I stopped in for some treats and got 3 cookies. The Lemon and Snickerdoodle cookies were very good, and I think the Oatmeal Breakfast cookie was the best cookie I’ve ever eaten. And I’m old!
I have visited about every coffee shop in Kansas City downtown and this one is one of my favorites with so much inside surprise. Ice cream, food, bar, as well as coffee and drinks. It is close to City Market, has great biscuits and gravy and lots of coffee drinks.
I love coming here!!! I use to live far away so it was only special occasions. I moved a lot closer. The best thing is that I have options on what I can get pretty all day!!!!

Opera House Coffee&Food Emporium is a versatile spot that features a coffee shop, bakery, bar, and grill. It offers a variety of food and drinks suitable for different times of the day. Visitors enjoy the cozy and comfortable vibe, making it a good place to hang out or grab a quick bite. The food menu includes favorites like French toast, steak burritos, omelettes, and side dishes such as potatoes and eggs over easy. The bakery section offers delicious treats, with standout cookies like Lemon, Snickerdoodle, and the Oatmeal Breakfast cookie, which is highly praised.
The coffee options are generally good, with some reviews mentioning that the drinks are amazing, though experiences may vary depending on the day or time. For example, the bar area is appreciated for its fair prices, attentive service, quiet atmosphere, and full bar on busy weekends, providing a relaxing escape even when other places have long waits.
However, customer service has been a concern for some guests. While the staff can be busy and efficient, there have been instances where requests felt like an inconvenience, affecting overall experience. Some reviews also noted hygiene issues, such as a waitress with her hands full and touching food with hair close to the French toast, which some found unappetizing.
Overall, Opera House Coffee&Food Emporium offers a good mix of food, drinks, and atmosphere, but service quality can vary, and the experience depends on the visit time.
