5 Best Seafood Restaurants in Jefferson City

“We came down to Jeff city for a birthday steak celebration with my Mom who transplanted herself there about two years ago. We had a bad experience and left another popular steak house and wandered into O’Donoghues’s on a busy Saturday night. We were treated like royalty! The food was exceptional. My Mother had the Lobster and a Filet, I had the Filet and my husband had the Sirloin. Everything was delicious and prepared with expertise. The bread, can I talk about the focaccia?????? It was so good. Our waitstaff was very busy with two parties at the same time, but managed to make us feel like we belonged there. Nothing makes a meal quite like being treated like family. Thank you so much. My hubby, my kid and I drove 7 hours, checked into our hotel, picked up my mother and drove straight into the downtown area. We were exhausted and left feeling full, filled with love and absolutely can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you to everyone working 11/22/25. Great Job!“

Service could use some help with attentiveness, maybe he was just overwhelmed, he did have a big table, but perhaps the restaurant could help organize tables/ seating little better. Now with that being said, waiter was very polite, I never did see not on a task. He was hustling around trying his best. I just think he was overloaded with tables. :)“

“I've been twice in the last 2 weeks. The first time was part of a large group. It took longer than estimated, and another group with one less person came in and was seated before us. They were not on the waiting list or had any reservation.The other thing that could have been done better was only one server was assigned to such a large group. She did her best, but the service experience would have been better if she had help.Also, as a note, gratuities are included in the check for large groups. The second time was just the two of us, and everything met our expectations.“

“My husband and I just dined in Madison Cafe and were amazed how great everything was. Regrettably, we reside in Jefferson City for nine years without ever dining at Madison Cafe. We wish we had gone there sooner because the food, staff, and prices are really great. We will return to M.C. real soon.“
