I was working a private event with Blues Fired Pizza on Saturday and as I was closing the truck door to begin prepping and service, a friendly warm voice from an older gentleman said “Hello!” From the side as he was talking to the event coordinator. After shift I stuck around to wander the area and wanted to check out their truck. I met Steve (that friendly warm voice that had greeted me hours before) and he asked me how I was and how we did. Asked me if I’d like to order anything. I was shocked because I didn’t want to assume I could also order- having not been part of the event. I asked if it was okay and he said “Sure! We have to take care of our own!” With a genuine smile on his face. I heard stories of this industry being a cut-throat business. I was more than willing to pay for my pizza but Steve assured me it was okay. (I did drop a tip in their tip can) 🙂 ***** I had the 8" Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. Garlic/Ranch Sauce, Chicken, Bacon, Jalapeño, Cheddar Cheese and Mozzarella Cheese. (Pictured) It was AMAZING! I’m so tired of these big chain pizza places and I’m sooo happy that I went to Blues Fired Pizza’s truck! The dough was fresh, soft, and had that fire oven taste and crisp. You can tell the dough is made from scratch. I’ve driven past them numerous times in Kirkwood at their little pizza shack… but never stopped in. I’ll be glad to come by and order for sure! “This place was pretty good. It’s definitely the classic St.Louis style pizza with provel cheese, which i happen to be very familiar with being from the city. Kind of has the IMOs kind of vibe to it. “This place is incredible, and I understand why making a reservation is such a hassle.

When we arrived at our designated time, we were promptly seated and greeted by our server, Erica. She was incredibly friendly and helpful, suggesting dishes that we might enjoy the most during our visit. For our first course, we had risotto balls accompanied by a refreshing salad. Both dishes were bursting with fresh flavors and textures.

For our second course, we indulged in a delightful brick oven pizza topped with pasta. After savoring both courses, we never felt bloated, as all the ingredients were imported from Italy and tasted absolutely divine. It was as if we were on an Italian vacation, dining at a restaurant.

To top off our meal, we enjoyed cannolis and gelato, accompanied by a refreshing Americano coffee. These desserts were incredibly refreshing and satisfying.

What truly set this place apart was the ambiance, the thoughtful gesture of providing separate silverware for each course, and Erica’s exceptional ability to engage us in meaningful conversations.

This place is absolutely worth the wait. You won’t find food like this anywhere else, unless you visit Italy. I highly recommend it; as an Italian myself, it reminded me of my Nonna’s cooking.

“Drove to STL to visit the Laumeier Sculpture Park. Stopped by Mellow Mushroom for some food before the drive home. SO happy we did, we never heard of Mellow Mushroom but it quickly became one of my new favorite Pizza places. Such a cool ambiance! “Robert enthusiastically greeted us upon our arrival. He is very personable and professional. We were impressed with his pizza ingredient knowledge, regarding all the different kinds. Our all meat. Pizza was piping hot and delicious! The ingredients were obviously fresh. Both bathrooms were clean. The floor and the tables were spotless, awaiting their next guests. This has been our go to place for the past several years. I love that they have several different sides, a variety of salads, and their pizzas are delicious. Promptly greeted and seated upon arriving to the venue. Service and food were top tier. My Son enjoyed a personal size bacon pizza with fresh grated parmesan cheese. I myself enjoyed the salmon, linguini pasta. The portion sizes could’ve been a bit more complex especially based off the price you pay, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves… the ambience and food was amazing. Thank you for a delicious lunch!“

“Out of towner here from a place with terrible pizza (Appleton WI). I'm sold on Imo's and very happy at the moment, munching this thin crust. I don't think I've ever had a pizza this thin, it's fantastic, sauce is on point as is the cheese and toppings. The toasted ravs are the best I've had in STL yet, I tried a place on the Hill and thought they were ok but yours are clearly better.

This place still value their customers and customer service. They actually greet you here and anticipate your needs. “We recently moved “locally” and Our trying out new restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised with “A’mis” Took Our four kids there for lunch today. The ENTIRE dining area was full, yet the short staffed staff did not miss a beat. Drinks filled, food brought out, they did forget silverware but They were SO busy and also so on top of it! Truly impressed as a former server and hostess back in the day. My kids finished the cheese sticks in less than 5 minutes. The fettuccini was amazing, and so was the New York style pizza. The house dressing is good as well. On top of that the wait staff was so friendly and kind to Us. You sometimes sadly get dirty looks bringing 4 kids under 13 into a restaurants alone, even if they are well behaved! We will be back!!! Thank-You!“

“Candicci’s catered our wedding, and it was everything we hoped for and more! We heard tons of praise from guests saying it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding! Every single dish was delicious, and the portions were generous. Every guest was full and happy! Jeff was super responsive, communicative, and easy to work with. They gave us a free tasting before we booked so we knew exactly what we’d be getting. The whole catering team was professional and accommodating, especially with dietary restrictions. They were also very affordable! I cannot recommend Candicci’s enough!“

“Fast and great pizza and friendly delivery“

“I have frequently dined, had delivered, and carried out fron this location. It has had its ups and downs, but I noticed a significant change in September 2021. I believe they took on complete new management. I have been fortunate enough to be dealing with Matt for at least a year now and I always thought he should have been the one that should be running this location. I have been a customer here for 10 years and it's always been a mess. Matt did something different. I believe they brought Dan in as the GM and made Matt the AM. Things changed for the better. Apparently Dan left and Matt stepped into the GM position. Im not sure what happened, but Matt was the best thing that happened to this place. Its my understanding that upper management drove him out do to psychological abuse. I will say as a diehard customer Matt did leave a solid legacy. I always enjoyed Fernando. There were days it was Matt and Fernado, and those guys were on point. Im very pleased to see Fernando in a management position. I would hope that he would be considered for the GM position in the near future. Over the years I have unfortunately noticed the turn of management in this establishment, and there seems to be a common denominator. I have never been able to get a answer from any of the management over the years but from what I can collect it seems to me that they are micro managed and not given the tools to succeed. That is why I will no longer patronize this location or any other Imos that is part of this franchise. It's to bad. I don't know who to contact, but if you are reading this, you either own the place, or are the DM or RM. It really doesn't matter. I have a 17 year old daughter that really wanted to get a job with you and I won't let her. I would have left her in Matt's hands, no worries. Matt was there everyday, everytime. Then he is gone? Through the grapevine I hear there is a District manager that appears to be a bit of a cancer in this franchise. Can anyone fill me in on any information on this matter?
