“It was a pleasant surprise visiting this place because I definitely did not know about it at all prior to trying the food, but it was a wonderful balance of price, quantity, and flavor, to the point that it made my dining experience worth it! Kataki is nowhere close to an upscale or fine dining place but I felt like I paid for what the food was worth, and possibly even more! The highlights are definitely the sushi! My partner and I only got the yellowtail and the salmon roe sushi but they both tasted very flavorful, and the koshihikari rice was tasty as well. I could tell that the sushi was a specialty in this establishment. The price was very reasonable as well, with $7 for the yellowtail sushi and $11.5 for the salmon roe sushi. The Kataki rolls were great as well, even if I knew that the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy yellowtail combination wasn't uncommon. Someone it tasted fuller and more flavorful than similar items I have had elsewhere. The tonkotsu ramen was solid as well, and I was given a good amount of pork with good texture that tasted slightly different from what I was used to. The broth was only okay, but I know it's hard to achieve perfection for such in a restaurant so I was okay with it. For $14.50, it was worth it!The appetizers such as shumai, softshell crab tempura, age tofu, and takoyaki were also solid, and once again, for $7.5 each ($8.95 for the softshell crab) it was worth it, but they were not as good as the sushi in terms of economical value. The octopus meat in the takoyaki was hard. The age tofu relied on the sauce for flavor completely. And the shumai was a bit soggy. Regardless, they were all solid enough!Once again, I did not expect myself to give a 5 rating to a Japanese food place that wasn't the most well-known for its authenticity or fanciness, but the food was tasty and it made me "feel good" here! There are many establishments like this one, but somehow the food here has had more flavor in comparison.“
“New sushi place that is amazing!!! Easily our new go to for eating there or taking out sushi or great Japanese food. Been twice and both times service was super nice and quick. Wife has a new favorite sushi roll "Spicy Girl" and I had the ramen with crispy chicken, which was also great. Very happy to have such a solid place come to Burnsville. We will definitely be back very regularly!!!“
“I've been coming here for almost 2 years now REGULARLY. I have ordered the same drink every time, and never get sick of it. It's consistently the best thing I have ever tasted. The workers are also so kind!! They've never failed to make me smile, and they recognise me as the girl who orders the same thing every time haha... I have never had a bad experience here, and the food is just as amazing as the drinks!! Genuinely one of my favourite places nearby.FOR LILY AND JOEY WHEN I GO OFF TO COLLEGE:Order the Okinawa milk tea with strawberry bursting boba and strawberry jelly!!Kid-friendliness: Great environment!Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, and alll tables are generously spaced.“
“This place might throw you off if you've never been here before. It is blended in or might I even add overshadowed by office space. The first time I came here, I actually drove off because I saw a big tall office building. Didn't let that fool you though as they have an exterior entrance right into the restaurant. It's sushi so expect a higher price tag, but honestly not bad.I got a spicy tuna bowl with a dynamite roll. I felt that there were way too much mayo in the bowl which almost felt like I was just eating a spoon full of mayo at times. The roll had a hint of Taco as the sauce had a hint of Mexican flavored jalapeno spice. The place was filled with workers assumedly from the same building.I would recommend it.“
“Convenient sushi place for the south suburbs. We got takeout so I can't speak on the service or ambiance. I thought it was delicious, though my husband wasn't as big of a fan. I think the flavors were good but not as comparable to other sushi in the Twin Cities and suburbs. We got crab rangoon (more on the sweet side vs savory), two rolls, and chicken fried rice. The fried rice had a bit of a fishy aftertaste and was quite salty but my 2 year old daughter liked it regardless! I can't remember the rolls we got but they were good and satisfied my sushi craving. I liked the jasmine milk tea ! Huge serving of that and it was pretty affordable as well. Although the quality was fine, we felt like it was priced significantly higher compared to other sushi restaurants in the suburbs and the portions were a bit smaller. Regardless it was a good quick option for sushi that's not too far from us and it was still yummy!“
