“First let me start, your employees are top notch, starting with Front desk. Our Bartender Sara, she was fairly new but offered a Pinot Noir recommendation, it was an ok wine but cost $70 bucks which I could buy locally for between $18-$22. The wine glasses were not crystal clear, water spots everywhere. I observed another bartender cleaning them or drying with a dryer or cleaner machine. It doesn’t win in my book.
Our server Sara was awesome, she recommended the sweet potato casserole, it was beyond our expectations. Fabulous, already planning to recreate and serve. My Bride of 45 years had the Filet and Shrimp, spot on. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye, the flavor was great but it was a New York Strip without doubt. I judge Steaks in Championship competitions, I did not bring it up just because your Staff was remarkable. It was good, just not a strip fan. Your floor Mgr. Nathan is an asset. We had conversations and he recognized our 45 anniversary. Nice evening! My point is your employees are your prize, for $275.00 the little things matter!“

“The food and the entire experience were amazing! The evening was to celebrate my milestone birthday and it did not disappoint! The bourbon list was extensive with so many great choices to choose from! And I sampled several! For dinner I had the fillet, crab and crawfish chowder, and a loaded baked potato…delicious! The bread pudding was also divine. I will definitely be returning! 🤤 🖤“

“Ahhmazzing experience once again. The food is so delicious. Definitely, I always order the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer, Chocolate Espresso Martini's, Cheesecake, Prime Rib, anything you order will be so good. Our server, Pete, it was his first night and he was so seasoned and on point, we were very well taken care of.
Thank you.“

“Carmine’s is my favorite steakhouse in St. Louis. I have been a loyal customer at all of the Lombardo family restaurants my entire life and Carmine’s is simply the best. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is always 5 stars, never disappoints. I recommend eating here before/after a downtown event or game because the location is prime and has easy access to the highway. I always use their valet parking to avoid traffic at other downtown parking places.“

“The perfect date night dinner spot for my wife’s birthday. The entrees range between $15 for a flatbread to $64 for the 10oz filet. The service was fast and friendly. My wife and I decided to split the Bruschetta and it was delicious. For dinner we both started off with the Caesar salads and that was one of the best Caesar Salads we both have had. For the main course I had the Baked Beef Ravioli it was delicious. My wife had the 6oz filet and the baked potato side item and she said they both were also delicious. My wife also had a glass of their house red wine and she said it was really good. They take all major credit cards. I suggest making a reservation because they do get busy. We had a reservation for 6 PM and by 6:30 PM most of all the tables were full. It is located on the hill so parking is sparse but there are two lots near the restaurant that you should be able to find a spot in. My rating : BEST“

“Absolutely outstanding experience at Charcoal! From the moment we walked in, everything was top-notch: the atmosphere, the food, and especially the service. Every dish was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. A huge shoutout to Armando, who truly made our experience exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable, personable, and made sure every detail was taken care of without ever making us feel rushed. If you want top-tier service, do yourself a favor and ask for Armando! He takes an already amazing dining experience to another level.
Charcoal is definitely a place we’ll be returning to. Five stars all the way!“

“Very good restaurant, obviously because it's always packed. We got there early around 5, we had 6 so we called to get on a list, but didn't need it. We were seated pretty quickly once our whole party was there. We got the steaks and they were delicious!“

“EXCEPTIONAL! If you are expecting a modern, quick dinner, do not come. This is by far the most historical fine dining restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was incredible. Al’s is a historic gem that we need to appreciate in our community. The stories our waiter, Gary shared, hearing the history of the business and the people it’s been passed down through was just incredible. You don’t find these places anymore and we highly highly recommend if you are looking for a very special, well thought-out dinner.“
