Cheese baby, cheese!

I came here willingly for one reason, and only one reason: I saw someone's picture of a dish called Alhombre and had to try it. Think of it like this...they throw a handful of pieces of all of their meats (plus bacon) on a platter and then smother it is cheese sauce. Yep, kinda like a garbage pizza but made of Americanized Mexican food. The list included chicken, steak, fish, bacon and somehow a couple of shrimps even though they weren't listed on the menu as being part of the dish. There were some vegetables in there too but the dish could have used a bit more. Everything was cooked properly and very flavorful even without that luscious blanket of cheese laid over the top. Tortillas on the side along with the ubiquitous rice & beans.

We started with chips and salsa but the main event was the most memorable...until dessert arrived. The thing I love about flan is the drizzle of caramel sauce that usually accompanies the custard on the plate. There's never enough to allow a little bit with each bite. Not usually. Not ever - until this plate of flan arrives and it was absolutely swimming in caramel sauce (see picture). I was stuffed to the gills but actually contemplated ordering another one just to see if it would look the same. I held off but will certainly return if for no other reason than to have another flan.”

“On July 12, got two orders of the hot honey chicken tender sandwich. They were overcooked and were hard and dried out. The last time I had them, they were cooked just right and very tender. Lately, I feel it is hit or miss.”

“Mizan Halal Pizza has a huge variety of options when it comes to their toppings and other specialty pizzas. Some suggestions I have are that they should add pizza crust options such as cauliflower crust and/or whole wheat/whole grain options for customers who are concerned with their nutritional and health needs. They should also add salad options as well. Other than that, their staff is friendly and polite.”

“We ordered the sweet and spicy wings, pretzel, Cajun chicken pasta, and the buffalo chicken wrap. Everything was okay. It’s something to come to chill, eat, and catch up with a friend. Nothing really stood out as super delicious. I might come back to try their burgers. The wing sauce was good, but the chicken itself was a bit overcooked. The pasta was really saucy (which was a bonus), but it lacked flavor. The pretzel was actually good! Super soft and I like that it had 2 sauces. The wrap could have been warmed on the outside and a better proportion of ingredients on the inside. Our server was nice!”

“We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary by having a unique dessert. We had never been here before and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was kind and welcoming. The chimney cakes we ordered were delicious. Definitely a must for anyone wanting something different with an inviting atmosphere.”

“We visited this store on Sunday afternoon, 3/8 around 3 p.m. . It got very busy while we were there. Ice Cream Sundays, delicious as always. The poor guy working everything was apparently the only employee and was doing a great job. I feel that you should have had as least one other person there with him....and if there was someone in the back the whole time we were there, they did not help at all. This poor guy worked the never ending line, helped Uber drivers with their orders and delivered orders to tables. This guy deserved something extra that day or at least a pat on the back.”

“Typically I recommend you guys, but whoever was working the meat slicer Dec 19th clearly needs a long enough break to take their prozac. Ive never had a Lion's Choice Roast Beef crumble out the bun entirely when picked up. It was more diced up than Taco Bell Meat.”

“I have been stopping at China in Bombay every time I pass through the St. Louis area for years, and it continues to be a reliable favorite.

This visit was no exception. The beef pho was outstanding. The broth was deeply flavorful, hearty, and comforting, and the portion size was enormous. Easily one of the highlights of the meal and something I would go out of my way to order again.

I also tried the cashew shrimp and the Szechuan chicken sticks. While I personally would have preferred the shrimp fried rather than stir fried, and the chicken sticks actually served on a stick, both dishes were still very tasty and well seasoned. The flavors were bold and satisfying, even if they were slightly different from what I expected.

The food quality here is consistently excellent, and the flavors feel authentic rather than watered down. A major plus for me is that the food is halal, which makes this a dependable stop every time I am in the area.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The space itself is small, but that is well known, and most people opt for takeout. Even so, dining in was still a pleasant experience.

China in Bombay remains a must stop for me whenever I am passing through St. Louis. Great food, generous portions, authentic flavors, and friendly service. Highly recommended.”

“Best Mexican joint in town. As someone of Latin American descent, the food is about as authentic as it gets. I had the birria tacos, and they were delicious. The waiter was very sweet and attentive. “Outstanding! This pretzel shop is my go to for my pretzel wall business, Tasty Stations. David Starr the manager, does a knockout job with my big orders for pretzels and individual dips. Their pretzels stay fresh throughout the night which is a bonus for guest at weddings or events. They have an excellent selection of individual dips too. Try the brownie dip as it’s amazing with a salty pretzel! Can’t say enough about this shop. Hard working friendly professional employees!”