“We had the pleasure of Josh serving our table tonight. The food was wonderful he was very attentive! We will definitively be back when we are over in Eden Prairie again!Dietary restrictions: They ask you right away if you have an allergy we did not but I thought that was so kind as my daughter is allergic to nuts!“
“You want sushi? That's the place! It's not cheap, so be ready ? but it is worth it. They have a lot to choose from. Won't be disappointed. Dine in, take out, or delivery, they got it all. I usually take out. Call 20-30 minutes in advance. You'll love it ?“
“I love this place. We always go for the hibachi dinners and they are so good (Yum yum sauce is essential). The staff is very welcoming and gives good service. I personally haven't had the sushi but I've heard it's very good as well. Pretty cool style on the interior, nice lighting, and a relatively small space which is nice.“
“The veggie stir-fry I ordered was very good, and the tempura shrimp bento box was a great value with 5 tempura shrimp included with everything else.Vegetarian options: Good veggitarian options like you would expect.Dietary restrictions: They were able to make my stir-fry with gluten-free soy sauce.Kid-friendliness: The staff were kind to my toddler who was a little wild.“
“Our cravings led us to look up a sushi place in our area, and Google maps mentioned this place! Neither of us had been before and so we thought we’d give it a try!To both of our enjoyment, the place was very nice, with some fun wall art (especially in the bathrooms?), and a very quaint atmosphere! The service was very pleasant as well, not too pushy, and not too long in between either. It probably did help that we came a little later than the normal dinner rush timeframe. We ordered two sushi rolls, however, the ramen was on both of our minds, so we put in a second order for a bowl to share! The food was absolutely delicious and we kept mentioning how good it was while we chatted and munched. I would definitely recommend the California sushi rolls, but also the ramen as well, you can’t really have one without the other!“
“Great place to be honest! They should open it to the public, maybe?I love sushi in general and I can definitely say these are great quality. My taste bud lean more towards the healthy side. So If you’re looking for something like that? I’d recommend it.“
“The food and drinks here are great, maybe the best at the MOA. But the reason for this review and 5 stars is the staff. Evan and Tanner at the bar were so kind, personable, and provided great service. Just a joy to chat with, even briefly. We ended up coming back a second time later in the evening and then had Hannah serve us, who was also so responsive and genuine and lovely. Pro tip: get the ninja roll and the angry dragon martini. Holy buckets what a treat. Even better with the great staff. Thanks for making this gal’s birthday a special one!“
“This is in a mini strip with plenty of parking space. Stopped in for a quick lunch date with a friend and kids around noonish, maybe 1pm. I'll just say, we did absolutely no research before coming. Their lunch hour is 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Upon arrival we were informed the last time to order is 2:15. Service was great, making sure we get in as much as we could for AYCE. Ordered a little bit of everything. The kids really enjoyed the hibachi dishes that includes fried rice or noodles and choice of protein. The yum yum sauce that comes with was light with hint of yogurt (might be wrong in this ingredient since I didn't asked). If you love Takoyaki, these are probably one of the best ones I've had. I also really enjoy the Cha Soba, it's a chilled green tea noodle with sauce and green onions. First timer embarrassing story* about the Cha Soba. It came out in a soba bamboo tray and having no knowledge of this dish - I shamelessly poured the sauce over the soba, thinking there was a bottom . Anywho, love the soba and our waiter was extremely kind to help clean the mess I created. So, dip the soba in the sauce, don't pour, ok? Also had the crunch roll, fire island roll and spicy girl roll. My favorite was the spicy girl roll, it's a spicy tuna and yellowtail mixed. Literally, it melts with every bite. I forgot to take photos but will definitely get some in when I crave sushi again. Currently my favorite ACYE sushi.“
“I've been coming here for several years as well as their other locations, always fantastic food and they're "all you can eat" sushi is no joke I've put it to the test over 100 individual pieces not including fried scallops which are always delicious and a must-have! Premium experience every time, and the staff are always attentive and courteous!Wheelchair accessibility: Direct access“
