“Excellent service, fantastic food, and stylish (and still comfortable) decor. Good cocktails and wine. Nice temperature control too. Best steakhouse experience that I have had in some time. I cannot wait to come back again.“

“First time that we have ate at Ruth Chris and the service and atmosphere were excellent. The food was decent, but expected something that was spectacular. Also went for wife’s birthday and all she received was three necklaces of beads. And daughter’s salad was not very good.“

“As a steak lover, I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. During my brunch visit, I ordered the steak and eggs, which came with an array of accompaniments: eggs prepared to my liking, cheesy grits, a side of sausage gravy, and a choice of either toast or biscuits. I opted for egg whites and sourdough toast. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The grits were incredibly smooth and creamy, making them an absolute delight. If you're a fan of grits for breakfast or brunch, Carnivore has some of the best in St. Louis.“

“I got steak, and it was great.
My wife got pork chops, which was great. Twice baked potatoes were great. The salad was good. Toasted ravioli was just ok. Desert cheesecake was good. apple pie was good.
Wish they had booths, not a big fan of tables will for sure go back.
Kid-friendliness: I would say it's a place not to bring small kids that don't listen.“

“Carmine’s is my favorite steakhouse in St. Louis. I have been a loyal customer at all of the Lombardo family restaurants my entire life and Carmine’s is simply the best. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is always 5 stars, never disappoints. I recommend eating here before/after a downtown event or game because the location is prime and has easy access to the highway. I always use their valet parking to avoid traffic at other downtown parking places.“

“Food was wonderful. Most people raved over the chicken. The corn was my favorite side. Crab cakes 10/10. Seafood dip is not the texture I'd call a dip. More like a spread but it was good. Drinks very good as well. I spent like $120 with my meal and 2 drinks.“

“Fry place review. Walking in until getting food took about 40 minutes, which is alright for a Saturday Night. However, nobody took our order for the first ten minutes. Food is priced good (<$20), but is relatively mid besides the fry plates (which slap)“

“Excellent service, I had the Charcoal House Special, rare, with the mushroom sauce and blue cheese over the steak so it melted. If you're getting an expensive steak, get a fine wine to compliment it. I got the Jordan Cabernet, over $100 for the bottle but well worth it. (filet mignon)“

“Our Bone In Ribeyes were cooked to perfection, delicious and greatly priced. We saw two different tables complain to get free food. We have zero complaints.“

“🚨 IF THE RESTAURANT SEEMS EMPTY WHEN YOU WALK IN, PLEASE DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND STAY!!! Al’s has a limit of only 10 people max dining per night, and for good reason! My husband and I walked into the restaurant feeling like we had entered a time capsule. I see reviews talking about the musty smell, but all that I could think of when I walked in were nostalgic memories of my grandparents and a generation lost. This is a historic restaurant and landmark, and I loved every ounce of my time there.
Let’s start with the main thing: the food was unreal. It is the epitome of fine dining, and every last thing that we ordered was made to order. It was fresh, and there was not one item that did not scream perfection. The escargot was amazing, as well as the lobster bisque appetizer. I got the Chilean Seabass, and my husband got the fillet with coldwater lobster on top Oscar-style. WOW 🤩 we eat at a lot of fine dining restaurants, but we have never had an experience where there was not one thing that was either not cooked perfectly or that we didn’t instinctively love. But not here. You have to try it to believe it.
The service was unmatched. My husband and I were somewhat concerned as we first walked in because there was only one other table in there; but we soon realized that it was intentional by the owners and allowed us to have the most intimate dining experience of our lives. It’s almost as if we had rented out the restaurant for our entire meal, and it felt so personal and special. It truly can be summed up to say that it was an experience, not just a dinner.
Our servers had each been working there for over 40 years, as well as the chef. Gary and James (our servers) were excellent. The passion and the ownership that Gary oozed when speaking about the restaurant and every facet of the food and its history was palpable.
We pray people will give Al’s a chance - we truly will never forget our experience there, and we pray blessings over the owners and staff as they continue to preserve a piece of history with honor, integrity, and DELICIOUSNESS!“
