“Great food and great service. We eat here quite a bit. I've been craving ceviche and I ordered the shrimp cocktail. It was made more like a ceviche shrimp gazpacho, except the shrimp were whole (+feshly cooked and cooled). The base was some kind of shrimp-spicy tomato juice-cocktail sauce-Pico blend. It would make a killer brunch bloody mary. “THEEE best AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant in Joplin! Their tamales, rice and beans taste just like my abuelita's family recipe! I crave their Carne Asada Tacos Especial's daily! It is a small, local, family owned business and cooks are all family as well. Prices are very low for the amount of excellent, fresh quality of food they make. Lots of options too. Their hours are a little funky, so, just make sure you make it during their business hours: Monday through Saturday 10:30am-7pm! You will nver regret eating your dinner here, a bit early sometimes!“

Years ago, I passed by in a situation almost homeless and sick in the middle of winter and this kind man ordered his son to serve food and he gave medicine to me and still a friend. and he bought us tickets to Kansas City, I will never, but never forget it and my prayers will always be there, people like him, may God multiply everything he touches. “Stopped in after a full day of driving and boy did this place hit the spot. Americanized version of Mexican food for sure but they do it very well. Service was great and quick. Good variety on the menu and a lot of items that you will not find at other Mexican food establishment.“

“So I decided I wanted Mexican for supper while in Joplin so Maria's was close to the hotel and had a pretty good rating so I figured I would.give it a try. I go in and was meet by very friendly staff and I had a seat at the bar since I was by my self. I ordered a margarita and started on the chips and salsa. They had spice salsa and plan the spice wasn't spicy ant all but was really good the plan was just blan. The margarita was very weak so I had to get a shot of tequila to add to it. I ordered the fajitas monterrey and they came out steaming! They didn't have the normal fajitas taste to them but were really good. The bacon wrapped jalapeños shrimp stole the show, they were delicious! I will definitely go back next time I'm in town.“

The customer service was just over the top and the crew worked together helping with everything and each customer. They were busy but still kept smiles on their faces and kept up the awesome service! “This may be the OG but I was really disappointed with my order today. Burrito was fantastic but my side of rice which was almost $4 was terrible. I honestly thought it was refried beans at first. Rice didn’t look like rice. Almost looked like quinoa. Parts of it was way over seasoned to the point it tasted like raw jalapeño (just clumps of seasoning or something). Plus there was so much grease on top. I feel this was pre-packaged and sitting under a heat lamp. The cheese was brown and not fresh either which I think caused so much grease.Overall a really good place to eat, but for the cost then quality of my rice, that wasn’t worth it. These prices are like that of McDonalds or Starbucks. $10 for a burrito and side of rice. It’s good, but not that good. Lower prices and I’ll come back or increase the quantity or quality of product. Still recommending people to go there I just personally won’t for a while.“
