party. Everyone LOVED the food and the portions are generous. I was able to easily and beautifully display it. The timing was perfect and everything went smoother than I had hoped. This is your one stop shop for all of your party food needs. “Accidentally arrived at Brunson's for lunch because the place down the road where we were supposed to go was closed. Best service I've had anywhere in America since before covid. Food was excellent, made from scratch, and doubt anyone could go wrong on the menu. Highly recommend.“

We had lasagna, pizza, and mac and cheese, and every single dish was delicious. “We have been frequent visitors of both LBC & IGBC since the beginning and tonight was hands down the best experience we have ever had. The food/atmosphere/drinks were great as always, but what put it over the top tonight at IGBC was our server- Caygen. She welcomed us and our 3 kids and had such an amazing attitude. She was friendly, cognizant of getting the kids drinks and then food in quickly and checked in frequently. We ordered a fruit cup for our one year old and she took the time to cut it up to make sure we didn’t have to and that it was ready for him to eat. This is something that we have never experienced and we were touched by the gesture. We will be back and hope to have her again!“

“I recently went in with my girlfriend and we had a server named Kat. She was incredible everytime I could even think of anything to ask for she was already bringing it, never needed a refill and also never seemed like she was ever interrupting. If there is better service out there I have never had it!“

We made a reservation same day and were seated at a lovely intimate bar facing the kitchen which was perfect because we are foodies and like to see and smell the food being prepared. We had the meatballs and focaccia as appetizers which were both excellent. Entrees were fantastic as well. What really made the experience one of the best was the staff. Our server was Aliya(? sorry, I adored you but I’m terrible with names and I’m guessing ) and she just made us feel so relaxed and taken care of. All of the staff were knowledgeable and polite but also so down to earth, and they worked together as a team seamlessly. You love to see it. They are doing it right in so many ways.“

“Food was ok for the price. Boat noodle had flavor and plenty of meat. Special pho(seafood) was a little bland and lacked flavor. Noodle portion to broth felt little. I would suggest using a smaller bowl to match the portions. Spring roll was presented well and fresh. Frog legs had a lot of flavor. I would suggest if you're eating here to get the more traditional dishes and stay away from the dishes you can get at other places, like the pho. Zero wait time and food came out within 10 mins and was fresh.“

“Myself and my fiancé are from Northern Minnesota and were there in July of last year. There were a couple of minor issues with our visit that day, but the food was delightful. Our server suggested that the manager may want to speak with me in regard to our experience, given the nature of the issues that occurred, so I left my business card and honestly forgot about it, as it wasn't that big of a deal to me. Some time later I received a letter at my office from the manager (I found out later that she's actually the owner.) She sent me a check to refund the cost of our meal, along with a very nice note of explanation and apology. The refund was way above and beyond what was necessary or expected. She took full responsibility for the issues that we had experienced at her establishment that day in July. She also asked for another opportunity to serve us the next time that we were in the area. This was a very classy (but unexpected) response to what I would consider to be something that wasn't that big of a deal to me, but it clearly was to her. Given the high standards that she clearly demonstrated for her establishment, there was no doubt that I would honor her request for a second opportunity. This last Saturday we were finally in town again and were able to visit the Basil Café for a second time. We had an absolutely delightful experience in every regard! After our meal, I asked the pleasant young lady that was checking on us if the manager happened to be in on a Saturday. Well, that turned out to be her! Her name is Tiffany, and she is the owner of the Basil Café. I introduced myself to her and she not only remembered the letter that she had sent and the small issues that occurred on our previous visit, but she also remembered my full name from memory!!! We had a very nice conversation and she sent us home with some extra spring rolls that we enjoyed at home later that evening. Tiffany, I also run a business, and the way that you treated us and handled that situation is an impressive lesson in customer service and leadership. You didn't just recover us as customers, you created 2 raving fans of your business through your actions and demeanor along with your wonderful cuisine. You easily could have brushed off the initial experience that we had last year. And, while we weren't upset about it, we likely wouldn't have thought to ever return to your establishment if you had. Instead, you held yourself and your wonderful restaurant to a higher standard, and you made 2 raving fans that will return again and again and will recommend your establishment at every opportunity. Tiffany, thank you for a wonderful dining experience and thank you for a refreshing attitude and demonstration of personal responsibility that you so impressively gave. That level of service and attention to detail is rare in our world today. BTW, the Drunken Noodles are delicious and so are the Spring rolls. We will see you again soon. - Jake & E.“

“It's a dive bar so ambiance isn't amazing but every single thing else is fantastic about this place. Great food, attentive staff, it is cash only but they have an ATM. I recommend coney dog with cheese if your ever interested in trying it out“

“A new Sunday tradition for my family is to swing by and grab a coffee and pastry for the road and then some bread for the week. Had the iced miel with oat milk and it was delicious. I'm also a sucker for any almond filled pastry. Any pastry I pick up is delicious, some or the best I've ever had.“
