“We had dinner and breakfast here during our spring break ski trip. Everything was amazing and we had a great view of the mountains. Highly recommend the ribeye and potatoes au gratin. The summit breakfast was fantastic as well. What really impressed was the wait staffs desire to be the very best. Both our servers were great.“

“Excellent steakhouse with a Montana vibe. The wild mushrooms and selection of local meats were the highlights on my menu. Staff were attentive, friendly and engaging. The atmosphere was great and made you feel transported to a different time. Parking is pretty easy but it's about a 2-3 minute walk up to the restaurant

wild mushrooms- this is a must-order. Incredibly tasty and on the heavier side

Elk meatball- pretty good, but I enjoyed their mains more

Smoked trout dip- pretty good, but I enjoyed their mains more

bison short rib- incredibly tender and very flavorful. The more lean profile of the bison really showed out, and made me appreciate how much tastier bison is compared to beef

Wapiti chops- incredibly tender and very flavorful, without being too gamey or fatty

Elk and porcini ravioli- really good as well

panzanella- balanced and fresh. very well done

Service and atmosphere- 5 stars
Food came out quickly and the servers and bartenders were really attentive. The cabin feel, the lighting, and all the taxidermy on the walls. I truly felt transported to what Montana is pictured to be. Incredible experience if you're around the area

“I always have a great experience at the Moonlight Tavern. I've been coming there for years when I ski Big Sky. I love the giant fireplace and large windows that make it a pleasure to dine and watch new snow fall. The wine list is very good and the food has always been solid. I had an elk steak this last time that was superb.“
