“We are not from Joplin, we’re on a road trip and our home base is in Wisconsin. I’d give this place 10/5 if I could. No fuss crab shack but has everything you could want from a casual seafood joint. Here’s what really stood out to us: when we got there it was just us, a small family of three and then a younger man who appeared to be a single dad with his daughter. The manager Ryan was running food out and said he overheard the little girl mentioning she wanted to try crab so he included a small portion of crab on the house to try, which was awesome to see! We shared the crab and shrimp plate. Food was awesome, crab was the perfect cook and was easy to eat. Prices are reasonable and they have a patio for the summer which looks like a fun spot for eating dinner on a nice night. Great service and I hope this place stays for a long time - with service like that I believe it will!“

“We absolutely loved our experience. The staff was kind, courteous, and checked back to ensure our needs were met. The atmosphere reminded me of being in Florida while visiting the Midwest. The owner made time to not only visit, but connect with each table. We ordered a crab platter and it was exceptional. Just as if we had purchased it from the gulf coast! Turtleheads is a definite must if you are wanting to have that beach/ gulf coast feel. We will definitely be back!“

“Store was dirty, trash full, tables not wiped and floor greasy. Food could have been in the fryers longer. Head lady had an attitude but the two younger employees were helpful and polite. Think they were trying to make up for the maybe manager.“
