I brought a friend from church who had never been there for lunch. She was so impressed and our waitress went above and beond to make her experience the best. She doesn't get the opportunity to go out and this was truly a treat and our server/waiteress went out of her way to make my guest feel special and also sent her home not only with her leftover from lunch, but fresh rolls a new container of sauce for her sandwich made sure her soda was always filled and I think she knew it was a special treat for her. Off The Grill on Dorsett is one of those spots that somehow freezes time in the best way. I hadn’t been in years, but the second those sirloin tips hit the table, it was like nothing had changed — still tender, still seasoned right, still that “why don’t I come here more often” kind of good.

And the loaded potato? Listen. It’s exactly the kind of chaos I want in a side: cheese melting into butter, bacon bits piled like they’re trying to prove a point. Zero notes.

I also grabbed the chicken ranch pita, and it was so solid I didn’t even realize until after I finished it that I forgot to put the ranch on. That’s how you know the chicken is doing the heavy lifting — juicy, flavorful, no sauce required.

What did surprise me was spotting a filet mignon on the menu. Either that’s new or I was too broke back in the day to even look in that direction. Either way, I’m absolutely coming back for it. If their sirloin tips are still hitting after all these years, I’m ready to see what they do with a filet.

Verdict: Off The Grill is still Off The Grill — dependable, hearty, and quietly elite. A perfect January comfort pick.

“Really enjoy the quiet professional environment and atmosphere. We can have conversations and the food is excellent. However the prices are extremely expensive!!.. Unfortunately with everything else in life getting ridiculously expensive we can’t visit surf and sirloin as often.“
