I was staying at the Hotel Intercontinental, and American Slang is located in the hotel. The first night, I sat at the bar and had dinner. I had the Brisket burger, and it was delicious! Sarah was the bartender, and her service was excellent! I ate dinner there the second evening, and I had their version of a Cuban sandwich. Also delicious! Service again was excellent! It's a Tuesday night so they aren't busy. Ordered wings and salad. Wings were amazing! Service was great! Dude from Arkansas was awesome!!!! Our server! Nice old established eatery!

The area around the fireplace is beautiful. The staff allowed us to eat our meal there which made for a good experience. The restaurant area looks like a cafeteria and is extremely noisy. Also, The restaurant was unable to make one of our appetizers and substituted a less expensive item. They told us they were giving us that substitute item at no cost but instead charged us for the more expensive one that they didn't serve us.
